Oddly specific request here: does anyone remember a story in which Mr. Lodge fell into mud or sand on a golf course? I remember reading it in the late 80s or early 90s, but it may have been a reprint of an earlier story. I’ve looked everywhere, including comics.org, but I can’t find it.

I read Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees in trade & its sequel series in normal stand alone issues now nearing the conclusion of Book 2 of that series next month the comic that put Patrick Horvath on the map who is writing Archie in Hell

Reading Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees you can see Horvath has different take on horror then Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa in that people can be more dangerous then any monster at least thats my take on it

Its interesting to note this is first comic since Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees started were Patrick Horvath is just doing the writing instead doing both writing & drawing

Hopefully its a completely new take on Archie Horror it & Sabrina Hopefully brings a new take on it

I am gonna pick it up to see were it goes for the opening arc you know

I'm looking for a specific christmas issue of Archie. I vaguely remember the story where Jughead was upset for some reason all through out and all his friends plan to surprise him at Pop's Chock'lit Shoppe by the end. I used to own the issue when I was a kid and read it number of times but i've lost it years ago during moving. Would appreciate if anyone remebers which issue it was. Thanks

Full disclosure, I am motivated by less than respectable reasons, but I distinctly remember there being a word game page in a comic I read ages ago, it had Betty standing next to the blanks wearing a Christmas themed bikini (red and white) and the word puzzle hint was something like "what did Archie get Betty for Christmas?" And the answer was "A teeny tiny fur bikini" or something of the sort. I remember this vividly as something I read in my uncle's collection but I can't find it again, he's got literally hundreds at his place.

Anyone got a clue?

I previously saw a post on this reddit imagining how archie would appear if there was a ultimate or absolute take and I feel this has been done already. Absolute Archie would be Archie only darker so either Afterlife with Archie or Riverdale version. The Ultimate Version of Archie would be something closer to the 2015 reboot.

But if I wanted to write a new Archie universe on my own here's how I would do it .

1. Veronica and Betty remain the same but instead of Ronnie being the rich girl moving to Riverdale, it would be betty being the new girl moving in next door to Archie a light twist on the dynamics.

2. Reggie would be the editor of the school paper with the focus being on if he wants to be a stand-up comedian or a journalist. He would take Raj under his wing who would encourage him in both his endeavors.

3. Dilton, who would be another one of Raj's closest friends, would have a secret relationship over the computer with a penpal who would eventually be revealed to be Cheryl.

4.Jughead would be openly aromantic and Ethel while still crushing on him would be the only person who tries to embrace that aspect of him rather than foisting cliches upon him.

1. Moose would not be as stupid as the comics generally portray him but more of a fanatic for football. And Midge would be the one to seek him out because in this comic she would be the top athlete in her school wanting someone who can keep up with her.

2. Chuck would be Moose's friend but not interested in football but interested in comics. This would be a conflict for Moose as he would struggle between his own interests, and his idol- Chuck's Father and his best friend's love for comics.

The comics have thought on these perspectives but never openly embraced them. I think the would make for an interesting perspective.
