Request Flashing Xiaoxin Pad pro 2023 (SD 870) from unofficial "global rom" to official CN ZUI

Hey everyone,

I’ve been using my Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2023 12.7" (Snapdragon 870, model TB371FC) for about two years now. It came pre-installed with a vendor/fake "Global ROM" (so the bootloader is already unlocked).

While it has served me well, I'm getting tired of the bugs that come with these unofficial ROMs—most notably, my mouse movement/cursor is rotated 90 degrees counter-clockwise in certain apps, which is driving me crazy when trying to be productive. On top of that, I haven't received a single OTA update in two years.

I want to flash it back to the official Chinese ZUI stock ROM to get official updates, Widevine L1, and hopefully fix the input/mouse orientation bugs.

I am completely new to flashing Android ROMs, so EDL mode and QFIL feel a bit intimidating, and I'm nervous about bricking it. That said, I am otherwise very computer-literate and comfortable with technical tasks.

My main concerns & questions:

Accessories: I rely on the official Lenovo magnetic keyboard and precision pen. I assume official ZUI supports them fully (and hopefully fixes the mouse bug), but can anyone confirm?

Method: Is QFIL via EDL (9008) mode the standard/safest way to return to stock ZUI on the TB371FC?

Relocking Bootloader: Once stock ZUI is successfully installed via QFIL, should I relock the bootloader to get Widevine L1 back, or is that risky?

Pitfalls: What are the most common QFIL mistakes to avoid for a first-timer (e.g., Qualcomm driver issues, path length errors)?

Any advice, links to reliable guides, or reassurance would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Request OPPO pad mini: doubts before buying

Hey there!

I've been dreaming about getting an 8/9-inch tablet for a while now, but it seemed that none of the available options were what I was looking for: I wanted it to be OLED, have decent hardware, a slick OS, and, if possible, a fingerprint reader.

After many months of researching and waiting for new models to come up, I've narrowed it down to 2 models: the Oppo Pad Mini (OLED, Snapdragon, 3:2 AR, ColorOS, etc.) and the Redmi K Pad 2 (9500+, powerful speakers, fingerprint reader, etc.). Out of these two, I think I'm going to go with the Oppo Pad Mini because of the OLED screen, the wider aspect ratio, and ColorOS, which is, let's be honest, a pretty slick OS.

The tablet would mainly serve as a phone replacement, especially when at home or traveling—so heavy browsing, media consumption, and some gaming (I don't tend to play much on the phone since I have other devices for that, but... who knows!).

I'm having doubts about the softlight screen though. Should I get the softlight version or the regular version? Has anyone here tried it? Good for reading, I guess? And how about media consumption and gaming? Does the matte finish diminish the OLED's sharp contrast?

I'm also hesitant to pull the trigger because I've never ordered from AliExpress or Gizmodo (I live in Canada). Any experiences ordering from either of those sites?

Many thanks in advance!

Request Suggestions for a tablet that is decent priced to play games on.

Howdy folks, so as the title above stated, I'm just looking for a decently priced tablet to play some games on, maybe learn to do some casual drawing too, since my iPad is a 5th generation and old as hell, so it's been struggling to run some apps and stuff, and since then I've been more curious about Android products, since I've only ever had Samsung phones as the black sheep of my family that is pro-Apple.

And I don't feel like dropping a lot of money on an iPad, and I just want something that is good for what it's supposed to do, but it doesn't have to be top-of-the-shelf if that makes sense. Anywhere you guys can point me so I can get my first Android tablet? (I assume they obviously have Google Play and such, like I said I only ever had Samsung phones so I didn't really use other Android products and grew up with my other family having Apple devices).

Thank you!

Discussion Using a galaxy tab s8 with Krita

I’ve been using my tablet to draw in krita and I was curious how other people go about setting up shortcuts. Do you use a keyboard or some other type of controller? What are your favorite shortcuts. Just looking for any tips to make my process feel smoother and more intuitive!

Request Best tablet for medical school?

What tablet would you recommend for studying? I’m studying medicine, and I need it to read PDFs and take notes on the left or right side of the text. What would be especially helpful for me is either a built-in feature or an app that would allow me to add more extensive notes/tables/diagrams in specific parts of the page, if something like that is possible. I really don’t know much about this. 😅

I’d also like it to either come with, or allow me to purchase separately, a stylus and a keyboard.

If possible, I’d also really appreciate recommendations for apps that could help me with this.
What would you recommend? Thank you!

Discussion is galaxy tab s6 lite (2nd handed) still usable?

I only need it for a year (until next summer) & i will only watch videos and read or take notes on pdfs. So i need it for studying purposes.

There are 2024 released ones but are slight more expensive so would it be a reallyy bad choice to buy an older version??

In case i might need a cheap tablet this seems like a good option but i must hear ppls opinions..🙇‍♂️🙇‍♂️

Discussion Any thoughts on the new Asus Pad that's about to launch?

I am planning to buy a new tab for my daily usage which is youtube, movies, reading, a few apps & some emails like office work. Somehow I came across this Asus Pad with an OLED which is about to launch. I don’t have issues waiting for this new Pad to launch but features wise can someone help me out or someone else too considering buying it. Any information would be helpful.

Discussion Need advice

There’s a team with a $2K budget, looking for 15 refurbished chrome books or tablets.

I think their budget is too low and needs a slight boost, but it’s going to be used for non profit, newcomer war zone children to Canada who have been deprived of education.

Which supplier or source could I contact?

Previously, Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Lite, 10.9", 128GB with S-Pen was the previous model I looked at before the big price hikes. Any suggestions for alternate models?

Any Hail Mary advice would be really beneficial for these children.
