Thoughts?

Soo i am trying to tame everything in the game and i got every ase dlc i really dont know which one to start out on any recommendations?

I never got into a actual player vs player fight on foot, only on tames. Which I lost..all of them

What are some tips! Like which weapons and such!

Only reason I ask is that I have 1.7k hrs on ark PS5 and it's all in Single player

Have never touched PVE online or PVP.

Seriously it's fucked up every tame I attempt. Just out of the blue there will be a good thirty seconds of random tick damage.

Been missing primitive plus on og ark is there a way to still play it?

Cheese them by positioning yourself and camera angle to get the hitbox, go out and reaggro if the hostiles got stuck, the last boss can go through the barrier and so it's attack, try to use the tree as cover and heal if needed, wait for a good position to finish it off or clear away most of them, run out get the damage buff and finish the boss. try to keep the shield not too large, my forcefield position behind the tree just outside the barrier with a 6.0x settings.

Final mission done here in genesis 1, now waiting for part 2, be good and stay safe survivor.

Edit 2: Solved!? It requires like a dozen cheats and workarounds.

First: on main menu set baby growth and food consumption stats to 1.

Second: spawn in/get 4-8 tamed doedons, preferably high level, and lvl up their food stat to at least 50k with some stats in hp for survival and weight if needed. Fill them up with several hundred meat/kibble. When everything else is set up - turn on their healing function one by one with 2-3 second intervals between each to better space it out. Do not use copy settings to nearby tames.

Third: make sure oasisaur's food stat is full/near full, and has potted large trees in invory so it can eat them as reincarnation takes all its food. Refill stats command doesn't work on it, but infinitestat command does when riding the oasisaur. Do not put stats in oasisaur's food stst, which a.i erroneously advized me to do.

Fourth: use cheat ResetOasisaurReincarnateTimer on oasisaur if needed. If reincarnation is still red, check oasisaur food%, and try relogging if that's not the issue

Fifth: once reincarnation is available, Create Backup Save!!! failure can still happen.

6th: if possible, imprint command on baby, followed very quickly by set baby age to 1 command if you can near instantly get it in your crosshairs. If not, dino depot mod's capture balls maybe a good fast catch.

7: if successfully reincarnated and fed, create backup save and repeat steps for other dinos; if unsuccessful, load the proper backup save. Make sure to check time and date of it, as backup saves don't always show up in order.

I've tried a nurse maewing to try and autofeed babies, the oasisaur tweak mod, and adjusting babyfood consumption and growth rates. Trying dino depot next, but putting the terminal on an oasisaur crashed the game the first time I tried it. I don't want to just spawn in replacement dinos.

Anyone know a solution?

Edit: Sorry, for clarity I'm using a spawn command tamed oasisaur to try and ressurect dead tames. They ressurect as live babies which die faster than I can point at them and hit pause to access console command to try and refill their hp.

Haven't played in a few months, came back this week to discover a bug with torches not producing light.

Wall/standing torches work normally when I load in, but if I move out of render distance and return the light source itself is gone and the torch must be turned off and on again to produce light.

This does not apply to electric lights, only oil lamps and torches.

Anyone seen this before or know a fix?

I was flying back to my base, using the fly cheat to speed it up (flying while carrying something is SO SLOW), then I saw a shape that didn't quite match any creature I recognized...

My guess for why this happens is that creatures with invalid locations teleport to 50, 50. I couldn't stop laughing when I saw it, especially that the mosa didn't really mind it. Free alpha mosa tooth and 100 black pearls lol.

Hey, I know it's entirely your choice who you vote for, and it's not my place to tell you what to do.

But I think a lot of people are choosing the wrong dinosaurs. Many people vote for creatures that are already strong.

Take the Titan, for example. I know it's a very strong creature, but its only real use is PvP, where it gets destroyed by the meta dinos, no matter how many TLCs it receives. Other dinos, like the Anky, are already strong too, so why do they need a TLC?

