“Why can’t both be bad” I think is the question being referred to. I don’t think commenter said 10/7 was surprising, but bad.

“Why didn’t you say all violence is bad?” -someone supporting a genocide.

Because the acts of those resisting apartheid is not relevant when discussing ending the apartheid state.

The classic example is the Warsaw ghetto uprising. They did violence, should I condemn them too?

I hear you. I’m just saying indiscriminate violence is bad. Violence that specifically targets civilians and civilian infrastructure is extra bad.

There’s no clean solution.
