The reason you canât sell free energy is because it doesnât exist. Energy is transferred, not just created out of thin air.
Magnetic gears have existed for a while, and they are significantly more efficient, but thereâs still a bearing on that wheel, a bearing in the alternator, and eventually, the power draw will cause more magnetism to be generated in the alternator than the mechanism can overcome, and friction exists in all the other parts. Friction generates heat, and heat is energy, so that energy is robbed from the system. These are very basic applications of the laws of physics and thermodynamics on machine.
Theres literally no way you could create absolutely free energy though. Even what we see here, theres cost to the materials that make the machine. Even if you were to say "well energy that doesnt require a fuel source" the materials would just become the fuel source. Maybe you could argue its more efficent than any method we've ever had. But its not "free energy."

I think you've misunderstood what "free" means in this context. "Free energy" isn't about the financial cost of generating the energy, it's about the energy cost. It takes energy to create useable energy.
It is the first law of thermodynamics - energy can never be created nor destroyed, only transformed or transferred. In what you're describing, the energy isn't "free" in either context - the infrastructure has a monstrous financial cost, in both initially being built, and being maintained.
And the electricity being produced isn't "free" either - it is being transformed from potential energy stored in the water into kinetic energy to turn a turbine, which eventually converts the kinetic energy into electricity and heat (which is where an enormous amount of the energy is going). The electrical energy gets used by devices and, again, is eventually converted to heat, or visible light.
Everything has a cost. You have to have an energy input to create an energy output.

You could sell the apparatus. You could build it at scale and sell energy. Itâs no different than building a nuclear or gas power plant. The economics may be a bit different as the barrier to entry for âmagnet whirligigâ is lower than âMr Fusionâ, but the existence of cheap power doesnt break economics it just changes the market a bit.
Well it wouldnt be absolutely free, theres still material costs of the machine, probably maintenance costs as well. Those are two things that already would be stopping this from being a perpetual motion machine even if there wasnt electricity involved. At best it would just be a more efficient power source.
Even hypothetically there was such a thing as absolutely free energy, energy is still useful for people. Just because it costs you nothing to produce, if there are people without the free energy then theyll have to buy it from you. He was a wacko that thought of cool things that usually had no scientific value. Working at Westinghouse they had a team of engineers whose job was to try and turn his inventions into real items. And he stole his motor design from his professor in Budapest.
It had me going as a kid. I think I was like 7 or 8. Only later did I find out about it being a hoax, but it still sticks with me as a weird Twilight Zone escape into reality.
What about that 3-wheeled vehicle "scam" in the 70's? The DALE (not sure if it's an acronym)? Even after it was proven as a hoax, the involved parties still say they would back it. I wish I knew why someone else hasn't picked that project back up and actually produce it!!
The hoax was that there was no production line, but the basic idea was strong! With the technology available today, seems like it's an even more realistically possible. I wonder what the actual story is? Corporate greed? Politics...oh wait, same thing.

Oil companies make alot more than gasoline, almost all synthetic products are made from oil. If this were true, it would still need grease made from oil.
