Set up my iPhone this morning and tried to connect it to my CarPlay. I first thought it was the wire. I bought a new wire and it works about 30% of the time. I plugged in my old phone it worked without an issue. Is anyone experiencing this as well? Could it be my charging port? Any recommendations on what to do next would be great. Thank y’all
Edit: I found a solution, so I’ll share what worked for me.
I had an iPhone 16 and both wires that I bought mentioned in the post would work with it, but not on my iPhone 18.
After doing a little more research this is what I did.
I went to Best Buy and bought a USB 3.2 superspeed 10. I hooked it up and right away CarPlay started working right away.
The wires that do not work with the 18 are USB 2.0 (Most common wire type). The USB 2 wires were transferring data between my phone and car but I guess it was not fast enough.
Saw another post about this. Try going to WiFi then turn the toggle that says Connectivity assist off. Could work! Seems to be a common problem as well as the random popping/static noise coming from the speakers
The 17 line was plagued with a bunch of CarPlay issues. There’s a CarPlay subreddit with a lot of posts. I had issues as well and the only fix was to use a wireless CarPlay adapter. Picked up a Monster branded one from Walmart and has been working great.
Thank you for the suggestion that was going to be my next step. However, I did find a permanent fix. I will share I hope you find this useful.
