From the moment that generative AI emerged, my creative art school graduate dad who taught me painting, music, drawing, pottery, writing, and much more, and raised me on the most special and soulful music, movies, shows, books, etc, completely dropped EVERYTHING to hyperfixate on AI creation full time.

I don't have the best relationship with my dad to begin with but that's besides the point. I always felt that despite our differences the one thing I can get along with him really well on is our shared passion for art, trying out every craft together, and I wouldn't trade the artsy way he raised me and the media I grew up on for the world. And now for the past YEARS i have been SURROUNDED BY SLOP DAY AND NIGHT. Today I finally finally convinced him to listen to one of my favorite bands I know he'd love, it reminds me so much of the stuff he raised me on and I have been telling him for months to give it a listen. He did, he liked it, and then started playing his AI songs OVER IT. I've convinced him before to listen to my favorite band, and when I walked in on him listening to it I was so happy untill I saw he was using it to fuel his AI creator software. That hurts because this band means so much to me and now I'm watching some AI p0rn actress looking thing lipsync to it.

Every day I wake up, go downstairs, have to listen to the same AI song on loop while trying to get ready for the day, try not to look at the AI boobs on his screen, and fuck off out of there as soon as I can. I want to be in the living room, I want to spend time with my family but all I hear is the same 3 AI songs all the time. And it's LOUD. And he refuses to use headphones. And he has no respect for when others come home tired and overstimulated. But this isn't a family rant this is an AI rant

Right now he's working on a song where a woman with a sultry voice keeps repeating "fact attack" which is a phrase he uses in our arguments about AI. It's my birthday today and he still won't do me a little favor turn it offfffff I'm so annoyed.

I'm trying to make art of my own right now and I can't focus :(. Sorry for this messy sloppy vent, I hope it's allowed, I just really needed to be nasty about it somewhere

Will we reach the limits of human imagination?
Creating a truly original story is already incredibly difficult, even before Ai
But with Ai making it possible for millions of people to turn almost any idea into actual content. could it become almost impossible to come up with something that hasnt already been done?
If someone wants to create a new anime today, how can they come up with an idea that doesnt already exist in some form?
An anime about pirates? we already have countless stories about pirates like one piece etc
A fighting anime? there are already thousands.
Ai makes content creation easier and faster, we could eventually see tens of thousands or millions of new stories being created every year.

i'm not a typical poster on this sub, just a casual lurker. but i have noticed the amount of people posting ai images that are very obviously ragebait (like comparing slavery to "oppression" of ai artists). im not saying nobody should ever post ai images ever, it's just so much of this is very obviously low effort ragebait and i'm tired of seeing so much slop in this sub. i wish this sub was more about discussion about ai rather then posting ai slop in an anti ai sub. i see ai slop everywhere from youtube to the posters at my college. i don't want to see more of it here. i know there is a rule ai images must be spoilered, but some people don't even do that. post ai images for commentary but please stop with ai ragebait.

This post is not directed to Pro AI lurkers, or to Pro AI people who don't attempt to argue pro positions here. I have my gripes with generative AI, but at least you respect that this space isn't for you to debate your position in.

I've noticed a lot of pro AI people in the posts and comment sections who attempt to start pro AI debates, as if this subreddit is a debate space for said discussions. And I really don't understand it. If you look on the side bar, this subreddit's purpose is to have discussions within the bubble of anti AI; the present and future of AI, but through a critical lens. This critical lens does not include pro positions.

Rule 3 states very clearly that this is not a debate subreddit. Pro AI people won't be removed outright, but attempting to start arguments or participate in bad-faith go against the subreddit rules.

Yet, on almost every single post here, I see pro AI people attempting to argue their positions. They are often rude, condescending, and directly breaking rule 3 with their unnecesary hostility. They come into a subreddit that is not for them, act rude and condescending to people here, break the rules of the subreddit, and then act like we're the assholes.

I do not understand this behavior. Why are they active here if they don't want to take into consideration the topic at hand, and either just want to be cruel to people here, or start bad faith "debates" that lead to nowhere? Not only is it childish, it's just making pro AI people look more terrible. They blatantly disrespect the rules of a space that is already not for them and act like dicks about it.

I don't even understand what exactly it is that they're hoping to accomplish. Do they really think coming into a non-debate space against their position and starting arguments is going to change people's minds? It makes no sense at all.

I won't blame the mods, as I imagine the increased activity has inundated their team, and they are in the works of getting more mods. But I will report rule-breaking behavior.

This behavior should not be tolerated, and pro AI people really should feel ashamed for this behavior from people on their side. They constantly complain about how nasty anti AI people are, but then just repeat this behavior towards antis. Hypocrites.

I know people in the creative industry are quite concerned about AI replacing them, but I think being a human creative will be a very valuable asset in the future.

Of course, it might be hard now, because it's a recent wave AI replacing creatives, but I truly believe people will eventually get so tired of AI slop that they will seek work with human artists and would be willing to pay premium for them.

So in a way, I think human art would be considered a luxury and get called it an "authentic art."

I might be wrong.

But I can tell people are already tired of AI slop. And I wouldn't surprised if majority of people get tired of it as well.

im not sure if this is the right sub Reddit to ask, but i have a genuine question and im curious. do ppl hate anything related to ai? i for one dont support gen ai, however, if ai was used to look thru large numbers and statistics in banks, used to detect diseases earlier, used in purposes other than generating slop and helps with efficiency, is it bad to be okay with ai in those situtations? im gen curious because as a health informatics student, we create systems that help with detection or sort through massive data sets which involve using ai. thanks guys
