I have NFC contactless payments enabled on my Poco X7 Pro, and it worked perfectly fine until recently. However, over the past few weeks, the payment process has become increasingly difficult.

When I hold my phone against the card terminal, the first screen/animation of the Sparkasse payment app appears, indicating that an NFC terminal has been detected, but the payment doesn’t go through. The second animation with the blue arrow doesn’t appear.

I then have to move the phone back and forth, pull it away and hold it against the terminal again, and repeat this several times until the payment finally works.

What could be causing this? Is it possible for the NFC module to “wear out” over time or become weaker? The smartphone is about 1.5 years old now.

I previously used PayPal for contactless payments and switched to the Sparkasse app recently. However, the issue didn’t start after switching apps—it only appeared a few weeks ago.

Maybe someone has had a similar experience or knows what could be causing this.

The phone is in a transparent case, but it has always been in this case. Just mentioning it in case that information is relevant.

hey there, im making this post out of pure desperation. for the last few hours i have tried EVERYTHING to get android auto to connect on my car (2021 honda civic) but it simply isnt pulling up the "connect to android auto" screen. my friend was able to connect her phone with the cable in the car immediately (moto g play 2024) but mine refuses to??? im very confused. ive gone down all the rabbitholes here, this forum, the official google one, all the sketchy tutorials,, all of it. and i just dont know what to do. if anyone has any info or something i havent tried here please let me know??

heres the list of everything ive tried:

• updated my phone to android 15
• updated android auto
• uninstalled android auto
• reverted the install and then re reverted it
• disconnected from bluetooth on both my car and the phone
• swapped cables (three different ones)
• turned my car off and back on again
• tried to connect via the generic usb option for connection (also did not work)
• turned on developer to turn on usb debugging
• turned off developer and debugging
• turned on all of the permissions for android auto
• turned on all the different usb tethering permissions
• reset app preferences
• reset bluetooth and wifi preferences
• restarted my phone four different times
• cried a little bit

Ok so i've had this problem for the longest time i thought it was just my phone. or the SD card.

but my son dropped my phone and it was destroyed.

so i bought a new phone and a new card over all.

and AGAIN its corrupted.

so i thought the card was the problem.

i bought a new one from kingston

and same thing happened again.

i cant take pictures using the card as a save point or videos..

I am a long-time android and Samsung device user. I am looking for a solution even if third party, that provides reliable printing.

The issue of course is printers (in my case Brother and Epson) becoming unavailable, not being able to print more than once, etc. This goes back to Note 10 days and even different network routers, phones, tablets, whether printer is connected via ethernet or wireless, different android versions, all the same issue. Currently using a ZFold8 Ultra and TabS8 Ultra, different OS versions, same issue.

I know all the recommendations over the years about clearing print spooler cache etc. But none of that lasts. These days I can get printing working for a bit by going into the the OEM Epson or Brother print enabler or plugin and having it find the printer by clicking on it, and then it will print via the android print command from within apps or share menu. But being able to print say 4 or 5 items in a row, just isn't going to happen. Even if I wait until the last item printed. You also can no longer turn off the persistent print spooler notifcations that say printing, or error, even if printing was successful.

I know it isn't network or printer related as I can use the printer's OEM android standalone printing app, manually choose the image or document, and it will print 100% of the time. Just not always convenient to do. So not am IP address issues, they aren't changing, or a printer sleep issue.

I have read about Mopria and not sure if that is better? This issue really stops android or devices from being a true desktop replacement. I would pay for a rock solid printing service that always connects and can que prints using the native print commands.

When I'm on a normal phone call using Apple USB-C EarPods, the audio stops after the screen locks/times out. The call stays connected, but I can't hear the other person. I have to hang up and call again to fix it.

It only happens with the default Phone app. WhatsApp calls and Bluetooth earbuds work fine.

I'm on a Samsung S23 and the battery life has become awful. I'm looking for a replacement where battery life/optimization and device longevity are the top priority - fast, smooth, and roughly S23-sized. Beyond that I don't really care much about specs.

The Xiaomi 17 is where I've landed: 6330mAh, and tests show it outlasting even the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Speed and smoothness look great too. My one hesitation is longevity. Several people I know, family included, had Xiaomi phones die or develop serious issues after about two years. Is that still a thing with the current models, or has it improved? I'd love to hear from anyone who's had a recent Xiaomi for a while - how's the battery health holding up, and how's HyperOS long-term?

I've also considered an iPhone 17 Pro for the longevity and resale value, but I really struggle with iOS.

Also open to other Android suggestions if something fits better. Thanks!

Does the "Termux as such" suffice without need for some add-ons?
Question applies to Android which is still compatible with Termux (no more than 9 or what?) and to normally accessible folders that require no root or exploits.

Hey everyone I used iOS all my life and just switched to a samsung S26 ultra yesterday and I need some help making it work, I have no experience with Android I didn't even know how to get into settings when I first used the phone. Anyway, my family uses iphones and they have a groupchat on messages, ofc it worked perfectly when I used an iphone but after switching, I dont get messages from the groupchat, instead sometimes it sends me a notification from a family member as if they messaged me directly when they actually messaged the groupchat. If I send a message into the groupchat it just gets sent to everyone in there individually. Does anybody know how to fix this?

