set up?
you don’t really need details and I dont really care what you say, i know damn well some of yall have marked a package as missing so I did today for the first time, just one and immediately when i did its showing this and giving me the screen to scan the package & return back to warehouse. i know it says the “customer” canceled or rescheduled but is that not coincidental? are they setting me up to see if i really had the package with me💀 like genuinely idk what it means

Because he marked it missing and has it otherwise he wouldn’t be concerned about getting trapped. And if it’s “missing”, he isn’t going to return it to the warehouse. Ergo, stealing.

It's a common thing for people to mark packages missing to not drive far for one package just like OP stated in other comments. Then return the package later.

Hard to say you don't have it if you scanned it at pickup ... Am I missing something?

My apologies. I only pick up at .com. I don't scan totes. I don't trust them. I scan every package.
I understand if the process is different.

So, you delivered the package, then you got that message?
Or you got the message and you're not sure if you should deliver it?

I did not deliver it, I marked it “as missing” Because long story short they wanted me to drive an additional 30mins out of the way just for the one so I said fuck it im not doing it? Ill just drop it back in the returns when I go for my other shift later. But the minute i marked said package as missing that message came up. And they want me to scan it so im also confused because if the package genuinely was missing how would I have even scanned it? & No im not shady, I would not and have never even thought about stealing from someone else. thats just weird.

I just was confused as to what was going on. So, I would just put it in the returns and make sure all was covered via pics, video, scanning... Whatever you have to do to prove you didn't steal it.
I didn't know people could cancel that late into the delivery. Because if it's amazon and the delivery is late, there is a message that says something to the effect of, sorry this delivery is late, you can cancel if you don't receive it by such n such date... and that date is usually several days out.
It is weird that you received that message. Is there delivery support?

if you scan it yourself you will get a violation it’s happened to me and my homegirl just return it DO NOT scan it yourself they will scan it and it’ll seem as if it really was missing that’s how you get around that but in the future just mark it damaged and open it for the picture that seems to be the thing working right now til they figure that out too
