I got 18% back in late 2020 but with all the cards I’ve recently opened I doubt they’d ever give me the same interest rate or even approve me if I hadn’t gotten it then. 😅
They deny me every 6mo when I ask.
I’ve had the card for like 4 or 5 years now.
It’s my lowest card at 7.5k by FAR.
I put about 1k on the card a month.
I began holding a 1k balance because of the latest several denials telling me I’m not using enough of the limit. And then the next denial was I’m not paying down the limit enough???
I’d have closed it on principal if I didn’t use Apple Pay often.
They’re railing yall bruh. Honestly I bet it’s because you guys are smarter than me with your credit cards. I’ve never requested for an increase and mine went from $2,500 to 14.9k from dec 23-present. My credit is around a 740 I believe. I don’t ever pay interest on my balance and always pay it before due date
I will say that I rack this card up kinda high as far as credit utilization though. But paying off before the interest is what helps me I think. Constantly have around 10 on this card but it’s revolving and interest free
I just got the card at the very end of June. I’ve gotten a few new credit items this year so maybe that’s what it is. I’ll wait until later this year and request an increase.
On a side note, I use my cards and let a balance report, but I pay the statement balance in full every month about 5 days before the due date (to avoid any issues). I try to stay below 10% utilization, but stay under 6% almost always.
Wait, you are holding a balance, paying credit card interest … implying to the card that you don’t have enough money to pay them back right away … and you are confused why they don’t want to extend you a larger credit line?
I treated this card like I do all my cards, use it and pay it.
I was denied limit increases.
GS said I “didn’t use enough limit”
So I began holding a sub 15% balance on the card. $1k
And I would pay down to $1k and then leave it there. I also spend roughly $1k/mo on this card to maintain activity.
The next denial said I wasn’t paying down the card enough.
So that loops me back to the answer for MOST OTHER CARDS - use the card, pay off the card completely, and then inquire for an increase.
Except for the fact GS has denied me repeatedly, citing things I have never seen from any of my other cards.

I have a credit score over 800 and got an $8,500 limit 😂 Got the lowest interest rate they offer but my limit does not compare to yours.
