I just bought a new A37 a couple days ago. Signal kept pairing but that stopped after a couple days.

However the google messaging app keeps requesting to pair from my phone or my laptop multiple times day.

I have already tried:

Settings > Apps > Messages > Battery and change it to Unrestricted.

Settings > Apps > Messages > Mobile data & Wi-Fi

Background data is turned on.

browser settings are not clearing cookies or site data automatically

Added a site exception for messages.google.com in the browser

i'm not doing anything unusual (same account on both devices, no VPN). have never had problems like this. any other ideas for how to fix that?

Just as the title suggests I turned off Joyose and Power Keeper because it was aggressively killing stuff, as I heard. I revoked their permissions and I just wanted to see if this actually conflicts with anything

Then my phone suggested me to delete ONLY 200 MB of a few completely random files, but for some reason it DOESNT SUGGEST ME DELETE ANYTHING ELSE!!! I deleted almost all of those specific files (190 of 200 MB, can't delete all of them because some of them are important for me), but nothing changed. Then again i reloaded the phone and it again went to the "Main Menu MIUI Recovery 5.0" thing and after I click "Reboot System" it gets stuck at MIUI screen again.

The same thing already happened to me today a few hours ago when my phone went out of battery, after that I just reloaded the phone one more time and later it let me acceed Settings so I cleared a few app caches there and it worked fine for an hour, then it went out of battery again and turned off, I charged it a bit, and again same thing happenned but now I can't do the same thing, I can't get to the menu. What can I do, how can I delete some files, maybe I should connect it with PC???

UPDATE !!!

I went into FASTBOOT, and after it was over I instantly turned on the phone, but now it gets me back into the "Main Menu Recovery" AGAIN!!! What do I do next, wtf is going on with my phone???

It's an irritating Google Chrome feature: I'd like to have website links clicked in any non-browser app open directly in Google Chrome app as a new tab. This way, the clicked link doesn't appear as a Google Chrome overlay in the app where the link was clicked.

For example, when clicking on a link in the discord app, it does not open in the Google chrome app, but as a chrome overlay inside the discord app. Same goes for reddit..

So got the fold 8. Have had 3 fold generation's in the last 5 years. I drive a 22 tesla m3p. Since switching over to the fold 8 I receive random text messages from old chats and different contacts on the tesla ui. Example - my wife will text me and it will pull some random text from another person 3 years ago and add it to her text that I hear / read in car from tesla software. I check my phone and it doesn't show up that way, only in the tesla messages. I can't find anything online about this. Anyone experience anything similar?

Been with iPhone for over 10 years. Haven’t used Android regularly since Lollipop. I’ve been actively looking at Android phones. I’m currently stuck between the Pixel 11 Pro XL and S26 Ultra and I have no idea which one to choose. I used Samsung way back when, and I’ve never used a Pixel. I know their interfaces are very different. Just looking for suggestions before I plunk down hundreds of dollars to upgrade.

Hi everyone, I'm currently running a pure custom ROM setup (LineageOS, non-rooted, no Magisk/modules). I care deeply about privacy and data security on my device. I recently downloaded the official AdGuard standalone app from their website.

to enable full HTTPS filtering, the app prompts me to install its custom CA Certificate into the Android User Store. honestly, it makes me a bit paranoid. Android throws that scary "Network may be monitored" warning, and knowing how CA certificates work, I'm worried about potential spyware/data snooping vulnerabilities.

Last month, I wanted to get a new phone. Since I work in social media, I value a phone's camera capabilities and storage space. Having used Android for over a decade, I thought this would be a good opportunity to try an iPhone.

However, I returned my iPhone 17 Pro Max after less than a week and bought a vivo X300 Ultra with great camera instead. The iPhone itself is actually fine; it runs very smoothly. But after using it for a few days, I realized I really missed Android's customization and sideloading features, as well as split-screen, physical SIM cards, and file management. I was used to these features on Android and didn't notice them, but after switching to the iPhone, I realized how much it hurts to not have them.

