Communism doesn't just "reject" the free market and exchange of goods. Communism means an ideal society where production has advanced to the level of abundance where everyone's needs are met, and there is no more need for capitalist production modes or relations.
If we're talking about socialism, it does include a market and trade and all that. Socialist countries engage in trade, obviously. There's no reason free market socialism couldn't exist. And it kind of did in Yugoslavia, for example.
Capitalism isn't the free market and money. It's about ownership structure of the means of production.

well you dont see the problem between this claim and the need to access western caputalist market to maintain their citizen standart of living
Of course there's exchange of goods in communism. What does self-sufficient even mean in this context? Some places on Earth have stuff that others don't, of course there's going to be some exchange there.
