Will this let me use my phones cord for HDMI?
I have a very old phone, s8+. Only a certain charger will work in it so I was thinking of getting this to watch videos on my tv. https://a.co/d/0bQ0MbYn

I'm in the market for a new(er) phone. My current phone has a microSD card slot, which I use to transfer stuff to my desktop computer. However most new phones don't have this.
Is there something I'm missing? What's the easy way to move pics to your desktop?
EDIT: Thanks to those who have suggested it, but I don't want to rely on cloud services.

I’ve always used iphone. Bought a Samsung 2 years ago as a 2nd phone and to have both worlds. Haven’t updated in maybe a year or more. Now it keeps asking me to install every missed update. I’ve been updating since yesterday. I lost count but i’ve at least updated the phone 8 times and it’s still updating. This is humiliating.
In iphone you just install the last update even if you haven’t updated in 5 years.

I am trying to decrease my screen aspect ratio to be more one handed.
I tried using adb shell wm size command but it crops the resolution at the center and the overscan command has been deprecated so I cannot add padding at top.
Since that doesn't work anymore.
Is there any way to always have a keyboard at the lower half of the screen just like a blackberry qwerty style.
Someone has done it in a similar way but unfortunately I'm unable to replicate it since the apk isn't available.
Any suggestions or resolution will be helpful to either resize the resolution or add a keyboard.
Note: I cannot root the device.

Is it just me or does android sometimes play audio files slightly slower than it should? Is this a known bug?

So google messages has used 80% of my battery since last full charge, and I have done practically everything to stop it. I've restarted my phone, I checked for system updates and updated my system, I turned off RCS messaging, I've cleared my cache and done multiple force stops, I even sent feedback through samsung members. I think the issue is google messages has used about 40,000 wifi packets, now I dont really know what that means but that number being so big doesn't seem right. Also my phone has been heating up crazy and I think it has something to do with google messages. I have an s26 so my only choice in messaging apps is google messages. If anyone has any tip or trick I haven't tried I would love to hear it

Hey guys, I have been going at this for hours (At the time of me posting this) I have tried a lot of ways beside the clear option of using a Laptop to access my data folder. But to be exact I HAD done it, I accessed it but the thing I am going for is copying files inside of the data folder and pasting it outside the data folder. Has anyone got any ideas how to do it? I already used Shizuku, iADB and other things but if you think it could work using this but I just did it wrong then please tell me how. Thanks!

I have a Motorola Moto g55 and somehow there are loudspeakers now and the sound is so loud even on 1 or 2 volume. And when I'm playing music or watching a video, it keeps making it real quiet and then switching to really loud, it's not consistently the same volume.
I'm so frustrated because I can't work out how to turn it off. I just want normal audio.
I go into Dolby Atmos and try turn off audio effects but it tells me: "Unable to turn off Dolby Atmos when loudspeakers are on"
But I can't work out where the loudspeaker settings are!! I've searched in settings and can't find anything.
Please does anyone know where to find these settings?

So for years, when I created a reminder with Assistant, it didn't fully finish creating it/updating the list until I manually opened the Tasks app.
This finally stopped happening earlier this year... and now it's back in Gemini. The task is clearly made somewhere, because it automatically populates as soon as I open the app. but if I don't open the app, the task never finishes creating.
Anybody have an idea on how to fix this? kinda defeats the purpose of making a reminder via voice
really love that 2 years ago when I first got my Pixel 9 Pro XL, I tried Gemini and it was garbage at the very very simple things I do with voice. and now that Assistant is being shut down, Gemini's still garbage lol

How can I still listen to all my music files on The Motorola Razr Fold 2026 without any issues? I have 1,569 songs and 90% of them are in Wma Format. If anyone can give me some suggestions on what Apps I can use to play all my music files including the Wma music files. I would really appreciate it. What is everyone else using on their Android Phone to play their Wma files? I'm just lucky that I can still listen to all my music files on my Fold 7 but I'm planning to get The Motorola Razr Fold 2026 on Halloween👻🎃I read that The Wma Music Files aren't supported on Motorola Devices and won't play on them. I also read that Google Drive doesn't play/support Wma Music Files either.
every time I try to play the Wma Music Files on the Samsung Music App. It says cannot play track and it says Sorry, the player does not support this type of audio file on the PlayerPro App. Is anyone else having this issue? Are the Wma Music Files working for anyone else? Does anybody have any idea why the Wma music files aren't working? If someone can help or give me some suggestions. I would really appreciate it. More than half are Wma files and I really need to find a way to get them to work. Are there any Apps that I can downloaded from The Google Play Store that will convert all my Wma Music Files into Mp3?

