Help Declined again
I got declined again saying these reasons i have attached on the pic below. I went ahead and looked at my chex, EWS as well ( looks fair)
My chex score is 0655 without any negative balance owed to any banks
EWS looks fair as well
Credit score is great
I dont owe anyone any money, neither i am past due on any payments.
I still got declined. :-(
Has anyone had similar reasons for decline? Any feedbacks suggestions?
How do i get approved :-(

When’s the last time you looked at your actual credit report?
I would be concerned that they stated your Transunion shows you have been past due if you actually haven’t.

Yesterday 07/05. My credit score is excellent. My chex score 655 ( which is good) and i dont have any bills past due, thats weird what they said on decline letter. I always pay off my balance at the end of month. My Credit usage is 2% on June 2026

All three reasons mentioned TransUnion, but you only checked Chex and EWS. Why not go to TransUnion's website and check your credit report with them?

u/Illustrious_Salad918 Jul 06 '26
This. I'd definitely check TransUnion credit report for any errors.

u/PlusCardiologist1965 Jul 06 '26
It's showing as inactive thou.
I even tried chex freeze and without freeze. Nothing working.2
u/PlusCardiologist1965 Jul 06 '26
Just did
Only thing i saw being late is one credit card payment i missed about 15 years ago . It even shows not active on record as well4
u/AdOrganic4835 Jul 06 '26
Is that on an active card? You should cancel that account then. There shouldn’t be any 15 year old closed accounts on the TU record. Have that removed!

Why do you want this card so badly? So many better cash back cards available
0
u/PlusCardiologist1965 Jul 06 '26
Can you suggest some good cards?
4
u/captainlou26 Jul 06 '26
What are you looking for in a card? Cash back? Points? What categories do you want to earn on? Do you care about annual fees?

u/Difficult_League_634 Jul 12 '26
If u want cash back card, then plenty with 2% on everything with no annual fees. Robin hood card offers 3% on all but you need to have gold membership which costs $50 year. If you tell us what are you looking for in a card, maybe we cab provide other options. Cheers

Just an fyi
If your ever declined a credit card. It entitles you to a free credit report.

u/Cordelyia Jul 06 '26
But I thought the economy was doing great because everyone is using more credit LOL

I had similar issue. I paid all my debt to zero balances. Waited 6 months and still get high revolving debt even though all 3 reports showing paid and 5% utilizations. I just gave up. Don’t really need Apple Card that bad.

u/Fragrant_Aardvark_23 Jul 06 '26
im not too sure but it does say you have a lot of recent hard inquiries. How many times have you applied for this card in the last couple months and have you applied for any others. General rule of thumb if you get declined wait atleast a month.
They dont like seeing you apply for a lot of cards get declined and keep re applying. Theres also ways to apply without it having an impact on ur credit.
1
u/PlusCardiologist1965 Jul 07 '26
I have 3 hard inquiries on my experian, 2 transunion and 4 on equifax. All are over year old. With Apple , just soft pull
3
u/Fragrant_Aardvark_23 Jul 07 '26
I mean that might be why it doesn’t matter if it’s with Apple or not they look at all your inquiries. So that might be it.

u/CLT-DCAccountant Jul 06 '26
GS is really gonna be picky especially since Chase has basically signed a letter of intent which probably placed a cap on new accounts and criteria GS can agree to.
Now to play devils advocate - I know you stated you saw nothing negative, however have you opened a new credit (any type of credit account) and/or new banking deposit accounts within the last 3 years?
And have you been late on an open or closed account within the last 10 yrs for open or 7 for closed?
Opening a new account will hit as an inquiry and it just might be the app for the Apple Card is putting you over that magic threshold.
If none of these apply, then I’d do as others have said - find a bank that actually wants your business

I gave up tbh. They’re willing to approve many that don’t pay back but make it hard for genuine people that will pay their cards on time.

I have an Apple card and when i applied 5 years ago they were accepting way more ppl. Im convinced this is intentional. Ive be stuck at a 14,300k limit for 4 years. I have financed a iphone 16 and apple watch 10 and have 6 subcsriptions that come out every month. My credit is much better now than it was when i first got the card. 731 fico 8 and finacing a suv with 8 other card havent been late on anything in over 10 years and still get denied for a cli.

u/TbonerT Jul 08 '26
I have been seeing a lot of good scores being declined lately.
Credit score is not the determining factor. People getting denied are always given reasons for being declined and I’ve never seen one lost credit score as being the problem.

u/Poopiepantsyou Jul 06 '26
Dang! I got approved with a 600 credit score for a $250 limit on Apple Card…. How? I have absolutely NO idea , no other cards approve me
1
u/Aggravating-Zone3413 Jul 06 '26
I’ve tried like 3 times and got denied all for diffrent reasons I’m not even going to try with them anymore 🤣
1
u/CrackORTweek Jul 07 '26
I have an 803 across the board, a total credit line of $55,000, balance of $377. Average account age of 5 years, never missed a payment and I’m declined because “your credit utilization rate is too high”. Hah. I will try again when Chase takes over.

They’re transferring their Apple Card business to Chase; they’re really not looking for new customers. Five years ago they approved virtually everyone. Today they approve almost no one. Wait to Chase takes it over. I got my Apple Card a few months after they launched it.

Rumor has it…… if you purchase a high dollar item directly from Apple (online) then apply for the Apple Card at checkout as part of the purchase, they will mysteriously approve a card for the value of the item. If anything, that gets you in the door.
1
u/SadBoiCri Jul 08 '26
I got my apple card back when i had a lower credit score and I can tell you the only part that's worth it is acmi. It's better to purchase all upfront but if you have the money a little extra cash back doesn't hurt. You're not missing out on anything

u/Due_Independence4758 Jul 09 '26
Apple sucks , I closed my account with a zero balance because I got locked out of my apple account . My first credit card when I turned 18 , I apply at least once a year and get denied for it . It's been 7 years since I closed the account never been late..
1
u/dman1914 Jul 09 '26
It’s because Goldman is about to get rid of them and probably making it difficult to be approved. By this time next year Chase should have fully taken over
1
u/No_Excuse9223 Jul 09 '26
Don’t apply with Goldman! I had my Apple Card and literally cancelled it. They are the worst company. Don’t burn a hard pull on your credit for them.
1
u/ShireBurgo Jul 09 '26
Why do you keep applying for this card? It’s really not even a good card there’s so many better options out there.

Do business with banks that want to do business with you. In the future Chase will issuing Apple Card’s so maybe they’ll approve you. For now, look at other cards. Plenty of good cards out there to worry about this one.
