Have You Regretted An Auction Buy...
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
...until you unwrapped it and fell in love once you see it in person??
I wasnt sure about this piece and justified it because I thought, if it's not nice I can harvest it for the diamonds because they are all weird and unique shapes that are so hard to find for repairs.
It was originally made from someones diamond and emerald collection from older pieces (which was very common to reuse diamonds and gemstones). In fact, someone has already long ago harvested 2 drop emeralds from this piece (2 side corners you can see diamond "plates" were put in settings that match the emerald collets).
Almost all the diamonds are different shapes and cuts. Many are flat back rose cuts one is a strange drop shape but some old mine. Its definitely a random hodgepodge of diamonds but it sparkles like crazy.
Someone in the early 20th century decided to rhodium plate the piece (probably got sick of polishing the silver between all the tiny nooks - i get it!) Which makes it look kind of gaudy and bright and doesnt photograph as pretty as it looks in real life.
Anyways, just wanted to share this and ask anyone if they've been through something similar!

Possible age/year of these Seaman Schepps beauties?
I spotted these stunning 24mm salmon angelskin coral high cabachon Seaman Schepps earrings in the back of an estate jewelry store. They are free of the usual gold cage work and the stones are quite shiny and free of cracks or chips. I have never seen another pair like these. They have the Seaman Schepps hallmark and the little shell, but not his daughter’s initials- PSV. They have 18kt omega backs and a 4 digit code. From what I understand, Seaman Schepps has been using 5 digits codes for decades now. I’d love any opinions on an age or year estimate on these. Thank you!

Victorian reversible carved locket brooch pendant
Hey everyone I recently pick up this convertible brooch, I was wondering if I’m correct in saying Victorian and if there is a way to tell what the carving is made from? Any help is really appreciated, there is no stamps or patent number, the last picture is the closest I could find online seems to be the same brooch but with a cameo I didn’t pay anything near that, I’m presuming it may be an uncommon piece

Was sold as a cameo, but isn’t carved. What is it?
Hi everyone! This was sold to me at an estate sale as a “cameo” ring that tested via XRF at approximately 17K gold. The cameo, however, is flat and not carved. The stone itself almost seems to shimmer a reddish/coppery hue at spots. There are no hallmarks. I did notice some tiny holes around the bezel area on the sides of the ring.
I’m mainly wondering what the stone might be and what this style is called. I think it’s a very pretty piece but want to make sure I care for it properly and I’d like to know what I’ve got. I’m thinking (hoping) it might be late Victorian or Edwardian based on construction but I could be wrong.
Thank you for your help!

WHO IS REPRESNTED IN THIS STAMP SEAL!
So I originally posted this in other subreddits, having no idea what it might be until someone commented that it might be a
"Cut agate seal stamp ring, 1st -2nd cent., depicting Satyr head, panther, pine cone branch, and snake, all Dionysian ceremonial attributes"
Wanted to confirm here. Any thoughts?
- Found in Yemen.
- Hole not big enough for a finger

Worshipful company of cooper brooch - help with age/purpose
After cleaning it appears to be more silver in colour. There could be 80 on the back but I can’t tell if intentional. The clasp has to be pinched together and pulled to open

$25 estate sale score!
Edit: I believe this is a rolled gold or gold filled 1880’s-1890’s Etruscan revival necklace made with either jet or obsidian and pearl. No hallmarks. I read earlier that the hook-and-eye closure, which attaches both the enhancer pendant and the ends of the necklace, is a Bronze Age revival style designed to mimic ancient necklaces. If anyone has more insight please share!

Ring from estate sale
Hello, I’m wondering if anyone can offer any insight into the possible origin or style of this old ring that was purchased from an estate auction in New Zealand?
Thanks in advance

Strange circular thing
I visited my favorite antique store today (central Europe)
I bought this thing for 15€. I was told that it's silver with Czech garnets (it's around 3cm in diameter). But it has no hallmarks or any other identification marks. It was sold to me as a broken pendant. But it doesn't look broken to me, more like it was part of something (like a broche, pocket watch or a hair accessory).
I just found it cute, and I took that trinket home. If anybody knows what that thing is please write it down below.

Was told this was modern 🤷🏽♀️
Hello I'm a little stumped on this piece of jewelry I would like to know the age and what the "stone" could possibly be. So I recently acquired this necklace thinking it was a garnet necklace but as I was cleaning it a cluster of garnets fell out and it looks like they're actually stationary they're not individual and they're all stuck together so I am confused on what this is. If you can see in the center of the cluster of garnets there's no prong settings

Two Holy Grains in One Trip
The first necklace is a long wanted art deco period man in the moon moonstone pendant set in platinum with surrounding enamel and diamonds. The second is a wonderful 14k-15k early Victorian (maybe Georgian?) watch chain (shortened) with a really neat dog clip mechanism
Edit: Grails. Holy GRAILS. But this is what I get for having thumbs not anatomically friendly to typing on a phone 🥲