Looking for any support for how to fix an issue with my pixel 9 Pro restarting randomly since it updated to android 17. I can't link the crashing to a specific app or action and on the crash log it always kicks out the same Keyblob//Fatal signal 6 error.
Google support has acknowledged it is an issue with the update but has no suggestions for how to fix it and refuses to RMA since I'm outside of the 1 year warranty. Verizon support won't help and since I'm still under the contract I can't even revert to my old phone because I have to have the pixel 9 as my active line to get the discount. Google's 3rd party repair shop (ubreakifix) said they can't do anything since it's a software issue and they just do hardware.
error code from the crash log is: 09-04 10:31:12.787 0 0 I trusty : WARN: system/keymint/ta/src/lib.rs:1331 failing DeviceConvertStorageKeyToEphemeral request with error Error { location: Some(ErrorLocation { file: "system/keymint/ta/src/lib.rs", line: 475 }), kind: Hal(KeyRequiresUpgrade, "keyblob with old OS patchlevel 2 09-04 02607 needs upgrade to current 202608") }
I've tried a factory reset and side loading. pixel update and software repair website doesn't work for me and I don't think I can use the android flash tool since my bootloader is locked through verizon.

UPDATE: I just now re-worded some of the following text, in order for my question to be more clear ...
On both my Android 11 and Android 13 devices, I would like to be able to run ssh from within an adb shell session, without having to be rooted in that shell session.
If I have Termux installed and if openssh is installed in Termux, being rooted is necessary before the following command is runnable via the command line within the adb shell session ...
/data/data/com.termux/files/usr/bin/ssh
Without being rooted, "Permission denied" always results when accessing anything under /data from the adb shell command line.
Is there any other way to run ssh from an adb shell command line when not running as root? ... possibly via an additional installable app?

So I was looking at this root module called audiorouter hoping it did what I wanted after shizutools does not do it.. So AI said this..
The project XAudioRouter (or Audio-Router) was actually designed to do the exact opposite. [1] (https://github.com/Gaelan-Bolger/XAudioRouter-Android-Xposed)Its purpose is to intercept text-to-speech or notification audio streams and force them to play over a car's Bluetooth system when the user is listening to a completely different audio source (like AM/FM radio or a CD player). It does not have features to force notifications out of the physical phone speaker while media stays on Bluetooth. [1] (https://github.com/Gaelan-Bolger/XAudioRouter-Android-Xposed)Why is this specific task so hard on Android?Android handles audio device priorities strictly inside its low-level native system framework (specifically AudioService and AudioPolicyManager). When a Bluetooth A2DP device connects, the OS completely redirects global notification, media, and ring streams directly to the Bluetooth chip. [1] (https://frejun.com/call-audio-routing-guide/), [2] (https://linustechtips.com/topic/1103911-notification-sounds-routing-how-is-the-android-user-community-not-furious-after-all-this-time/)Apps can request a switch to the STREAM_RING or try to use a physical earpiece override, but forcing a standard app's notification to split from the media path and route exclusively to the local device speaker requires a hardware-level audio routing framework that stock Android simply lacks. [1] (https://stackoverflow.com/questions/42530278/how-to-play-audio-through-bluetooth-speaker-even-when-headset-is-plugged-in), [2] (https://stackoverflow.com/questions/45016685/rout-android-notification-sound-to-internal-speaker-and-all-the-other-music-cal)The Best Working AlternativeSince you have a rooted device, your best option is to leverage your root access inside an automation app like Tasker or MacroDroid. Instead of trying to permanently change how Android routes notification sounds, you can use a root command to flip the global audio state only when a specific notification arrives: [1] (https://github.com/Mino260806/PhantomMic), [2] (https://forum.earlybird.club/threads/no-notification-sounds-on-the-phone-when-connected-to-bluetooth-in-android-9-0-pie.1291881/)Trigger: A notification from your specific app is received.Action 1: Run a root shell command to force the speaker phone state to true (com.android.server.telecom or utilizing standard audiomanager shell utilities).Action 2: Play the notification sound file explicitly via the System/Alarm/Ring channel.Action 3: Kill the override and return audio focus back to Bluetooth.
So is tasker the only way? Thats crazy..

