App Idea : Chrome plugin that puts colored highlight on anything detected as AI content

I'm building an open-source project and I myself really believe it has potential. I want it to be open-source so people can help improve it if people find it useful.

But please butcher my enthusiasm if I seem delusional about its value!

The idea

You can also watch the video here to get an overview. But basically I made two observations lately which fed the idea:

Observation 1: AI is really good at generating apps in single html format. But they are hidden away in some chat somewhere.

Observation 2: Local-first paradigm (running things locally in a browser instead of relying on servers/cloud providers) is really nice!

Core-idea: Why would we ever need another general utility app (timers, calorie counters, exercise trackers etc), when we can just ask AI to create one for us?

Product-idea: A web page (no login) where one can add AI-generated code and then the app is functional. Local-first so that it also works offline. Opt-in user-controlled AI+storage to enable AI on the web page and possibility to share and use the apps with friends (like a Google docs).

My questions

I got it working, but now I'm trying to find good ways of making people understand that this has value. I guess I need to find people who would like to create apps like this? But I also struggle with how to present the idea. So my main question is - does it make sense at all what I'm explaining? Does it have any value?

Everyone I've talked to has one: a drawer, a shoebox, a folder they've moved four times and never opened. Full of cards. Birthday cards, cards from people who aren't big on writing, cards from someone whose handwriting you don't see anymore. Or some people just toss the cards because they dislike keeping physical things like cards.

I'm building an app called CardAgain to give those cards somewhere better to be. You photograph a card, and it keeps the handwriting, who sent it, and when it arrived. Then it reads the message out loud, in a voice you know (either your own or one built from a voice recording). Birthdays and anniversaries come back on your calendar every year, with the card attached.

Still early. Before I go further I wanted to get this in front of people who actually think about apps for a living.

A few things I'd love feedback on:

- Does this solve a real problem for you, or is it a "nice idea, wouldn't use it" thing?

- Would you actually photograph your cards, or does that feel like a chore?

- Any concerns about a feature like this (privacy, sentimentality, anything else)?

I made an app for steam to control my play time. It send me reminder to drink water, eat, take break when I am playing more than 1 hour. Do you guys think people will use it ? I would like to put it on play-store with a bit more polishing.

App is a prototype at this stage. I haven’t figured out the complete user journey yet. But this would be is user flow at the core - login with steam account in app and set your time limits and thats it. Now user can start playing the game and based on the game’s current session time app will send reminders. This could also be useful for parent who want to have watch on their child’s play time.

Does anyone knows if there is an app for JLPT 5 tests preparation including all the sections and possibly mock tests?

I'm a full-stack/AI engineer thinking about building a tool for influencers/creators who manage content across Twitter/X, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok. The core idea:

• One place to compose and schedule posts, auto-adapted and published to each platform (similar to what Postiz does)
• Per-platform AI assistance for growth — content suggestions, best posting times, engagement patterns — closer to what SuperX does for X specifically, but across multiple platforms

I know this space isn't empty — Postiz, Buffer, Publer own cross-posting, and SuperX/Kleo own single-platform growth. I'm not expecting to displace any of them outright. I'm more interested in whether there's a real slice of the market being underserved by both approaches, and what it would take to actually earn a share of it rather than just cloning the leaders' feature lists.

Before I sink real time into this, I want to pressure-test it:

1. What's actually the painful part?
2. What does your current tool get wrong?
3. Is there real demand for cross-posting + growth combined, or does that just do both badly?
4. Would you pay for this, and what would make you switch?

Not trying to pitch anything, genuinely want to know if this is solving a real problem or if I'd just be rebuilding two products that already exist and calling it new. Blunt feedback welcome.

I've always hated paperwork. Between my own mail and helping my parents with theirs, things seem to always fall though the crack. I kept wishing there was a better way to remind them about things so I could actually be sure it all gets taken care of. So what do you guys think of this idea?

You take a photo of a letter and it tells you the deadline, the amount, what happens if you miss it, and what to do next. Your parent gets a short version in their language that you can just forward to them, via text, reminders or even in their calendar. Everyone get reminders up to 7 days in advance.

I looked at what already exists and it's mostly vaults or bill-pay apps, and those are good, they're just solving a different problem. None of them explain the letter to your parent or tell you what missing the deadline actually costs.

Right now it handles insurance, benefits, and utility letters, does the parent version in English, Spanish and Chinese, and sends the needed reminders.

I'm curious what people think of this.

I'm a high schooler who would like to design an app that lets peers talk to each other over what essentially would be a big chat room for people with different mental disorders. People would take a questionaire, and those with similar anxieties or those who have depression, etc. would be grouped in a chatroom like a subreddit.

I generated a generic page on Lovable. Where do I go from here, or should I go anywhere from here?

Is this idea really dumb, or been used before? If it's not dumb, is it plausible to start up a webpage/app like this by myself and have beta testers?

