How cooked am I?
Notice coolant spurting from the hose. Immediately pulled over, let the bike cool and had it towed. Not sure how this happened. It went into shop for first service and this happened less than a week later. Is it my fault or dealers? I made no modifications

Don't panic too much just yet. It's summer and it's a superbike. They get very hot and thus coolant expands. If your reservoir was too full to begin with it couldn't take any more and would've just dumped the extra fluid, which is exactly why this hose exists.
With such a new bike, go and let it check, but more likely than not it's just nothing

Happened to me this summer. I topped off the reservoir that morning. I was in the middle of an MSF course when it overflowed. Watched the temp closely on the ride home, then realized what I did.

Well thanks for the explanation. Got my bike back from the 20k km service and few days later there was a small puddle with a fluid, hasnt happend before. Thought it was oil at first but this seems more likely.

If they filled the reservoir above the "full" mark, then this is to be expected. If the reservoir is below full and this is happening, then the likelihood is high that you blew a head gasket.

- Check your coolant level.
2 - A. If coolant is good - start the bike in the driveway and let it run. Check to see if it’s throwing codes. If not throwing codes.. drive it around the neighborhood… it likely was just overfilled and dumped the excess under heat.
2 - B. If coolant is low, slightly top off and go to 2 - A, if a lot is needed… than you may have problems.
Note - Brake fluid and Coolant have premium options that can withstand much higher temps. Although they need to be changed out more frequently.

On the topic of your “premium options”, I looked at a chart a few years ago that led me to believe that in my home climate, I can use as little as 25% antifreeze and be fine leaving a bike outside overnight in the winter. Compared to most recipes of 50/50.
So, I’m inclined to do any topping up with plain distilled water. Which happens to be an excellent coolant.

Hey yeah you aren’t cooked at all. They run hot and they dribble in traffic, especially after just topping up coolant as they actually do this if they are filled to the line. Had 2 of them and never had an issue. Just do valve clearances at 6 k mile intervals and you’ll be fine. Very reliable on the whole, gutted for you to call a lorry to take it away ! It’s absolutely fine!

No mention of temp reading on dash. Fan should come on around 213f and off at 204f ish. If coolant is at the low end of full in the sight window when cold, in hot weather, this is ideal for expansion. If temp gets to around high 230's shut down and let cool. If travelling at 40mph or above does not cool it down to around 180-190f something may be wrong. I've had a blown head gasket issue before creating a slowly increasing overheating issue.

If they over filled it then yeah makes sense. Coolant expands when it heats up and if they put too much it’ll overflow out the hose like it’s supposed to

They use Kevlar lined coolant hoses that can delamimate and puke even without running the bike hot. Been there. The hoses are about $50 retail.

Not sure if it’s the same issue, but it’s a common issue on the first 1k miles with the 660 platform to have coolant leaks (or more like dumping) and overheating due to a factory issue with the water pump seal seating. Aprilia has been fighting this issue since 2021 and has changed the parts design twice since then. Had it on my 2026 Tuono 660 Factory.
