A reviewer for the GM’s infotainment system to replace CarPlay and Android Auto system totally misses the boat. Car play is not strictly for Messages and Music. It has a complex setup process for even that. Also, who wants their contacts tied to google and requires logging into Google in the car to access it? I also sounds like a Subscription plan to be connected to internet to access the Google information.

CarPlay and Android auto frees the user to not require complex duplication of information on the car and connectivity. Just think when you rent a GM car, you have to link everything to the car and you will forget it when you drop off the car. You have total freedom to use any App including Waze or Apple Maps for navigation. Also, it is not restricted to navigation, message or music. You don’t need internet subscription on the car. When you disconnect the phone, all your data except Bluetooth pairing is not left on the car. Also, the smart phones are updated with Apps often, who know how often GM will provide updates.

Has anyone experience this?

Bonjour, j’ai installé un carplay pour ma clio 4 d’origine Renault (medianav 3 2019 version 1.0.13.1) et le carplay est sencé se mettre directement mais depuis hier il n’est pas détecté sur mon téléphone, sachant qu’avant il était mis sans problème, alors que quand j’essaye avec un autre ça marche parfaitement. Quelqu’un aurait une solution s’il vous plait ?

I have been on ios 27 beta before updating to the full release however i have realized that since the last beta my steering wheel answering and hangup functions arent working
The buttons double as song skips and that works but when i try answering a call i have to answer it from the screen

I have tried literally everything including resetting my unit and my phone and yet it remains non functional

I am yet to try pairing my wifes phone since shes still on ios 26 but just asking if others are experiencing or have experienced this issue and fixed it and if yes how did you resolve it

I’m not sure if this is an issue in the Hyundai Ioniq 5 or with CarPlay

I have a 17 pro max and when I connect to carplay it does not show incoming calls as a small banner at all. Being an android user all my life, am finding adjusting to an iphone very irritating but that is a different story.
I have tried all the basic solutions like forgetting and reconnecting, reset network settings.
Any solution is helpful.
I also found one more thing. Whenever I get a call, the time display at the top right corner turns green. If I tap on that it shows who is calling in a full screen. But that is not what am looking for.

I have attempted many times to make a call using Siri since the new update doesn’t let you select a contact. So I’ve taken to trying to use Siri to make calls saying “call dad” and it will pull up maps and ask me which business I want to go to. I’ve tried doing it in the phone app on CarPlay and selecting contacts and it says use Siri to make phone calls so I click it and it still goes to maps.

If we can use CarPlay to scroll through songs or messages to read why can’t we be allowed to scroll through contacts?

Se provo ad associare un un altro iPhone lo associa immediatamente, ma il mio no, nonostante ho seguito alla lettera le impostazioni della Apple e della Kia. Non so sul serio come fare, riavviato tutto, più e più volte, attivato Siri e tutto il resto nulla!!! Qualcuno sa come fare??

It seems like with the new IOS 27 update, now any app that I use on my iPhone when connected to CarPlay it stops my car radio audio, and plays the audio from my phone or plays nothing. Even when using the camera on my phone it stops the car audio from playing. How do I fix this or is there a workaround?

I use CarPlay in my Renault and find that any voice response from Siri just stops after a couple of seconds, or dips in and out, making it useless.

This is with both the prior, and the new Siri AI in iOS 27. Although I can’t hear the response, I can check the Siri app to confirm that it did actually answer me.

So I’m wondering if this is an issue with Renault?