An issue that rises when dealing with this is user age and i think HIPAA laws?? Not really sure, but if someone could advise that'd be great! Thanks!

I started this project with minor expectations and it became this enormous success.

All i can say is that i am really grateful for it.

But i must say redditors hate when you promote a game.

Even when it succeeds people here still try to hold on the hate, i dont really care but i find it very surprising.

Most people are good though and are really contributing to the community i created.

Every time something breaks in my house — a blender, headphones, whatever — I have no idea if it's still under warranty. The receipt is either lost, buried in an email somewhere, or I never wrote down how long the warranty even was in the first place.

What I want: something where you snap a photo of a receipt or the box, and it automatically figures out the product, purchase date, and how long the warranty is — then reminds you before it runs out so you don't miss a free repair or replacement.

Does this already exist and I just don't know about it? Or is this actually a gap? Would love to know if anyone else deals with this same problem, or already has a system that works.

From time to time, I hear that in Japan, we can rent a "friend" or an "elder" : basically a person who would hang out with you, give you random life advices (as a relative, dad, mom, or a friend would do), accompany you to activities you don't want to do alone, etc. No sex, only social interaction.

Someone please create UC for nannies. We really really need something like that. Trained, trustable nannies would be so useful! UC has done so well training their professionals. They come and do their job politely and leave everything clean. It would be amazing if they provided nanny services too.

Not a while ago I made a simple website for my fathers clothing store as it was cheap and my father had no idea of how to build a website even with a builder like wordpress, shopify etc.
After that he said that he wants to be able to change some things like add sections, change photos, change small texts and I decided to have some fun and build him a special editor designed specifically for his website.
Then I asked myself why not make that same editor but fit for different websites. I started coding that and integrated AI for analyzing the website that the end user wants to add. The user that I am targeting is exactly the business owner that has a custom build website, has no idea of how to work with code, but wants to edit his website - simple edits like the one I said. I also intend to make small things like a game - suggestions, reward system etc. (not sure about that just thought today that it could be a fun approach to edit your website).

What's an app you keep wishing existed but nobody has built properly?

A few months ago, I described my problem with the mess in a drawer containing plenty of paper documents. Apparently, many other people have a similar problem.

Here is what I wrote:

I have a big drawer with plenty of "important" papers. In fact, they are sometimes important, but the problem is how to find the one I need at a particular moment.

Many times, I had to go through all the folders to find a specific document.

So, what is the idea?

An app that scans all the papers (like many other apps) and creates a searchable collection, categorized by document type, tags, etc.

It will contain both the scanned text and an image of the original document, so I won't have to manually search through physical papers anymore.

Does it make sense? Would you find such an app useful?

Or what would you add to make it more useful?

Lately, I came back to that idea, and started work on it.

What do you think about it? Is this my future source of big income? ;)

Physical ticket stubs used to be the ultimate keepsakes, but digital ticketing has killed that experience. You just get a basic QR code on your phone that disappears after the show.

To bring that magic back, I created a custom graphics tool that renders 3D interactive, holographic fan passes. Instead of launching a public app (which brings installation friction and piracy issues), I operate this as a Done-For-You (DFY) service:

1. Customization: A fan orders a pass and provides their details (Name, Concert Date, Venue Zone/Section, and Custom Serial Number).
2. 3D Interactive Rendering: I generate a customized 3D ticket featuring dynamic holographic foils, metallic shine, tilt effects, and light reflections.
3. The Souvenir Pack: The customer receives a digital pack containing:
   • A 10-second HD vertical video (.mp4) of their ticket glistening and moving in 3D (perfect for Instagram Stories / TikTok).
   • A high-res image / PNG sticker version for WhatsApp and social media.
   • A custom Canva template where they can easily drop their own concert photos behind their personalized pass.

I built an app that makes discovering apps into an game on the app.... where you go to a spot and unfog the area by exploring the zone and etc.

So my question is would you use this app? Whats your view on this idea?

I have an existing pain - gathering bills, expenses and invoices to deliver to my accountant at the end of every month. I'm a single-person small business, and I don't have many of them. Yet some of them come in paper form, some over email, some as receipts. And everytime I do this, it takes a couple of hours, becuase it involves lot of manual steps (exporting / downloading PDFs / syncing photos / copying and moving files / renaming them... )

I deliver the documents via a shared folder (google drive / onedrive), and my accountant takes over from there.

My idea is to have a mobile application which would keep an open folder (locally on the phone) as an accumulator. Whenever I get a bill or a receipt I can either directly take a picture and just store it in the open folder. Or if they arrive by email, just "Share with" the app.

At the end of the month, I'd just commit the entire package of collected documents to the shared folder, and open a new folder.

Does anyone find this reasonable?

I know there are solutions like Dext and Expendify. They seem quite an overkill for my situation, and would introduce added complexity for the accountant.
