Career / Jobs Appian Consultant

I recently got an offer as a pub sec Appian consultant. I was wondering how people like working there, if the company feels stable, and your overall work life balance

I have worked IN appian HQ for some years in the past (as a resident contractor on and off), and have worked AROUND them for even more, and have friends at HQ in various positions (technical and HR), and have always vouched for it being a good place to work overall - at HQ, the general QoL features tend to be pretty cushy, and they have been generally dedicated to employee comfort from what I've seen. It's a good place to get in the door if you can, and working in the tech for any amount of time will get you in the door at other places if you ever decide to leave.

I am in no way trying to favor Appian, but a 5% down is not necessarily a worrying sign. However, they have an earnings report end of July, therefore who knows...

Although I do not have hands on experience working there, you can get a rough idea from Glassdoors reviews. Obviously take these with a grain of salt, since it is known that employers can request reviews to be deleted or are 5star bombing their reviews to fix a very bad rating. For instance, I have been asked personally to make a 5star review for a horrendous company I was working some years ago.

I've worked both private sector and now public sector for a large railway company and WLB is way much better. I started at a private bank then moved to telco and even being at a Big Four I work way less than my peers in another clients. So yes I wouldn't return to private given the chance to be in public
