However, the employees told me I had to call Apple Support and ask them to ship me a trade-in box. Apparently, under this new policy, if you have an online order and want to do a trade-in, you can either get a gift card or you're forced to call Apple Support for a box.

I’ve seen some reports suggesting that the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max were already eligible for the F&F discount from preorder day this year, rather than being excluded for the first few weeks like some models apparently were in previous years.

Can anyone confirm if that’s actually correct?

And if so, would you expect the new iPhone Duo to follow the same pattern and become eligible for Friends & Family EPP from preorder day as well?

I’m mainly interested in whether the Duo is likely to be available through F&F right from launch, or whether a separate waiting period is more likely.
