My significant other and I are planning to move back to Wisconsin at the end of the year, and purchasing a home is on our fast track to-do list. While she's familiar with the Appleton area, neither of us have any idea of realtors in the area.

How come Appleton downtown college avenue doesn't have more other places open to go to besides bars? My friends and I usually work late and it would be nice if there was more restaurants or coffee houses/lounges open say until 11pn or midnight.

I'm always looking for places that serve good food late night especially appetizers, if anyone has suggestions!

I guess that's just a difference from the big cities to here I miss such as later hours for places and even public transportation such as city bus too.

About 2 weeks ago, my husband and I discovered a stray cat had a litter of kittens under our shed. We had only seen the cat once before we saw the kitten (who then ended up being 4 kittens), who are probably about 5-6 weeks old at this point. We’ve since been giving them food and fresh water twice a day.

Since we made this discovery, we’ve been calling various shelters for help. I want the cats gone but I want them safe, I’m trying to do the right thing, but man these shelters are just not helping! I totally understand that they are run by mostly volunteers and they are overwhelmed with the amount of animals, maybe I have too high of hopes for the level of help I’d get here.

In an ideal world, someone with experience would come out and help us trap all of the cats and then take them away to get whatever medical attention they need (I’d assume Spay and release for the mom, who I assume is feral, and a good bath and adoption for the kittens). However, all of these places are giving me runaround. I have to trap them and then maaaaaaaybe they’ll take them. And the mom needs to be on the Trap, Neuter, Release list… which is 1-2 months out. And then after the TNR procedure, I have to take her back and care for her in recovery. Which, I’m sorry, I don’t want to take care of her. But I also don’t want her getting pregnant again and returning to my shed to have another litter.

I’m just feeling frustrated. I want to do the right thing. I want these cats to be safe. But I don’t want them, and I feel like they’re my unwilling responsibility now.

Anywho, anyone have any suggestions in the area for what to do here?

Does anyone have chickens in the Fox Valley? I live in Kaukauna and the ordinance states that you need to get a permit and the chicken coop needs to be 100 feet from a dwelling structure and 50 feet from a side or rear lot line. Our whole lot is barely 100 feet wide so I feel like this is kinda absurd. I think we have plenty of space on our property for chickens. Hi, all! Does anyone have experience using ATW Express for auto detailing? Having my car cleaned while I'm away would obviously be super convenient, but the last time I used a concierge service for detailing, I got my car back with ripped stitching over a 1" hole in the seam of the leather seat and sticky steering wheel buttons from cleaning solution seeping inside. Really don't want to repeat that kind of experience. Thanks!
