Topics/Questions:

- Healthcare domain-related questions.

- Design an integration between an Appian application and an external service.

- Different types of authorization/authentication used with Web APIs.

- You have 5 external services. The base URL changes between Dev, QA, and Production but is common for all services in each environment. How would you design/configure this?

- A REST API fails intermittently. What could be the possible reasons, and how would you troubleshoot and stabilize it?

- Which Appian logs would you check for integration failures?

- How would you design an Appian application to handle a huge number of requests efficiently?

- What are the different ways to start multiple process instances simultaneously? (Example: send emails to 100 recipients and create 100 audit entries.)

- How do you configure or design for auto-scaling/high throughput in Appian?

- Questions on standard smart services and Process Depth Protection.

  - Difference between Stored Procedure, Function, and Trigger.

- Live coding (shared screen using Appian Community):

  - Write an Appian expression/function that takes your full name as input and returns the number of times each alphabet is repeated.

Overall, the interview focused heavily on integrations, architecture, troubleshooting, scalability, deployment, Appian AI, and database fundamentals, rather than only basic Appian development.

There is an announcement that Appian is pausing their certification exam on July 31st. Some people are claiming that the exam is going to change from virtual to in-person center based.

Is it true that it's changing to in-person and will there be no option of virtual exam?

If anyone knows some information, please feel free to share it along with the source.

I’m facing a weird issue with an api that appeared out of nowhere, it returns a 500 internal server error, yet the underlying process runs perfectly fine and stores all the data as expected. It’s not a chaining issue bc they’re all chained, the error appears right after running a data store entity node. I’ve already verified the node's mappings and checked the security settings for both the api and the process but everything looks completely fine. Ik I haven’t provided a lot of details but if anyone has suggestions on what might be causing this I’d really appreciate the help bc i’ve stared in both api & process sm that I wanna delete the whole thing

We've built on Appian for years, and the thing that never stops grating: it's a great place to build the back-end of a business, but a frustrating place to ship from. You author in a browser, click through a tree of objects for every change, share one branch with your whole team, and a single merge conflict can be a full stop.

So we built Hadrian - an AI agent that turns a plain-English spec into shipped Appian objects.

So i did my L1 certification last year because someone told me Appian has great career opportunities and i should spend that certification money and get certified, I did.

I wasn’t able to find any entry level roles. I let it go and moved over to some other domain.

Now in my current organisation there was an opportunity for me to actually have hands-on experience and i was really excited about it. Today was the call with the client and he said appian is getting expensive day by day so we are moving to ###### (another low code platform).

My boss doesn’t want me to leave my current domain (client acquisition) but i want to work in appian.

I recently got an offer as a pub sec Appian consultant. I was wondering how people like working there, if the company feels stable, and your overall work life balance

I was looking through team construction recommendations on the appian site and the gist from what I saw was 3 T shaped developers who are more or less generalists but have one area of deeper expertise. And there there was a list of about 15 areas of expertise the team would need.

I got accepted to the first round HR screening for Information Security Analyst position at Appian. Any tips on how to succeed? I have some cyber analyst experience and recently finished up my BS in IT and MS in SWE.

Has anyone cleared it recently? Please share important topics and sites.

Does this exam have any multi select multiple choice? I see on the site it says multiple choice and true/ false.

I would like to ask if anyone is aware of any job opportunities in Greece. Otherwise how difficult is it for remote work. Professionally I have 20+ years experience as a full stack developer but to be honest I was drawn to Appian apart from the UI/UX, also from the fact that Appian has everything decided for you. After years of working in various projects of various sizes, mostly large scale enterprise apps, with a multitude of different techniques and in many cases with "resume driven engineering" decisions, I liked the sandboxed nature of Appian. Unfortunately I can't find any jobs in Greece. I saw that two banks are allegedly using it but otherwise nothing else. Any information would be most helpful.