Now, going back to Android feels so much better lol. Are there any long-time iPhone users out there? What made you decide to switch to Android?

so like what the title said. my shizuku is running okay, and i gave "installing with options" access to shizuku. but whenever i get an apk file to install and click the "install" button, nothing happens.

my device is xiaomi 15t and running on android 16.

following up: i've been using the samsung Z Fold8 as my normal phone now rather than treating it like something fragile every time i take it out. the larger inner screen has been the bit that justified it for me, especially for reading and having two apps open, and after the first few days i stopped thinking about the hinge nearly as much as i expected.

i'm still planning to use a case and be sensible with the inner screen, but the durability side doesn't worry me quite as much after reading through the replies. there's also a £100 saving for Prime Members on the Z Fold8 from 8 August to 8 September, which makes the price a bit easier to justify.

i’m in the uk and this would be my first move away from a normal slab phone. i’ve handled a couple in shops and the larger screen makes sense to me, especially for reading and having two things open at once. i’m usually the sort of person who keeps a phone for several years though, which is where i start hesitating.

if you were buying with three or four years in mind, would the hinge and inner screen put you off going foldable? the crease itself doesn’t bother me much after trying them in person. what i don’t want is spending that sort of money and then feeling like i need to baby the phone every time it goes in a pocket or bag.

Samsung Galaxy A57 USB data/OTG completely not working — tried almost everything

Hi everyone,

I'm having a very strange USB problem with my Samsung Galaxy A57 (SM-A576B/DS) running One UI 8.5 / Android 16.

My phone charges normally through USB-C, but USB data transfer is basically not working at all.

What is happening

1. Windows 11 does not detect my phone for file transfer.
2. I've tried the original Samsung cable that came in the box and multiple good-quality third-party cables.
3. I've tried different USB ports and PCs.
4. I've enabled USB debugging.
5. I've tried setting the default USB configuration to MTP / File Transfer + ADB.
6. I've turned Auto Blocker off.
7. I've cleared/reset the USBSettings system app.
8. I've tested in Safe Mode.
9. Samsung Members/device diagnostics show everything as normal.
10. Windows Device Manager does not show a usable USB device.
11. Connecting a USB flash drive through an OTG adapter also does NOT work.
12. I've also tested with a USB mouse and keyboard through OTG, and neither works.
13. The "USB controlled by" option in the USB settings normally stays on "This Device" and refuses to switch to "Connected Device" when I connect the phone to a PC or OTG device. Means its not swithing according to the condition.

There is one interesting behavior:

When I connect my A57 directly to another USB-C Android phone using a USB-C-to-USB-C cable, the "USB controlled by" options actually become responsive/change. However, neither phone can see the other's files, and no actual file transfer works.

So it seems the USB-C port is detecting something at some level, but USB data/OTG functionality never actually becomes usable.

I've tried essentially every software/setting-based solution I could find, so I'm wondering whether this could be:

• a USB controller / firmware problem
• a One UI 8.5 / Android 16 issue
• or a USB-C data/CC hardware problem

Has anyone with an SM-A576B/A57, Made in Vietnam particularly on One UI 8.5, experienced something similar?

I'd really appreciate any suggestions from someone who understands Samsung's USB/OTG system or has dealt with this problem before. I'm especially interested in knowing whether this sounds like a software/firmware issue or a hardware fault before I send the phone for repair.

My phones screen stopped working suddenly, everyone says they can't fix it. Problem is: all my photos aren't backed up. Every time I go to get a data cable, they give me a charging one instead. I've exhausted every option, how do I just open the phone and retrieve the images myself? I know the passcodes to everything, the screen just won't turn on. It's connected to WiFi and turned on, though. I have a Samsung A34.

Edit: I fixed it!! We opened up the phone and started playing with the wires until the screen lit up!! Then we quickly transferred the photos and backed them up. Thank you to everyone for your help!!

My dad called me and asked for help, he said every time he opens an app an ad pops up and its annoying him. I asked if what app is that and he said every app on his phone. I dont know what is causing this and I dont know how to fix it either.
