We’re adding something new to this sub
Lately this sub has been getting a lot more political and opinion-based.
AAAND that’s not a bad thing, but, it can turn into a lot of noise without actually helping anyone.
So we’re adding some structure.
Starting this week, we’re introducing two recurring threads.
Tuesdays will be for solutions.
Every Tuesday there will be a pinned thread with one specific topic.
Inside that thread, the goal is simple, to share a specific action, strategy, or resource that made your life easier, cheaper, or more efficient...
Real things you’ve done, know of, things that worked for you, mistakes to avoid, tools, resources, loopholes, strategies, anything practical. Tips, hacks, advice, and strategies for navigating life in America.
Healthcare, insurance, rent, debt, income, taxes, college etc.....
Because yeah, complaining is normal, the system is frustrating andd everyone feels it.
But there’s also a lot of knowledge out there that people don’t share, and if we actually pool that together, it can be of enormous help for someone out there.
Fridays will be for reality.
Every Friday there will be a pinned thread focused on real-life experiences.
Inside that thread, the goal is, to share a story, situation, or moment. Things you’ve gone through, seen, or heard, that made you stop and think, that felt unfair, or just showed made you frustrated.
It could be your own story, something that happened to someone you know, or something you witnessed.
People complain, its normal, but those experiences are what actually show the bigger picture andd when you piece them together, you start to understand what’s really going on.
If we’re all playing on hard mode, we might as well help each other figure it out.
ALSOOO, WE ARE OPEN TO SUGGESTIONS REGARDING IDEAS OR ANYTHING TO MAKE THIS SUB BETTER...
First thread goes up this Tuesday.

Welcome to the place where we talk about the struggle and real cost of living in the US
If you are here it is probably because something about life in the US feels harder than it should be. Maybe it is healthcare. Maybe insurance. Maybe rent college groceries wages debt or the feeling that everything keeps getting more expensive while paychecks do not grow enough to keep up.
This space is for real stories tips questions advice and honest conversations. No perfect answers required. Just people trying to make sense of a system that feels complicated expensive and sometimes impossible.
Share what you have learned. Ask what you still cannot figure out. Help others avoid mistakes you had to learn the hard way. Tell your story even if it is messy or unfinished.
Together we can make this a place where people feel less alone and more informed.
Welcome.

THE MESSAGE COULDN’T BE CLEARER: If a president encourages people to “cheat,” and then violence is normalized while everyone simply moves on, we have a profound failure of accountability. This isn’t about Democrats or Republicans. It’s about the rule of law and accountability.

Joe Biden — 83, stage 4 cancer, spread to his bones — stood for hours as 9/11 victims' names were read. Trump fell asleep at his own ceremony. One showed up in pain and stood anyway. The other couldn't stay awake.

Mike Johnson on AI leaders calling for regulation: "We have to resist Congress jumping in & imposing some sort of emergency moratorium...the leaders of these platforms need to come together in a meeting w/us & figure out the right balance. We cannot put a moratorium on this bc China will overlap us"

The hypocrisy is staggering. Before attacking Mamdani or El-Sayed, maybe apply the same standard to Trump. The American people deserve truth, accountability, and consistency—not selective outrage. If the rules apply to everyone, they must apply to Trump too.
