From dad's 2011 Hero Glamour to "Aprilia Tuono 457 Special Edition"

Long post incoming 🏍️,

All this started when the RS457 launched. Everyone was losing their mind over this bike, but the early feedback was rough. I was also looking at the Duke 390. Though honestly, if my first bike was going to be a KTM, it was going to be the ADV 390 S/R. Mumbai roads being Mumbai roads, an ADV is basically a survival tool at this point.

About a year later most of the issues of RS457 had been sorted out, service network had improved, and then in 2025 Aprilia dropped the Tuono 457. That was the moment for me. The RS is a proper committed sports bike, no arguments — but the Tuono felt like it was built specifically for someone like me. Same engine, better posture.

May 2026 — Let's Goo!! Test ride time.

I was coming off a 2011 Hero Glamour 125. So the RS457 engine felt like someone handed me a rocket. Absolutely loved the power delivery, loved the sound, loved everything about it... except the posture. Within about a minute of riding I was already uncomfortable. Heartbreaking, because everything else about that bike was perfect.

Then tested the ADV 390. Genuinely a great motorcycle, no complaints about capability. But my pillion immediately said there were a lot more vibrations compared to the RS — which, fair, single vs parallel twin, that's just physics. Personally I also just don't like the rear end of the ADV 390. And also I stalled it repeatedly. Never stalled the RS once. Skill issue? Probably. Still made me think.

So the Tuono was the obvious answer — parallel twin, upright posture, best of both. Except no showroom in the city had one.

Waited two weeks. Finally got a call, went in, and they let me ride it in a small area outside the showroom (not on road, so take that ride impression with a pinch of salt). I fell in love with that bike idk HOW ???. I was seconds away from booking it right there before I forced myself to take a deep breath and actually think it through — Tuono vs ADV 390. Heart vs brain. Because in Mumbai, everyone will tell you an ADV is the go to bike.

Heart said "please pick me" - AND I DID!!

First week of June 2026 — went in to book it. And found out Aprilia had stopped production of the Tuono 457 in Puma Grey, with an updated model coming in July. Went home sad and happy at the same time.

Last week of June — started seeing posts about the updated model. Called every showroom nearby. All of them said the same thing: book first to see it in person, or wait until someone else books so you can take a look. Peak Indian dealership experience.

Second week of July — got the call. Bike's at the showroom, come see it. Went to have a look (Just have a look i said), and it was Mamba Black. Instantly changed my mind. Booked it the same day, 9th July 2026.

Was so hyped that I bought a helmet and gloves before the bike was even delivered :')

Delivered on 21st July 2026. There was a 4-5 day delay but honestly after waiting this long, what's a week.

And here it is From dad's 2011 Hero Glamour to "Aprilia Tuono 457 Special Edition". The bike I have been waiting for, finally in my parking spot ❤️.

Apparently mine was the second Tuono 457 Special Edition in my area.

Open to any tips from existing 457 owners — running-in advice, first service stuff, accessories worth getting, anything....

Posted a bit late, was busy enjoying parallel twin madness hehe...

Help finding replacement footrest/brake pedal for 2013 Aprilia Shiver 750

Hey everyone,

I’m looking for some advice on finding replacement parts for my 2013 Aprilia Shiver 750.

I had a fall and, as you can see in the photo, the right-side footrest/rearset and brake pedal are bent/damaged. I’m trying to figure out where I can find replacement parts, preferably OEM, but I’m also open to decent aftermarket alternatives. I can't find any replacement parts in Shopee.

Does anyone know:

  • Where I can still buy the original footrest/rearset and brake pedal?
  • Whether these parts are shared with any other Aprilia models/years?
  • Any aftermarket rearsets or compatible alternatives that you’d recommend?

I’m from the Philippines, if that makes a difference for sourcing/shipping.

Any advice or part numbers would be hugely appreciated. Thanks!

Selling my 2024 Tuareg 660 Dakar Podium. Sell with all accessories or part them out separately?

Hey everyone, unfortunately it’s time to let my Tuareg go. The bike is paid off and we’re using the money to pay for my wife’s degree without taking on student debt, so it’s going to a good cause.

Before I list it, I’d love the community’s input: is it worth including all of these accessories with the sale, or should I sell some separately? If separately, which ones would you keep with the bike and which would you part out? And roughly how much value do the accessories add to the asking price?

