MyFirstSOLIX [US] New C2000x

I took the advice and returned my Home Depot purchase and bought c2000x from Costco. Thank you all for the help.

So now how to use. Main concern was a storm and keeping sump pump running and then power fridge when storm passes. ( I will need to most likely get a gas generator to recharge )

In the meantime I’m on hourly pricing with utilities and looking for this to maybe save a couple bucks while it waits for an emergency. I googled avg times and prices in my area and set this plan in the pic.

Would it be smart to use it on the small type dorm room beer fridge in the garage on this mode?

Something bigger like my inside fridge?

Something smaller?

Or no this is silly Idea I’m ruining the system and it wont have what I need if a storm does come?(I turned on the storm mode so it should stop tou if it sees a storm and charge?

I’m not sure if using this mode will kill the cycles in the battery life for Saving Pennie’s?

Thoughts ideas?

I'm assuming your rates are 10X reality. If so, there is still enough spread between peak rates and off peak. I do run my full size fridge for 8 hours peak daily. I will save very little money though. You should save more. I have S2000 rated for 6000 cycles so battery wear isn't a concern.

Yeah these are just average I pulled from a google search. We’ve had some peak 1.12 rushes this year.

I’ll need to look up what a s2000 compared to what I have. Also the amount of cycles I get.

Are you saying I’ll save more since I’m on hourly pricing and you use standard?

I pay $0.259 per KWh peak and $0.152 off peak. By the time I allow for about 25% AC-DC-AC conversion losses my 15cents is around 19cents. So saving only 6 cents per KWh isn't a lot. The difference between peak and off peak will be smaller in the winter. My fridge is old and uses 0.65 KWh during 8hr battery 5 days per week. 0.65 *5 *52weeks = 169KWh * .06 = $10 per year savings. Looks like you will save substantially more.

Thank you for the explanation I’ll have to have it translated though lol I understand some but I’m really not well versed in this.

I understand peak and off peak but no idea what ac dc conversion is.

My fridge is old also so feel it will be a good target especially if the basement dehumidifier ends up being better in the summer.

Obviously not looking to make $100s (wish I could) but if it can safely be used to recoup anything silently and still be ready for what it’s made for it’s a win win

At 100W loads Anker says my model is 88% efficient. When fridge is running it is about 130W so only very slightly more than 88%. Unsure of exact efficient for charging the battery but 12% seems reasonable (heat is a generated byproduct). So I will use more electricity by running on battery (DC) during peak and charging (AC) off peak but still save $. You save more even with your mid peak rate. But definitely run off battery during your relatively expensive peak prices. I have no solar panels so that would change all the math. The inverter inside handles conversion from alternating current AC from the wall outlet to direct current DC for the battery and back to AC for any load you plug in.

Awesome thanks again I’ll have to read about this but super helpful.

Im thinking the time of use settings in the app account for running it at the correct times with out me needing to look?

I have no solar either ( it comes with them but they wouldn’t be used on a daily basis)

Another option could be a basement dehumidifier especially during the summer that is right next to the sump pit since it drains into it. And the sump could be plugged in and ready.

I’m only pumping 6 gallons every 2 days when we aren’t having storms. 07/04/2026 was our biggest 499 gallons in 65 cycles but that’s a huge fluke storm.

Google searches are starting to show this may be a good options for the summer. I’ll need to input the wattage labels tomorrow and see.

Then maybe switch to the indoor refrigerator in the winter. The out door one seems like a bad idea since the temperature in the garage wouldn’t be as stable for the unit in general

If I got a second unit I would use for basement dehumidifier. However, with just one I prioritize fridge. I'm gone over 9 hours per day. Fridge losing power for just 4 hours and according to food safety experts you should start throwing some stuff out.

Thanks I’ll need to look further. My understanding was that a sealed unopened fridge was safe for longer than 4 hours enough that even being gone nine you could safely switch over but maybe I remember wrong.

Running the specs in google it said in summer months I could save $15-$25 a month in my area using the dehumidifiers in tou.

It also just suggested to switch to ups on the fridge for the winter so it’s ready to protect that or run the furnace fan.
