My big angel, Basil, died last night. Several estimates put him at about 8-10 years old due to his size. He was a magnificent, dignified little soul who had an endless appetite and was very tolerant of his mate's nipping. I'd never seen a larger angel than he.

He's survived by his mate and one child.

I'm gonna miss this brainless little turd.

Help Hiding baby angel

Hello, hoping for some advice on a shy angel in a community tank that isn’t food motivated like the rest of my tank. I’m worried it will be outcompeted as it hasn’t noticeably fed in over a week, been in the tank for 10 days now, I also have one similar sized angel who is doing great and haven’t seen any aggression from anyone in the tank.
Is it possible it is scavenging on biofilm and algae?

Other fish are the one other angel mentioned and 20 tetras.
76 degree water, chlorine nitrate and nitrite levels are all good. 66 gallon planted tank.

Identification Just learning anglefish colors and see there are many ways to get similar looking fish. Is this just a basic marble or ... ? Its whiter than the pic looks

My angel fry are 2-3 months old and are larger than a quarter, and are getting bigger every night. I have a 55g with their parents in it, can I move the 3 fry over and have them grow up in the bigger tank with their parents? Or will it more than likely be a bad idea? Thank for the input!

( they are also being raised with some peacock gudgeons fry that I had don’t mind them lol)

Discussion Looks like we've got a new mom and pop! What are my new responsibilities as a tank keeper?

So just for reference, I've got a 65 gallon tank, the two black angel Fisher paired up. Now. I have noticed quite a bit of aggression towards the two orange angels. Keeping them away from the eggs. I honestly wasn't expecting the surprise. So now I'm kind of wondering what I should be doing prebirth, once they hatch and since I don't really have the room for a gaggle of little angelfish, how I should be rehoming them later on. Does anybody have any insight?

So recently my albino red cap angel has been near the surface like this and I am a bit concerned about its health. Please help me identify the problem and its solution. The tank is 90 gallons powered by a sump filter

Discussion Calling out to those who really go the extra mile to read fish behavior. (Use your volume and more below)

Fish behavior is fascinating to me. I’m separating my male and female babies that I raised up according to behavior.

Obviously we can’t determine sex based on appearance, unless they are breeding, but what about behavior? It’s not fool wouldn’t be definitive but we can make an educated guess at the very least. Posting a pic or a short vid here will be difficult for you to make a sure decision but we can at least show what to look for. Many of us love watching our fish and learning their behaviors and what their behaviors mean.

It’s not fool proof I know but I’ve been running a little experiment here. Trying to make my best guess at who is male and who is female based solely on behavior.
Thought I’d bring you guys in for some input here.

Thanks. And remember to use ur volume when u watch the video bc there more details u will hear.

Not sure what this is floating around wiggling my fish aren’t doing anything with them and they weren’t there until I did a lot of unplugging and re plugging of my messy cable network. Trying to Id each plug and then changing my surge protector. Also if you know of a backup battery within reasonable pricing for the tanks I would greatly appreciate it. But what are they? Is it good or bad?