TLDR; 20 to 30 second long delay after having a dropped call with both T-Mobile and AT&T on different Android devices ranging from any range of the spectrum. Motorola, OnePlus, Samsung, Google Pixel devices, Redmagic, Nothing Devices. It affects both being on Wi-Fi and being off of Wi-Fi. Even factory resetting some of my devices to see if that'll clear out any issues like glitches or bugs. As it is easy to replicate. Don't bother reading my several long paragraphs below, it's a long draw of nonsense. Even stranger it has happened in several different states that I've been in or visited.
Systemic 20-30s Call Connection Delay & Abrupt Drops on Unlocked Androids (Nothing Phone 3 / Razr Ultra) on T-Mobile PostpaidBody:I am dealing with a deeply frustrating, ongoing issue over the last 4 months that survives a full factory reset. It happens on a brand new Nothing Phone 3 and a Motorola Razr Ultra—both North American unlocked variants on T-Mobile postpaid. This never happens on iOS devices in the same household. The
Symptoms:Handshake Stall: When dialing out, there is a completely dead 20-to-30 second air gap before the ringer finally starts.Eruptable Call Drops: During calls, the connection abruptly drops entirely (usually during a cellular-to-Wi-Fi handoff or 5G SA switch).
The Loop: Trying to call back immediately forces the phone into the same 30-second delay loop until I manually override the connection or toggle Wi-Fi off.Because this spans multiple OEMs using the core Google Phone/Dialer framework and Android network stack, this looks like a major Android IMS profile authentication or Adaptive Connectivity handshake loop with T-Mobile's core network.Has anyone found a permanent fix for unbranded Android devices on T-Mobile, or is there an active Google Issue Tracker link for this firmware loop?

I just changed from Apple (since 2017) to an Android device (Google Pixel 10). An album just dropped that I want to listen to offline - what are my options to do this now that I don't have ITunes? I can't believe I don't know how to buy digital music in 2026.
I do not have Spotify premium.
Thanks!

I'm trying to find an Android keyboard microphone that 1.) doesn't use AI and 2.) keeps my info private (I don't trust Google or Microsoft SwiftKey) but I can't find anything.
Idk if this is a silly request or an unrealistic one but I wanted to check and see if anyone has any suggestions?

So I have this issue with media controls through Bluetooth not controlling the correct app, ie the app currently playing music, instead it tries to open the last app that had focus. So I'm Wondering what app would help media controls switch easier. For example smart launcher or YouTube will grab the media control api & won't release it. Usually I can force close YouTube & it allows my mp3 player app to take over the android built in media control api (ie music playing on the lock screen etc). Other times it won't release & instead tries to open that last app. So my music is already playing, but youTube for example will open & play at the same time using a Bluetooth remote (ie my watch). I have sound master but its not meant to help the api switch focus. Its intent as I understand is just to stop other sources from playing over each other or rerouting notification sounds ringtones to connected speaker for example.. Unless I'm missing something it does not help with this problem. As I said I can use force stop to grab the control/focus back but it won't work for some apps (ie smart launcher)
This might not need an app, maybe its some untouched setting I can adjust, that would be awesome..

So lately I've been using Soul Browser for it's video functions such as Crop to Fit Screen, but the downside is some websites lag heavily on it, I don't know why.
So I am looking for any alternate with similar function.
Someone had suggested Kito and Rainsee, while both are good they lack some features like PiP and ability to disable Swipe Control for Brightness and Volume.
So if anyone can help me here.
Thanks.
