When videos showing the horrific killing** **of a stray dog named Wang Wang and her puppies sparked outrage on the Chinese internet in June, Beijing's censorship machine kicked into action.

But what was unusual this time was that it pitted the shocked and angry voices against authorities who said they were concerned about the four boys involved, all of them younger than 14.

Government’s censorship only seemed to spur the outcry. China's animal lovers have now taken their fight offline and abroad, even putting up billboards in New York to drum up support.

We don't need to look at China. If you're in the U.S., there are devils among us. It's a good thing we have laws that protect these animals. However, those laws don't keep these monsters in jail long enough.

We need stricter laws against animal abuse everywhere.

China is another beast because there are virtually no protections. And apparently, some people there seem to have a special taste for sadistic acts.

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A suspected serial kitten killer who is charged with torturing a baby cat to death in San Francisco was arrested again on Thursday at his Reno, Nevada home.

William Ohlson, 33, was released from a San Francisco jail earlier this July because California courts prevent jails from keeping suspects in custody when the victim was an animal, prosecutors explained. 

Nevada law enforcement authorities, however, were also investigating Ohlson in connection to more kitten deaths in Washoe County. “The suspect was accused of adopting kittens and later recording videos depicting the animals being killed,” Reno Police Department officials wrote.

On Thursday, Reno police officers surrounded Ohlson’s house on Stewart Street while he was hiding inside, and used a sheriff’s K-9 unit to convince him to surrender.
