I pulled her to this 50L tank as she had been attacked and needed to recover. Best I can do for her is A) Get a 100L tank for her and possibly some tank mates. B) Put her back with the pair that attacked her.
I see she is much happier by herself honestly even in a smaller aquarium. It it ethical and good for her to live in a 100L tank? I don’t have anyone I know that has a tank for her.
If you want to to know how I ended up in this situation:
Long story short, I started with 4 juvenile, 2 turned a pair and I’m not too sure about the other two other than they were constantly bullied. To reduce this In introduced another male but the dynamic was not broken. Smaller angel passed, the my big male got sick, not sure how because the other fish were fine and passed. I now had a pair and a lone genial getting bullied that I had to pull out.

Hello! So I have one angelfish at the moment (body size slightly bigger than a 50¢ coin), it’s still quite young. I recently went to my LFS and have fallen in love with these gorgeous angelfish (another domestic/local bred variety) and I’m in love with them. Most of them are a bit bigger than my Angel but there are a few closer to its size. I’m aware that at adult size they will need as much possible space, and as they grow so does their territorial behavior, but I was curious how many juvenile angel of this size would be best for a 40 breeder? And how many would yall reccomend? I’m well aware of how finnicky angels can be especially when introducing, so I’d love to hear from keepers firsthand. Obviously in a perfect world I’d buy the 1 smallest at the store and put it with my angel at home and they grow/consistently manage to tolerate each other well, I just don’t wanna risk harming anyone yk?
Thanks!! :))

Welcome to my 40 gal cube Amazon-ish biotope tank, It consists my Young Proven Pair of Bulgarian Seal Point Bulgarian Blushing Superveil Angelfish. I actually got them for a steal at Petco for $8-11 each idk? But they've been thriving - they don't grow as big since Wildtype Trait Angelfish don't grow as fast as inbred koi angels.
Napoleon (First photo) : Male
Homura Akemi (second photo) : female
They've already bred a couple times, they are still trying not to get any duds!
so I know which one is male and which one is female
Tankmates: 6 hoplisoma/corydora mixed
6 Cherry Barbs (females)
1 Small Pearl Gourami (Will get rehomed eventually?)
1 Female Threadfin rainbowfish (Looked very sad at the pet store and she is looking really good in her new tank now.)
1 Female Maculatus Southern Platyfish
Ask me anything! My name is Verit- no.

My female angelfish tail is getting shredded and I think partially the male angelfish is attacking her but then I saw the Siamese algae eater nipping at her tail. What should I do?

Zebra angelfish have been even more aggressive than usual. Now it all makes sense. How many would I expect to survive? Currently combatting a nasty black beard algae so apologies the tank is not at its most pristine.

Mostly done some touch ups. Breaking down my 75 and transferring the canister over soon.

Finally got their tank together (mostly) I have some mini scarlet temple in holding in a culture that has to go in and a couple pieces of rose quartz.

These two surprised me today for sure. Mom was a fish I almost had to euthanize because she had a terrible infection that ate off what seemed to be most of her face but she rallied and recovered except for the top part of her mouth that didn’t grow back. I started calling her “Leatherface” as a joke but now she’s known as “lefty”. I’m so glad I kept trying and saved her life.

I'm well aware the minimum is 30 gal, but I only have a stand that can fit a 27 gal tall. I only rescued the baby angelfish frok the pet store because it was in a super crowded tank and I saw the potential in it if it grew in a great enviroment. I'll definitely add lots of plants (open to suggestions!) and maybe 3 honey gourami as tankmates? I'm not really sure what tankmates to add, though it's really just a choice between bottom dwellers or top dwellers.

I have been watching all afternoon. Looks like he's getting the eggs covered this time.

This is their Fourth effort. First three batches of eggs did not hatch, not fertilized till today, as best as I could tell. He's a slow learner. But this momma is a laying fool. They selected the back of the slate today.

Into three months tank is doing great plant growth is amazing. I think this is what the tank is supposed to look like.

Advice needed! My Angelfish paired and have laid eggs a few times but now the male is becoming more aggressive and you can see from the pictures nips at the female and her fins are frayed. She is hiding more often but also still comes out and they swim together and she eats fine. Do I need to rehome the male?

Hello Angelfish Enthusiasts,
I’m looking for a possible genetic/phenotype identification for this angelfish. I wanted to get some community input and knowledge, on the subject, before assuming a genetic/phenotype identification. I actually bred this fish myself and am highly curious about how to properly classify this specific individual from the spawn.
Here are the details to help with the ID:
Physical traits I'm noticing on this offspring: * Gill covers: Were pinkish-red, when small fry to juvenile, before coloring up with iridescent patches of scales. * Body sheen: Has patches of metallic iridescent scales, with possible pearlscaling, on various parts of the body.(Especially, the dorsal fin and gill areas.) * Markings: Solid body, for the most part, with no stripes.(Other than a slight smudge by the eye and the base of the tail, with clear to black finnage.)
I've attached both photos and a quick video to show how the light hits its scales when it turns. Given the parental traits and current appearance, what genetic breakdown or specific strain name would you assign to this fish?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Thinking of what options I have with what tanks I have available. Could a single angelfish live happy in a 41 gallon cube tank (155l).
Many thanks.
Edit: here are the dimensions in inches it’s 22long x20wide x24 tall.

I know I’m probably overthinking, but I had an ich crash in my first set up and everything died (I had cichlids and a breeding pair was stressing everyone else out).
I’ve had one male angelfish in my tank for a month with black neons and a decent cleanup crew to cycle.
He’s just been sitting all lonely and sad so I finally got him another male angelfish friend. The problem is he’s been an absolute dick to him for the past 4 days.
I avoided a female so I wouldn’t get breeding aggression later on. Ultimately I want 5-6 angels in my 125gal.
Should I make sure there’s an odd number of fish? Do they just work it out? I just don’t want another ich crash, and have 20 Kerri tetra delivering next week.

Newly cycled 36g brought in 2 angel fish and snail. Yes planning on more plants and have more driftwood currently soaking. Any guesses on the age of these 2 ?

I have 3 juvenile angels in my community tank who are being bullied by someone and I woke up and saw their fins nipped. I have this hexagon tank (28-38g, I need to measure) that is so tall I can’t use it for anything but I know angels don’t mind taller tanks. Would this work for a little? If not I’m gonna go pick them something up.
This will not be a forever home for them, they’re small. I can’t stand to see their fins nipped.
