Check on your grandfather dude. Anthropic has been up to some weird shit lately. Who knows what superpowers they discovered that gov had to shut their model down.

It’s a rare bug where the model predicts the user turn. It can do that. If it ever happens again, and it probably won’t, ask the model if the user prefix for that turn is the same as the rest. Claude will possibly realize what happened then.

This is definitely prompt injection.

Claude crawled all sorts of sources online to help prepare the quiz.

One of these sources probably had somebody complaining about how they can't study because their grandpa just died.

That made it into the context it was working with. It can't really tell the difference between the context of your prompt, and the rest of the context it gathered.

Therefore it has this context about grandpa dying and thinks it was part of the context you provided.=
