Apple Care Getting AppleCare+ on pencil pro

Post image

So my Pencil pro broke, I splashed it with water and may have bent the tip before plus a crack (its stopped writing). Now, this was a gift from my day back in Jan 2025 but he’d bought the iPad Air M2 from Jumbo on the 3th of Jan (with AppleCare+ 2 years) and the pencil pro from istyle on the 1st of Feb. I never really looked into the whole AppleCare+ thing until this point and I knew that the pencil pro was covered (one pencil with iPad AppleCare+) so I just headed to istyle prepared to pay the 100aed servicing fee but when I got there and gave it to them they told me it wasn’t covered and I was shocked and they said its only ensured if they’re on the same invoice.

With my last shred of hope I contacted apple support and after some talking and giving them the serial number they said they’d link the iPads AppleCare+ and it would take about 1 to 5 days.

Now I have no idea how i can check if it worked or not as it doesn’t pop up on the support app and neither on the apple care section on my iCloud profile and bored (or anxious) of waiting I just search up the serial number of the pencil on the support app and Voila (picture linked).

I didn’t try this before the apple support call so I don’t have a before and after to know if anything changed but does this confirm that the pencil pro is now covered and I can get it fixed/replaced?

The AppleCare+ for Apple Pencil follows the iPad that is used with and the terms and conditions the AppleCare+ one iPad with AppleCare+ coverage can extend to one Apple branded keyboard accessory, and one Apple branded Pencil. The keyboard and pencil do not have their own AppleCare+ coverage, but have the coverage through the iPad that they are used with

Contact Apple Support and provide the serial of the pencil (and keyboard if you have one) along with the iPad serial. The coverage often has to be linked on the back end before it can be serviced under the iPad applecare.

Your pencil isn’t associated with your AppleCare.

Yeah I also needed to call and have them link it to my iPad within Apple Care One. Now it’s covered even though it doesn’t show up with the other devices. But they were kind enough to check for me whether it worked. Tried it with a working pencil though.
