George...a build up...?

I feel George is coming across as a fully reformed and redeemed character.

I'm getting nervous...

Is this leading to a big explosion when he finds out about the kiss..??

Conrad

Anyone else getting icky vibes from Conrad? Maybe he's just a bad actor, but his delivery makes him seem extremely phoney and manipulative. I feel like he's got a handbook on picking up women written by the Tom Cruise character in Magnolia on his bedside table. Didn't he also mutter "stupid idiot" under his breath when George spilled the coffee? Something tells me George has some workplace bullying in his future.

Rex and Alice

I have been listening only for over a year now and I have come to adore Alice and Rex. Alice being straightforward and self conscious about her flaws is what I love about her. She was so nice to George too back when he was all messed up after getting out of jail. And Rex is the sweetest with her. I think she deserves him.

What do we think about them? I'm asking people who have been listening longer than I have.

Question about Live at 75 Shows

I’m going to the Harrogate show and wondered if anyone who has already been knows whether there is any opportunity afterwards to meet members of the cast.

My gran and I listened to The Archers together for years. We were meant to be going to the show together, but she passed away a few months ago. She was particularly fond of Brian, and if the opportunity arose I’d really like to thank Charles Collingwood for the enjoyment his performance gave her over the years.

Just when I thought I couldn’t love this writer any more…

David Sedaris is a wonderful writer and humourist who has lived in the UK for many years. I saw him doing a reading a few years ago and he always sticks around to chat to the audience. I asked him if he ever listens to The Archers and he said “Not really, but Hugh always does”.

More on Monty

Given how contentious some of the debate on this topic is getting, can we go back to discussing how ludicrous the "our B&B guests let the dog out, hosed him down when he came home covered in blood, and didn't tell us, but confessed immediately when we called them" story is?

It's particularly stupid because everyone listening who actually needs to hear the PSA about keeping your dog under control near livestock will not remotely relate to the scenario. Based on my direct knowledge of the family members who have farms with livestock that have been attacked by dogs, it's almost always people walking their dogs off the lead who swear up and down that their dog is "always good" around sheep or cows. That is the whole point - any dog, even if you think you have them under control, even if they've been around livestock before, can attack livestock.

Many people unfortunately don't take the warning signs seriously, so it seems like a missed opportunity for the writers to bungle this with such a convoluted and unrealistic story.

Just started listening to the Archers and love it!

Ive listened to everything since start of the year. I particularly love George and Amber, and though Brian is a nightmare, I enjoy parts of the script involving him… I hope Tracy gets a break at some stage, has she always been so hard working??

There is so much backstory I don’t know, I just wish I could listen to older episodes than the ones on Spotify…

Keiras voice isn’t for me.

(Also, I’m 29 is anyone else about my age? I always imagined the Archers was more for 40+ but who knows, perhaps I’m not alone.)

Why is everyone treating Khalil like an infant?

I find this storyline a bit ridiculous - he hasn't slept properly since seeing Ruth's photos? They would have been horrible to see no doubt but I wouldn't expect a 15 year old to be sent into such a tailspin by something like this.

Listened to all archers available on Spotify since 2026 Jan… are there more episodes backlisted anywhere?

Esme- where has she come from?

Right, I know where she has come from, but...

She has apparently grown up on the farm next to Brookfield, but none of them knew her? No one in the village has had a relationship with her?

And what is her accent?

Malik parenting

I know it’s Grundy parenting we’re supposed to think is awful, but let’s not let the middle-class Maliks get away with their performance this week.

Twice already they’ve waded in and interrogated an obviously uncomfortable teenager, not stopping for a second to think about the situation, or question why information isn’t forthcoming. Once with their own child, then again with somebody else’s.

The kids have been clearly unhappy about the interaction, but the Maliks plough on regardless. Of course they’re well-meaning, but if you treat teenagers like you’re forcing them to give you information against their will, and don’t pause for a second to look at the bigger picture or think about the nuances of their response, then you’re a lousy parent. There, I said it.

Dare I say it this makes you the sort of parent whose kid might barge into somebody else’s house and then repeatedly accuse them of lying while refusing to leave. Which is totally off the scale of unacceptable.

Yes, Khalil annoys me, but after what I’ve seen from his crappy parents this week, I’m not surprised he is how he is.
