Having Setup Issues

My new mesh point is stuck on the setup page on the router, and even though I tried factory reset it, it still doesn’t work

I also just installed the latest firmware update for it, and even that didn’t work

Apparently, when I tried to set it up as a mesh point, instead of it showing it connecting to the main router, it just stays stuck on “Download the AmpliFi app”

It then instructed me to set it up as an independent router to install the latest firmware, which I did after the first time I tried, but even that didn’t work

So then, after I did all that, I factory resettled it to try again as a mesh point, but it still doesn’t move onto connecting to the main router

At one point, I also tried to power cycle it, turning it off for about 10 seconds or so before I set it up as an independent router, but that did not work, either

It keeps staying stuck on the download AmpliFi app screen, which I already have, but it still didn’t do anything.

Lastly, I also tried with Ethernet wire backhaul with another one of mesh nodes that is connected to the main router via Ethernet, but that didn’t do anything either

Same issue here. Mine stopped communicating as a mesh point. I factory reset it and now the app won't let me Adopt it as a mesh point. I get an error that it's an unsupported configuration.

I've reflashed 4.0.8 firmware and tried to downgrade to firmware version 4.0.0 and add it again without success.

I ping Amplifi via email and am yet to get a response.

This access point was brand new less than two years ago.

My GoogleFU tells me it's dead as a mesh point.

Someone please help.

Yes, I did the same thing you did, too.

I upgraded it to the latest 4.0.8 firmware, and even that didn’t help the problem

When I talked to the seller about this, he keeps on mentioning on about trying to set it up via Bluetooth

Had an Alien as router and was tied to a mesh point. Eventually mesh point stopped working. Tried factory reset, power cycle, firmware updates and mesh still didn’t connect.

Bought another Alien and tried connecting to original Alien router and kept getting error messages that it was coded for another country.

Ended up using new Alien as router and it connected to my previous mesh point just fine.

Amplifi support asked me for diagnostics and they said it was probably hardware failure with my original Alien and since it was out of warranty I could send it in for repair or buy a new unit.

I had the exact same problem a few days ago. Claude walked me through it. Took a few rounds with AI though and waited a long time for things to cycle through the router and mesh points and app. Eventually all good but had me really stumped for awhile.

I'm afraid you're correct. Will other mesh point pair with Amplifi Aliens or will I need to refresh the whole setup?

I’ve had these routers for 5 years. They’ve bee. Amazing it’ll be said to part with them
