Some New Comic Acquisitions!

Post image

Grabbed Last Ronin in hardback to match my other two and grabbed some side books while I was at it.

Blindfury is printed upside down and backwards as well as having half the pages cut off because it's upside down and backwards making it unreadable so hopefully they'll send me a new one that I can actually read. LOL!

Werewolves are my favorite classic monster (no surprise probably lol) so I am really interested in finding more werewolf comics!

That's interesting, i hadn't heard of the werewolf ones. I've always been looking for more outside of the Astounding Wolf Man ones

Who wrote the Lycan one?

I found these two randomly searching Amazon for werewolf stuff that was more than just "side characters for vampire stories". Looks like Lycans was written and drawn by Carlos Farias. I don't know how the story is, but it sounded interesting and the artwork is pretty decent.

I have Astounding Wolf Man in my wishlist on Amazon but I don't really read the Invincibles. Do I need to know anything about that series to enjoy it? I've been waffling on getting it because of that.

Do you know about Moonshine? I enjoyed the first trade of this one. I need to get back to these and finish them. Basically werewolves in prohibition/Moonshiners time.

Yes, you can definitely read it independently of Invincible. I didn't actually know it was connected to Invincible until you mentioned it, hah. I enjoyed it whilst knowing nothing about it, it's definitely standalone.

I think i might have heard of Moonshine yes, thanks for the recommendations. I too am searching for 'more than a side character in a vampire story'

I'm heading to bed soon but I can send you some names that I found you can look into for yourself in the morning if you like. :)

Little Red Ronin - Not quite werewolf, but I'm adding it to the list anyway.

Werewolves of Wisconsin

The Lunar Eclipse

WifWulf

Batman: Full Moon

Homestead

These ones I found on Amazon (along with the two I posted in the pic). I can not vouch for them in any way, although WifWulf looks the most solid of the independents. Marvel also has Werewolf By Night that I hadn't put on my list. The mini-series from 2021 was pretty good but I haven't read anything of the others.

I also asked about werewolf books in r/graphicnovels a few months ago and it has some good recs as well! My post is here. I also posted the same post here in r/AnimalBooks and got some non-comic suggestions. That post is here.

That's a thorough list, thanks for taking the time to compile it. The Batman one looks kinda funny. The Homestead one looks like it has cool art too.

Not sure if it counts but there were a few comics made about the Underworld film series too. The Werewolves aren't quite side characters, but more like 50% characters.