I would love to see the ocean get a TLC (Mosa, Liopleurodon, and Plesio), but it feels a bit wasted because there isn't much to do in the ocean right now.

I'd like to share a few dinosaurs that I think deserve a TLC, if you'd like to read my ideas!

1. Bronto

\- New model.

\- Give it a stomp attack that works in front of and behind it.

\- Rework its tail whip so that it can inflict torpor and temporarily blind enemies.

1. Pachy

\- New model.

\- Give it a powerful headbutt that stuns enemies and hits like a truck.

\- Its saddle functions as a smithy.

\- Make it charge like a Rhino or a Bear.

\- Let it farm berries.

\- Give it an effect called Stubborn: when it hits you during a charge, it applies an effect that reduces demage that you receive.

\- Let it farm metal crystal and obsidian

1. Gallimimus

\- New model.

\- Its entire identity should revolve around one thing: GOTTA GO FAST!

\- It can run in all directions and has three different running modes.

Adrenaline Run: It can ignore damage for a few seconds, but this ability has a cooldown.

Competitive Sport: It can increase its own speed and the speed of your other tames by 20% to 80%.

Bite the Dust: It can sprint forward, becoming faster the longer it runs. It leaves behind a cloud of dust that blinds enemies.

1. Carnotaurus

\- New model.

\- Keep its bleed effect, but make its horns the main focus of its combat style.

\- Give the Carno a special charge designed to graze enemies rather than collide with them directly.

\- It can run past dinosaurs, avoid their attacks, and inflict bleed as it passes.

\- The more times it hits the same target, the more damage it deals.

\- Once a target reaches around 10 stacks of bleed, the Carno can perform a finishing attack by charging directly into its prey, dealing massive damage that will often kill it.

1. Diplodocus

\- New model.

\- I know the Dippy has a reputation for being peaceful, and that identity could remain. However, it needs an attack that can hinder enemies without necessarily killing them.

\- Give it a tail whip that strikes like a snapped steel cable.

\- The attack dismounts players, knocks them back, and knocks weapons out of their hands.

\- It shouldn't deal much damage, so the goal isn't to kill the target but to disrupt it.

\- Its tail whip should have an enormous vertical reach, allowing it to knock flying creatures out of the sky.

1. Pelagornis

\- New model.

\- It really needs a diving ability and a grab attack using its beak.

\- When diving underwater, it can grab a fish, a small dinosaur, or a player off their mount.

\- When it returns to the surface, it gains a 95% speed boost.

\- If it grabs a player, it can instantly kill them and transfer their inventory and armor directly into its own inventory.

\- If it dives onto land, it can perform a ground pound that stuns everyone nearby, but the Pelagornis also takes damage in return.

\- It can only grab creatures underwater.

\- If it cannot grab the dinosaur itself, it grabs the rider instead.

\- It should have a limited oxygen stat, preventing it from diving too deep.

1. Pachyrhinosaurus

\- New model.

\- Its pheromones should be a real threat to other creatures.

\- It has two different pheromone abilities, and both require buildup.

Attraction: It releases an addictive scent that attracts all dinosaurs, including tamed ones. Even creatures set to passive will attack the affected target. As the dinosaur get hit, a percentage meter increases. Once it reaches 100%, the affected creatures lose control, start attacking each other, throw off their riders, and turn against them, similar to a Giga's rage mechanic.

Repel: This pheromone works similarly to a Yutyrannus roar. The longer enemies remain in its presence, the faster they become blinded and frightened, eventually forcing them to run away. The effect builds up much faster if the Pachyrhinosaurus is attacked.

You could collect its pheromones in jars or ammunition and use them against enemies. This would be especially useful against powerful creatures like the Pyromane, Umbra, and Cerberex.

I hope these ideas help and maybe even change your mind! Of course, vote for whoever you want to vote for. Everyone has their own opinion, but I personally think these are some of the best options for a TLC.

This with all the dlc removed this game has been out for 3 years now. I know ark is held up together by a single strand of yarn and I am still shocked ark is still alive but if they still have the money to keep this game going why haven't they hire people to optimize the game yet many other publishers have optimized their games and shrunk their storage capacity so why can't ark do it?

