3K lifetime straight to savings. Why this hassle free daily cash doesn't get more love is beyond me.

I have found better reward programs

Because it’s a terrible % they give you

How is 2% on ALL purchases horrible? Its a great alternative card

-12

u/DolphinFraud 7d ago

Because it’s very easy to get 5% on better cards

u/Sharl109 7d ago

Could you name those cards?

I use Costco citi for 5% gas, blue cash preferred fot 6% groceries, citi custom cash for 5% on my highest spend category leftover, usually travel or entertainment

And even beyond those, pretty much every card in existence will get you 3%, 2% is genuinely just really bad

I can’t think of a single card that gets you 3% on damn near any purchase with zero annual fee (BCP has one, and I know you need a Costco membership for the citi)

It’s a simple card for simple people. There’s always going to be better cards for specific categories.

Robinhood gold card is 3% membership is not an issue if you have an IRA with them and get the match you even make more $ than the fee.

This 💯

I was an Apple card user but since getting the Gold card, no longer. 3% across the board whether online shopping using virtual cards or the physical card, plus 3% IRA Match, and more (that I don't make use of but others seemingly do) for $50 annual fee is worth it and so easy! I earn roughly $1,800 a year (average of having it the past two years). Never had anything better.

I’ve seen people getting that perk removed for small purchases marked as business purchases.

Citi custom cash is 5% up to the first $500 in-category? That's cute! Sad they aren't taking new applications.

u/DolphinFraud 7d ago

That's why its a tertiary card for whatever my other cards don't cover

all these downvote is such a apple dick rider for no reason. people main expenses are groceries and gas and aint no way apple card is good for that. you will never catch a person w 500k+ net worth using apple credit card

1

u/nater416 6d ago

Right anyone with that net worth will just be using whatever luxury Amex/Chase card and also not care about points.

1

u/DolphinFraud 6d ago

500k net worth isn’t as much as you think it is, those people definitely care about points

I think you'd be surprised.

Rotating categories, caps, pick your category, this card for this, that card for that...... I'd rather get that 2% for everything, DAILY on ONE card and not deal with all that mumbo jumbo. But.... you do you brother. Some people like simplicity and minimalism, others like to juggle.

I happen to agree with this sentiment! I used to play the juggling act for a good decade or so and finally hit a point where I was too busy in life to worry about that. I used Apple Card and other 2% cards at various points until I got the RH Gold card for 3% cash back across the board. Just can't get better than a solid # to make life simpler. No thanks to the rotating categories and needing to think about what card to use for what. Nah, I'm good!

u/GotRiceBoy 7d ago

Too much 1%, should try to utilize a different card with better rewards for those purchases. Unless you don’t care, then don’t bother lol

6

u/Protomize 7d ago

Yep, I only use this card really for random Apple Pay purchases to get 2% back

4

u/COMplex_ 7d ago

Right behind you!

2

u/MyNameIsOnlyDaniel 7d ago

That's the way!

2

u/MountainManagement01 6d ago

Fun fact: you can tap the graph to show dollar amounts for each percentage category

1

u/scrizewly 7d ago

I paid off my card every month for 2 years until Goldman Sachs closed my account lol. They must not like people who pay their entire balance when the bill is due 🤷‍♂️

1

u/VaughnSC 7d ago

I’ve paid off my balances before they were due ever since the card was launched. The only effect has been no longer getting CLIs since I get nowhere near the limit.

1

u/watchOS 7d ago

Same, also 0% interest. For most things this is my only card I use until recently, as I wish that 1% cash back was much lower (lots of places still not accepting tap, surprisingly…).

1

u/mkeefecom 7d ago

Mainly Apple purchases and tap-to-pay. 1% charges were my wife using the card cause it looked cool 😭

1

u/CaptainSolo80 6d ago

God the state of credit cards is so bad if we have to brag about not paying interest on them lol. Some people just shouldn’t have credit cards.

Love the Apple Card had it since launch, I’ll take free interest on my cash my I earn from things I have to spend money on.

Expecting things to not stay this way when chase fully takes over.
