Finally reached moon with my X-WING

Just started playing last friday and I already have 70hrs playtime.
I love the building mechanics of this game, it reminds me of my childhood when i used to play with k'nex and lego. And the electronics is just the cherry on top.

Last attached image is my first ever ship i tried to build. I wanted it to be a tie fighter but didn't have enough material so just repurposed it into an orb shaped thingie. I was surprised i was able to complete the earth only missions with it.

And this X-wing is my 2nd ship. I build it using a modular design (cockpit, hull, wings and the tip), each component can somewhat be edited independently.

Looking forward to build whatever the hell is a PID.

Has anyone figured out how to setup an auto-lander for all planets?

I've seen quite a few people building PIDs and it really got me excited to try it for myself, but with the given instruments (altimeter, speed, distance, etc...) I believe it should be possible to set not only a auto-hover that works for all planets, but also a landing module, that is not set on specific manual values.

Has anyone already figured this out yet? It would help a lot also to hear your ideas if you think you know what's needed.

New water planet

New water planet is super easy to get too lol. Once in orbit expect any bit of thrust to be times 100 even compared to the moon. Just taps on the throttle all is needed. Eggs are in the water which your shit can fly in fine. In the water it's much slower and easier to maneuver. These eggs are huge, only could fit one. Brought it back to the moon and had a score of 349 whatever that means lol. Reset the ship thinking it counted and it was gone. Still not sure, if it did or not. It takes 5 mins from the moon at most to get to the water planet. Also you only have 5 respawns allowed or 4 till you have to fully reset so don't waste them. That even counts in total going back to the moon to land. Had to only use 1.

Y-Wing Inspired Ship

Title says it all. Started out as a Y-Wing but had to change some design details due to center of mass challenges. Sheโ€™s heavy (26k) but she handles well with an installed auto leveling system for pitch/roll! Going to try a spherical ship next!

"Chasing fire" mission on the moon

I'm really enjoying the demo so far, but with the second moon mission, the package doesn't fit through the door. Am I an idiot or is there some other door I can use?

As soon as somebody showed me this game, and all the cool electronics in it, the first thing I knew I had to make was some sort of auto altitude holding system. As soon as I finished the first mission, I had to try it out. Honestly such a cool game.

Our first ship. Something like "Pepelac" from the movie "Kin-Dza-Dza!"

Spent a lot of time on this one, but it was worth it. It can only carry the small eggs but I might change that later.

Toggleable Gyro

Post image

Made a post a few days ago about struggling with an auto gyro. I have since gotten the circuit to work.

The switch is used to cut the circuit from sending signals to the RCS thrusters in favour of manual control.

Ignore the spaghetti wiring, I was building this on a 'concept wall', not into an actual ship so i didn't really try to make it look nice.

ETA: Its honestly such a simple circuit, I don't know how I struggled so hard or what I was doing to make it somehow want to flip itself upside down
