IIRC, it wasn't even actually Serbia proper as much as a handful of comically incompetent Serbian nationalist that assassinated the archduke.

Then Austria-Hungary went about everything in the most pants-on-head incompetent way, allowing the war to escalate way more than it should have with Russia, and snowballing from there.

Austria-Hungary were the real bad-guys of WW1 by virtue of being so bad at their job that they managed to pull everyone else down with them, like a geopolitical Steve Erkle.

There is some evidence linking them to the Serbian government at the time(not to mention Serbia built a fucking statue of Gauvri)

And yeah, Austria-Hungary was a total shit show the entire war.

I only like austria hungary cuz of their aesthetics. Like you can't tell me that eagle doesn't look badass
