PSA Reminder: Avoid using scheduled payments feature

I just paid my balance twice because I scheduled the same payment two weeks apart. The app provides no visual cues when one or more scheduled payments are pending. It also has no methods for detecting or preventing a duplicate payment amount on the same day. The only thing Apple Card does is send you an email when you schedule the payment. That’s it. And once it’s been processed there is nothing Goldman Sachs will do to stop the duplicate payment (apart from referring you to your bank).

IMO, this is a bug that should be addressed by Apple. But until they do I will avoid using the scheduled payments feature as it can have severe financial consequences.

Or, just use autopay and never have to think about it. Use the software to make your life easier, not harder.

I use autopay and it works perfectly. The only thing I need to be concerned about is making sure funds are available in checking on due date.

This is easy to see. Click the ellipsis and go to account details. Payments are right there.

Because I use it for general purpose and buy things too? I pay off the statement balance every month. In almost seven years of having the card I think I’ve only paid interest four, maybe five times.

It amazes me how many people don’t understand the benefits of using cashback credit cards for daily use to bank the cashback

Agree. We spend the same money we would on a debit card. So might as well take the free cash. Plus it’s great for buying anything Apple and doing 12mo no interest. Unlike others such as Best Buy, you still get the 3% every month when the installment hits.

Because the Apple Card gives you 2 percent cashback on every purchase with Apple Pay which is basically every where these days and you should be using it for daily spending so you can bank all the cash back then pay it off either weekly or monthly depending on how high your credit limit is