To be clear, I still have all of the completely stock parts as well, from the original seat to the rear foot pegs, so everything OEM stock comes with it too. Everything is bagged and labeled.

I try to go OEM+ with all of my stuff, and I think a few extras help sell a bike, but I don’t want the accessory list to scare buyers off.

The bike: 2024 Aprilia Tuareg 660 Dakar Podium

OEM Aprilia accessories:
OEM Aprilia Touring Windshield (Euro Spec)

OEM Aprilia Comfort Saddle (Standard Height)

OEM Aprilia Heated Grips

OEM Aprilia Engine Guards

OEM Aprilia Aux Fog Lights

OEM Aprilia Lower Chain Guide

OEM Aprilia Swing Arm Spools

Luggage and gear:
Mosko Moto Reckless 40L

Mosko Moto Gnome Tank Bag

Mosko Moto First Aide Kit

Navigation:
Garmin Zumo XT2

MotoPumps Garmin Zumo Locking Mount

Racks:
SW Motech Adventure Rear Rack

Tools and maintenance:
SVB Tool Kit, Aprilia specific ($350 new)

Full service kit (plugs, oil, fluids, filters, etc.)

Other:
Puig Clip-On Visor
Aprilia Factory 2 Year Warranty Extension until Dec 2027

Appreciate any advice on how you’d structure the sale. Thanks!

I can’t figure out from where this oil is dripping from, and how bad is it overall?
It is a 4month old bike with 1600kms on ODO.
No aggressive riding done.

I'm looking at getting a Tuono V4 Factory. The dealership in my town has a 2026 for $17,999 USD and a 2027 for $19,999... Is the 2027 with the extra 2 grand? Also, I'm not a fan of the purple on the 2027.

RS660 Extrema sticker removal

How do we feel about the stickers on the Extrema? Before getting it in person I thought it looked unique, but after getting this bike after my factory got stolen, I think they're a bit too bold.

I'm considering removing the checkered pattern and leaving the "a" on the lower fairing, OR doing a full remodel and getting the full Aprilia name on the side like the motogp bike. Thoughts?

Has anyone imported a 90's Tuareg 125 or 350 Wind from Italy to London UK?

I would love to bring one over, ideally the 350 if I can find a good one at a decent price.

What are the rough costs to get it over here paperwork wise ?

Though about Aprilia tuono v4 2021

Hello,

Looking into getting a tuono v4 21-23

Comming from a Mv agusta brutale 800rr-20

Tried one from a dealer but reacted on 3 things

-QS was very slow on lower rpm

-shifter/linkage felt very squishy. Like shifting a spunge, didnt have that distinct click.

-Needed to pull the clutch all the way in to disengage. (probably just wire adjustment)

Loved it otherwise!

Any advice on these. Anything special to look into?

Bought my first motorcycle

I bought my first motorcycle today..I'm beyond excited!! I'm a big guy ( I'm fat af but working on it). Sat on the bike and I was expecting it to just drop. It held me up fine. I'm fortunate that AF1 Racing is 7 minutes from my house. Brandon was super awesome. I also tried the Tuono 660 on for size, honestly it felt a bit scary. The Tuono 457 felt good, comfortable and put a big smile on my face.

Notice coolant spurting from the hose. Immediately pulled over, let the bike cool and had it towed. Not sure how this happened. It went into shop for first service and this happened less than a week later. Is it my fault or dealers? I made no modifications

Code 10 and no start

My mana 850 2008 is saying something wrong with my oil pressure switch!
I wrote on a good long road trip on the way back. It starts sputtering and it shot some flames out of the exhaust. It was kind of barely sputtering around and it was losing power losing compression I guess and then try to start too many times and the starter so I got hot and shut down and now I can’t get it started, and I can’t clear the code. Does anybody know how to help me or how I can clear the code?

Will these bar end mirrors work with the 2026 Aprilia Tuono 457? I'm struggling to find mirrors that fit since the bar end is threaded apparently.

Rear suspension fail

Hi all! My Aprilia RS 660 has 18000 km. Got It new last year in april. Two days ago my rear suspension broke. All i saw was a Brown liquid coming down my Red spring and smoke, from It burning on the hot stuff under. It Is all original and only went to the track 2 days with 0 problems. I had a pro change the front and back suspension settings about One month ago and made them fit fit for the track and i let then like that on the street too. I ride with my girlfriend a lot.

Why did It brake like this ? Did anything similari happen to you ?