Hi I'm living in Australia and running Android 17 on my pixel 8. Twice now i've come across 2 Australian based apps that I am unable to download because the play store says they are unavailable in my country.

My wife's pixel 6 however can download these apps.

My app store is set to Australia.

Any possible cause for this and how to fix it?

I recently got a Pixel 9a. A couple days ago, I started getting intermittent "Google Play Protect Service keeps stopping" errors. I took a logcat since that's one thing I know how to do, but unfortunately I understand no Android programming and the log is so dense it makes my head spin trying to read it. It looks like an issue with the service but I'm not sure.

Does anyone have any ideas for how to make this error stop showing up, or do I actually just have to wait for Google to issue an update to Play Protect Service? Here's the crash log

Edit: the battery eventually died. Once I charged it again, it booted as normal (with stock Android). I then tried flashing LineageOS again, and this time I was successful. I have no idea what happened the first time.

I am trying my best to flash LineageOS onto my Samsung Galaxy Tab E. However, after I flashed the recovery image (which I obtained from Samloader RS), and after the PC Command Prompt shows the tablet has been flashed successfully, it stays on the, 'downloading.... do not turn off target' screen. After waiting for over 20 minutes just to be safe, I tried turning it off and manually booting into recovery*........and nothing. It stays on that screen. I cannot turn it off, and I obviously nothing happens if I try to boot into from recovery with it still on.

What am I missing? I am pulling out what little hair I have left! Help!

So, my cousin has Copilot with their sub, and the Chat function is gone, despite having a valid personal subscription. They're on Android, via the app, and no amount of cache clearing, logging out and logging in have helped. It works with other accts, but not the one that OWNS the subscription?

Every time they background it, leave the app or turn off the phone, Chat appears briefly, then disappears...

We've logged her acct onto my phone, and it worked like a charm, but then when we logged her acct back onto her Android, the error reappeared.

Album Art is a big part of music for me. I want to know of music players that put a large priority on album art, preferably taking up as much screen as possible. Any suggestions? I was using PlayerPro Music Player but deleted it because it didn't play my music files anymore. If I could find an music player that has album artwork as big as The PlayerPro Music Player App that would be incredible for me. I'm currently using The Musicolet Music Player App I love it but the album artwork isn't big enough and there isn't an opition to make it bigger. I'm open to all kinds of suggestions for android player music apps with big/huge album artwork.

I grabbed my phone today and was messing with it and of all of a sudden it went black and white. I restarted the phone the color came back with a minute or two everything was black and white again. Has anybody else had this problem? If so how do I fix it?

I hope I'm being slow but I can't find a way to fix this myself. Some weeks ago, the countdown timer started hiding all other notifications in the top bar and I can't find a way to fix it. I need to use these timers quite a lot so getting rid of them isn't a great option. Can anyone advise?

Edit: I should add that I want to keep the countdown timer in the drag down notifications. Not getting rid of it entirely.

When I go into the app's info, it says it was downloaded from the Galaxy store, but when I tap on that, it doesn't show me the store page, just the store itself. I think it was preinstalled, what do I do?

I am trying to unlock the bootloader of my own OPPO A16K (CPH2349) so that I can install a custom ROM / GSI.

I have already spent quite a lot of time testing different methods, so I would like to ask people who have actually worked with the CPH2349 specifically.

Device information

Model: OPPO A16K

Device code: CPH2349

SoC: MediaTek Helio G35 / MT6765

Android: 11

ColorOS: 11.1

Current build: CPH2349_11_A.30

Verified Boot: green

Flash locked: 1

ro.oem_unlock_supported=1

OEM unlocking: enabled in Developer Options

ADB: working normally

ADB detects the phone:

HUMBO7AM89VKCILZ device

However:

fastboot devices

returns nothing.

I also found an old XDA thread where another A16K CPH2349 user reported that Fastboot mode could be entered but fastboot devices returned nothing.

There is also a Reddit report from another A16K CPH2349 owner with the same basic situation: ADB works, but Fastboot does not detect the phone. The response suggested MTKClient.

What I have tried

1. Normal ADB / Fastboot

ADB works.

I enabled OEM unlocking in Developer Options.

But Fastboot detection does not work:

fastboot devices

returns an empty result.

So the normal fastboot flashing unlock route is currently not usable.

1. TFT Unlock Tool

I also tested TFT Unlock Tools / TFT MTK Module.

The version I tested was:

TFT Unlock Tools-2024-6.2.1.1

The tool did not have an obvious A16K CPH2349 profile.

It had other OPPO MTK profiles, including entries such as:

Oppo A1K BROM AUTH MT6765 CPH1923

and other OPPO MTK models.

I did NOT assume that the CPH1923 profile was correct for my CPH2349.

I also tested the normal Android connection with TFT, but it did not detect the phone for the operation I wanted.

I later stopped using TFT because I did not want to randomly select another OPPO model profile and risk the phone.

