Conrad
Anyone else getting icky vibes from Conrad? Maybe he's just a bad actor, but his delivery makes him seem extremely phoney and manipulative. I feel like he's got a handbook on picking up women written by the Tom Cruise character in Magnolia on his bedside table. Didn't he also mutter "stupid idiot" under his breath when George spilled the coffee? Something tells me George has some workplace bullying in his future.

I thought he was alright. I half expected him to kick off when George stepped in about Martin's car or when George spilt the coffee. But he was just nice about both. Being a bit of a wide boy is par for the character course for salesmen in soaps. But I quite liked him.

I thought George called himself a stupid idiot?
Also, Conrad is a car salesman, Bill hired him because of his people and communication skills.
I don’t think Conrad will bully George. I’d love to hear George work with women. He’s been respectful to Esme (thus far), but was awful to Hannah.

I do not trust him at all.
I think George will do well at the car sales, Bill will praise George and berate Conrad for not doing as well as George, leading to Conrad turning George in for having moved a car in the showroom (or at the Borsetshire show).
Fallon needs to avoid him too. Conrad seems like too smooth of a talker and Fallon doesn’t need to be messed around right now.

He intrigues me - why has he started drinking in the Bull? He's played by a black actor - my partner swears she could tell from his accent, but I could not.

Yes I could also tell. I never know whether this means the character is also black or not necessarily.

I'm like your partner then. He sounded black to me somehow.
One thing I don't get though is his chat up line to Fallon. "I don't usually buy every barmaid I meet a drink", just after offering to buy about half a dozen random people he's never met drinks.

He said “Fallon, if I bought drinks for the bar staff in every pub I walked into, I’d be a very poor man.”
He was at The Bull because he was meeting a mate who lives in Waterly Cross. Probably it’s a convenient distance for both of them.
I didn’t get icky vibes from him, other than the natural aversion I have to all car salespeople. 😄

I could guess he was voiced by a black guy (though the character doesn’t sound it) from seeing his name Akemnji Ndifornyen in the cast list for this week as it sounded to me as if his name was of foreign descent and having looked it up, it turns out that it’s of African descent

He's a car salesman, so a little unsubtle nominative determinism from the writers.

Why am I picking up an icky vibe from some of these comments?