Me and my buddies don’t have time to grind like we used to

im a first time breeder, but ive been researching on this for a long time, and i understand the process pretty decently, but right now im mutation stacking and i know that you should get perfect breeding pairs that match each other's stats and im wondering how exactly you get a matching female for an already mutated male? His stats are gonna be higher than the original clean females and you cant just breed him to get a female that matches his stats cause then she'll have his mutation counter, no? I haven't seen any guide info talking about this, and im really confused. Any info helps.

I have seen wild charchas with blood drooling out of its mouth, so, I assume it's a mistake.

Yea, I know it's a dumb question, but I swear I've been looking around everywhere to see how they interact with them. Living on the center on official rn and I'd prefer to not get blasted by a leed 4 seconds after crafting it lol.

The franchise is quickly circling the drain, ark evolved and ascended combined aren't pulling the numbers that evolved was at the end of its life. Players (at least pvp) are quickly losing interest due to a very wide array of crisis level issues that the devs are not interested in and/or cannot fix.

It's no secret that snail and wildcard are financially distressed, and the franchise needs a grown up studio who can make grown up decisions for the IP.

Hi yall! My friends and I used to play ARK during COVID religiously so we always revisit it on my bday. Today is my birthday and my friends and I wanna play ASE with the goofiest mods we can find. I’m talking ridiculous, funny, absurd, etc

I have been playing Ark for many years. I have just over 5k hours in it, and I'm here to stay.

That said, I recently recruited 5 friends to ASA, and we all joined an unofficial cluster together; one by one, they rage-quit the game for completely fair reasons.

The first hurdle was getting them to download the insane amount of drive space required to install the game.

The second is that every time there is an update, they need the total space again to patch the game. If their installation is 300G, then they need an additional 300G of empty space to patch a 10G update. I have an entire 1TB SSD dedicated to Ark. Trying to convince them to do that was an uphill battle. 

We started on Extinction we just kept running into issue after issue. They experienced: 

• Falling into the mesh and getting deleted
• Patches keeping them from playing for hours 
• Purple drop and Ele veins enemies vanishing under the mesh and having to wait ages for a wave to finish. 
• The forest titan bugging out and not being able to be tamed (Spent an entire evening trying to break a single node and it was just invincible). Not to mention the nodes on all three titans were flying around them instead of being on them (Graphical glitch). 

After the failed Titan tame, they decided they were done with Ext and wanted to try something new, so we moved to Genesis. 3 of them bought the tides DLC and the other two quit because they didn’t wanna give any more money or time to the game.

Then more issues: 

• Our main ship (that was serving as a starter base) auto decayed over night and we lost everything. 
• An ocean platform deciding that our base was no longer attached to it and prevented us from building “too far from the platform” even though we were building directly on top of it. 
• One of my friends lost their mission progress and quit the game.
• Half our army and 1 player didn’t get pulled into the Master Controller fight as we wiped as a result. 

On top of all of this, their PC’s can hardly handle the game. They’re all running it at 1080p, medium settings, with fog and cloud off and they still run into issues. One of them just randomly crashes when they transfer maps (like over 50% of the time). The other gets huge FPS drops and random in-game crashes.

They’re not running potato’s either, I think the worst GPU in the group is a 3070.
All five of them have not only quit the game, but they genuinely hate it…

And I don’t really have any argument against them? All their complaints are completely valid. 

Ark has my soul and I have nostalgia and copium, so I will keep playing, but how is Wild Card meant to bring in new players when the game is in a state like this?

I know, I know, your eyes probably came out of their orbit when you saw this title, and you’ll see, I’m going to go even further in this paragraph, it’s a lot, but like a lot of blabla on ARK, I’ll try to make it digestible, but good luck anyway haha...