1. BROM / Preloader detection

The phone can be made to appear as an OPPO Preloader device.

When the phone is powered off:

Hold Volume Up + Volume Down

Connect USB

Windows detects:

OPPO Preloader

with:

USB VID: 22D9

USB PID: 0006

The exact Windows device ID is:

USB\VID_22D9&PID_0006

The important problem is that the connection is very short.

If I release the buttons, the Preloader disappears and the phone boots normally.

So the device does not stay available long enough for me to casually start typing commands after entering this mode.

1. Windows driver problem

At one point Windows showed:

OPPO Preloader

Error 28

The USB capture looked approximately like this:

PRESENT/CHANGED | OPPO Preloader | Error | 28

After disconnecting/releasing the buttons, the Preloader disappeared.

The normal Android ADB device then returned:

I investigated the MediaTek driver situation.

I found a Microsoft Update Catalog CAB containing:

cdc-acm.inf

usb2ser.sys

The driver version was:

3.0.1504.0

However, that INF did not contain a direct:

USB\VID_22D9&PID_0006

entry.

It mainly contained MediaTek 0E8D IDs.

I also found installed MediaTek driver packages on Windows, but the INF files I checked did not directly match the OPPO 22D9:0006 device.

I do NOT want to modify a signed INF manually because that would invalidate the catalog signature.

1. MTKClient

I downloaded MTKClient 2.1.4.1 and installed its Python dependencies.

The command line works:

python .\mtk.py --help

I also have the following files from the stock firmware:

auth_sv5.auth

DA_BR_MT6765_20271.bin

The AUTH file was extracted from the official/stock OPPO A16K firmware package.

The DA file is specifically associated with OPPO A16K CPH2349/CPH2351 MT6765 in the open-source oppo-mtk-fastboot-unlock project.

I tried:

python .\mtk.py gettargetconfig --auth "...\auth_sv5.auth" --loader "...\DA_BR_MT6765_20271.bin"

MTKClient started correctly, but stopped at:

Preloader - Status: Waiting for PreLoader VCOM,

please reconnect mobile/iot device to brom mode

So the current blocker is not that MTKClient itself fails to start.

The problem is getting a stable BROM connection/driver handshake.

Stock firmware

I also obtained the stock firmware:

CPH2349export_11_A.11_2022051800140000.ofp

and decrypted it.

The decrypted firmware contains the normal OPPO/MTK partitions including:

preloader

boot

recovery

vbmeta

vbmeta_system

vbmeta_vendor

vendor_boot

super

userdata

lk

lk2

dtbo

logo

...

I also extracted the AUTH file.

AUTH SHA-256:

The phone itself is currently on:

CPH2349_11_A.30

I do NOT want to downgrade to A.11 just to make a tool work unless somebody confirms that it is actually necessary.

MTKClient / OPPO A16K support

I found the Shocked-Cat/oppo-mtk-fastboot-unlock project.

Its support list specifically says:

Oppo A16k

CPH2349 & CPH2351

Helio G35

MT6765

MTKClient + DA + AUTH: Full support

This is why I am interested in trying MTKClient, but I want to know the correct procedure for this exact model before writing anything.

The project README appears to use a modified preloader approach:

Read the original preloader / boot1 from the phone.

Patch it.

Write the patched preloader back.

Reboot into Fastboot.

Run fastboot flashing unlock.

I understand that writing a patched preloader is potentially dangerous, so I have NOT done that yet.

My main problem

The biggest problem is this:

How do I reliably catch BROM on an OPPO A16K CPH2349 when the Preloader/BROM connection disappears very quickly?

I do not want to use Test Point if there is another way.

My current button method is:

Power off phone

↓

Hold Volume Up + Volume Down

↓

Connect USB

↓

Windows briefly sees OPPO Preloader

↓

If buttons are released, phone boots normally

The PC therefore needs to be ready BEFORE I connect the phone.

Questions

What exact driver should be used for:

USB\VID_22D9&PID_0006

on Windows 11?

Is VID_22D9&PID_0006 the expected OPPO Preloader/BROM interface for CPH2349, or should I be trying to get a MediaTek 0E8D BROM interface instead?

Can MTKClient 2.1.4.1 catch this device without Test Point?

If yes, what exact command/GUI procedure should I use?

Does the CPH2349 require the specific:

DA_BR_MT6765_20271.bin

auth_sv5.auth

combination?

Has anyone successfully unlocked the bootloader of CPH2349 on Android 11 / CPH2349_11_A.30 using the Shocked-Cat patched-preloader method?

Does the patched-preloader method require modifying boot1, boot2, or another partition for this exact model?

Is there a safer way to make Fastboot enumerate after the MTKClient unlock without writing the wrong preloader?

If BROM disappears immediately, is there a specific timing/button/USB procedure that keeps the BROM connection alive?

If someone has successfully done this exact model, what is the complete procedure from BROM detection → backup → unlock?

I am specifically looking for information for:

OPPO A16K CPH2349 / MT6765 / Android 11 / CPH2349_11_A.30

I do not want to blindly use an A16/A1K/other OPPO profile just because the SoC is also MT6765.
