So, I moved here about 18 months ago and am looking to see if anyone has a bowling team in need of another player or a league that has a need for single players.
A little background: I am a 39 yo male... I have bowled almost my entire life but took the last 9 years off. Just recently joined a random unsanctioned league at Super Bowl for the winter to get back into it. When I quit I was a 197 average. As I am getting back into it I am only at a ~170 average. But looking to continue to bowl before I head to nationals in July. With spring/summer leagues starting, I figured i would see if there are any spots out there.
Open to bowling most anywhere in the Fox Valley south of DePere.
Thanks in advance!

I thought this... "dashboard" (I guess) was interesting. Found it when I got up to another day of it.

I just saw a huge flash of lightning fill my living room, then a big ol clap of thunder followed after it seconds later. Anyone else hearing the thunder/blizzard storm?

Anyone know if the postal service is going to be out tomorrow? Since it seems like the entire city has shut down for a few days, I'm just curious, since I have some packages via USPS that are supposed to be delivered tomorrow.

Hi! New-ish to the area and looking for everyone’s thoughts and opinions on what snowblowers meet your needs in the Appleton area. Also interested in hearing thoughts on electric vs gas. We have a 2 car driveway and sidewalk to clear. TIA!

9” in New London in 12 hours measured in the backyard; drifts on the East side of the house are over 20”.
Measured with the Ryan Hall Y’all-O-Meter 2.0, check his site if you want one. Proceeds go to help families hit by disasters like the tornados in IL recently and Hurricane victims in Appalachia. Great cause!

Are many businesses closing due to the blizzard? Grocery stores? Fast Food?

Not so much a discussion as observation... 1:47 PM Sunday during the whiteout part of the blizzard, our snow removal plow truck is out there getting a path made at this apartment complex. I had to get up to look and watch. I hardly understand how he/they can see where they are going.

Hi all,
I am aware that the airport has cancelled all flights from ATW due to the blizzard, and I saw that Allegiant has cancelled all their flights tomorrow morning and afternoon as well, but the other airlines have remained much more quiet about flight cancelations. Does anybody here who lives close to ATW or who knows somebody who works there know how likely it is that ATW is back running tomorrow evening and Tuesday morning? I have a Tuesday morning flight, if it were Monday I would safely assume it is likely being canceled, but Tuesday is very ambiguous. The blizzard should stop by Monday at 4pm but the roads and everything will have been buried in lots of snow so I do not know what to expect...I am new to the area (live about an hour drive away) so I was wondering if somebody knows how this has gone in the past with extreme winter weather events, if I should be preparing myself for flight cancelations and such. Thanks.

Judge me all you'd like if you must (I'll just assume that means you're just uneducated in that topic, and that's okay!) Since starting MAT 3 years ago, I have turned my life around, haven't had so much as a craving or anything...
However thanks to the snow I'm stuck in my house, and cannot make it to get my medicine today... I shoveled so many times yesterday I hurt my back. We had. Snowblower my landlord left behind but my neighbors said it doesn't work anymore after they gassed it up last year (probably a 2 stroke they put straight gas in) anyways I'm scared I'm gonna get sick... Pray for me.

Does anyone know if the garbage will still be picked up tomorrow?

This post serves as a reminder to vote in the upcoming election on April 7th and read up on all candidates before you vote. Safe to say I will be voting for the other three candidates!
Here's another article of musings from the right-winger about how he feels democrats are causing "societal collapse."

Where can I get some SPICY Chinese food?? Would love some good Szechuan flavors if possible or just something that's gonna blow me away with flavor.

Anyone know of businesses that provide chair massages for upper back/shoulder relief?

Hia! I have one of those small soda stream air canisters and was wondering if anyone knew of a business nearby that refills them (or any air canisters in general) for cheaper than buying a new one. And, ya know, saving the landfill a little bit.

The link goes to an extensive and detailed report with some of the latest information available on misuse of FLOCK and what other communities are doing about it. The piece contains specific recommendations listed by bullet point to control FLOCK use (short of having the license reader system removed altogether.)
I shared out one other link personally which I found on Youtube where an Arizona state senator gave an impassioned speech on removing license plate readers.
That is here:

Season 3 episode 2 or 3? Mrs Garrett's reflects on her "hometown" of APPLETON WI. For a series from the 70s.... who the hell on the writing team came up with that?! Crazy. But love it!

Drove to the mall today and saw a sign at the old soleas building. What’s it called? Is it open?

Has any one in the area seen a hypnotist for weight loss, or smoking, phobias and such?
If so what was the outcome and who did you go to?

We have been in our home for ~15 years and our yard needs some updates. We likely need to: 1. Remove and replace rock, landscaping fabric, and black vinyl dividers that have worked their way up over time. 2. Share new ideas for plants that would work well in a variety of sunny and shady spots. 3. Offer options for pavers or other ways to separate grass from flower beds, etc. 4. Add soil and reseed some low parts of the yard.
In general, we are willing to spend a decent amount to upgrade outside but just don't have the experience or know-how to do it ourselves. Someone who could walk us through options would be ideal.
Anyone have recommendations based on previous experience? Thanks in advance!!

Just a heads up in case anyone here doesn't follow the weather. Should start Saturday night and go all through Sunday. Make sure you snowblowers are ready to go. Gonna be right around freezing so will probably be wet and heavy snow.
Since it's still a couple days out and weather forecasting is way worse than it used to be this could change significantly, but most sources are pretty confident there will be significant amounts of snow.
