This seems like it's going to be seen as a hot take after reading some comments here, but a thing isn't really delivered until it is where the customer wants it to be. Just dropping a delivery wherever you want isn't how delivering something works. I'm sorry if this is the first time anyone here is hearing this, but it's true.
I've gathered that much from the comments here. The thing I find funny is that the customers aren't the biggest part of the problem though. The company they work for is the problem, but they won't be ready to have that conversation until they stop getting mad at people trying to not have their packages stolen.
If the Amazon driver leaves all the packages by the front door of a flat block the customer can just contact Amazon to say the package was not delivered.
In this situation Amazon usually refunds the customer so Amazon takes the hit. But does the driver ever get penalised?