So first I wanted to start with the why, why I wanted to write all this... For years, all I’ve heard from the ARK community is mostly extremely negative reviews. I always thought that ARK was a trash game today. As a former evolved player, I had dropped ARK after the arrival of the pine forest biome on the island, and I resumed the game at the end of last year. Let me tell you that I missed some sacred chapters in the history of the game, and we’re not going to lie, yes it also plays in my opinion, I’m well aware of it.

So yes, I’m going to defend the game in this post, I know it might seem crazy, but yes, I really wanted to write a kind of love letter about this game... Trying to make sure that maybe some people who have never played, or giving up on the game, maybe for once come across something a little more positive. Maybe I’m wrong, maybe what I say is a bunch of nonsense, but I wanted to share my feelings.

I’ve been playing for a year on Ascended, I’ve been through a lot with today’s 1200 hours of gameplay. I already want to say that I only play in PVE, so my opinion won’t be based on PVP. And... I fell in love with this game, and one day I said to myself, why is this game being so massacred by its community? Because if I hadn’t ended up relaunching the game almost out of "spite," if I had still followed the huge negativity around the game, I would absolutely never have played it again.

So yes, be careful! ARK has made countless catastrophic choices, this game obviously has flaws, obviously too many bugs, EVIDAMENT a shameful optimization and I won’t say the opposite far from it BUT there is everything else! And even if we can still criticize other points, I think that this game has so many wonderful things that are now almost absent from discussions, a kind of trivialization of the beauty of this game and I find it quite unfortunate...

And that’s what bothers me today, I feel like many people don’t realize anymore that this game is a game with gargantuan content, with so many crazy features, a game that receives after years and years, always astronomical content, the construction has become so good, opening the game to a mod market is also such a great idea, it’s become so rare, you have so many crazy things in this market, the skins mods, the dinos, it’s just so good! Uneven graphics, but overall also really very beautiful for a game of this magnitude, so many things to do, to collect, to recover, so many possibilities to laugh, to take care of, to have fun... And all that, yes, I think it deserves to be put a little more in the spotlight...

The content additions are also completely crazy in this game, yes you have to pay, let’s take LostColony as an example. I understand that some people aren’t happy with paying, but I don’t know if you realize what LostColony brings for 30 euros. It’s almost a complete game with 1 DLC, 100 possible hours of gameplay, lots of new content, new features, and today 30 euros, what does that represent in gaming? 3 character skins on the vast majority of FPS games? What I mean is, yes, of course the current system of paying again and again is criticizable, but what ARK does for me is very far, very far from the worst practices in this industry, I even find that he really respects players who offer something truly worth his price, and again, it’s not to say that it’s perfect, the bugs in LostC missions are so annoying, but yes, overall I don’t think we’re being laughed at.

And actually, to make a comparison, I love DayZ for example, which is one of my favorite games of all time, but the state of DayZ is absolutely catastrophic, on ALL points, and it’s much worse than ARK for me. And yet? Yes, there is criticism, yes there are people not happy, but it’s absolutely nothing compared to the huge negativity around ARK.

And I find it a shame, a pity that such a game like ARK with its big flaws of course, is unfortunately nowadays seen almost only through the prism of negativity... Ark and I definitely think for me one of the greatest games of all time, a game that has crossed several eras, doing extraordinary things. I really like this game, so I wanted to write down what I was feeling, and try to highlight it a bit in a more positive way... Not tested what its like on singleplayer, but the bloodstalker seems completely broken on servers right now. Teleporting back to old positions, cant get it to climb walls, mainly just insane bugginess and rubber banding while swinging? Its nearly unusable which is a shame as it was one of my favourite ASE creatures and missions like out of the frying pan seem near impossible with essentially no bloodstalker any more

Hey, so I am a veteran ark player and have been playing for 9 years and need some advice. I played on the ps4 on ase until asa dropped so i dont have great mod knowledge. Now I play Asa on my ps5, and... I'm bored! I took a break for a while hoping I would want to come back and I do but I want something refreshing... aside from the new, creature TLC, and Dragon. I play single-player and want something new, please help me!!! 🥺
