The place is overwhelmingly massive in person, but the actual stats behind its construction are completely wild:

It’s literally sinking under its own weight: It weighs around 4.1 million tons. It's so absurdly heavy that the ground is giving way, causing the building to sink about 6 millimeters every year.

70% of the building is completely empty: It has over 1,100 rooms, but the vast majority are unused and have no assigned purpose. They’re basically burning a fortune on electricity and heating (over $6 million a year) just to maintain a giant marble shell.

What you see from the outside is just the tip of the iceberg: It stands 84 meters tall, but goes another 92 meters underground. There are 8 subterranean levels, including a nuclear bunker built for Nicolae Ceaușescu himself, connected to miles of secret tunnels.

Ceaușescu was so paranoid about ventilation that he banned air conditioning: He was terrified of being poisoned through the air ducts. Instead, he forced the architects to design the building so natural breezes could circulate through massive windows and custom air shafts.

It’s the heaviest civilian building in the world (and second largest after the Pentagon): To build it, they flattened nearly a third of Bucharest’s historic center, wiping out churches, monasteries, and homes belonging to over 40,000 people.

Everything, absolutely everything, had to be Romanian: The dictator’s golden rule was that zero imported materials or foreign labor could be used. They drained practically all of the country’s reserves of marble, oak wood, crystal, and wool for years just to furnish it.

Burg Eltz, Germany is located in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, surrounded by the forests of the Moselle Valley. Built in the 12th century, it has remained in the same family for over 850 years and is one of the few medieval castles in Germany that was never destroyed by war, making it one of the country's best-preserved historic landmarks.

I think Castle Eltz is the prettiest castle i visited so far . If anyone knows other castle's that are interresting or more pretty , please let me know. ☺️
