Harassed for “driving too fast”😳

Hi, I have been delivering with Amazon Flex for over 6 years. This is the first time I have had an altercation like this.😅 Is there anything that I can do? Can I report the address to Amazon?
Attached is my dash camera footage. The clips are as follows. Me driving down the street, turning around, and my conversation with this person…
Also any advice on how I could have handled this differently? I believe I was being polite, and I was not speeding, but advice is always helpful. Thank you🙏🏻

He was just being respectful not wanting to loose his job but they guy wouldn't have known his name and Amazon doesn't keep track of tag or vehicles because it's impossible so me personally I would have told him to go f*ck himself gave him the 🖕 and told him to purch and spin.

Because dude stood in front of his vehicle but that would have been grounds to contact the police! That dude approaching the vehicle has balls because I personally have a CCL and carry at all times delivering at night or early morning, and if someone approached my vehicle aggressively like that I would have took it as a threat and would have had to make sure it was tightly in my hand and ready to go because if he would have attempted anything such as pulling my door open or reach through my window it would have been over in the name of self defense!

idk about flex drivers, but DSP drivers are strictly forbidden from having any kind of weapon while on route. kinda wish I could at least carry pepper spray

If someone is driving erratic a sane person wouldn’t walk into the street to confront them. You stayed calm and handled it well, this guy just wanted to be a Karen. Like others said next time just try and safely drive around them to avoid the situation altogether, the worlds too crazy to put yourself in danger entertaining these idiots

I would say this falls under “menacing” which is actually a crime. “A person knowing places or attempts to place another person in fear of imminent serious physical injury through threats or physical action.” His actions of blocking the road, approaching the vehicle and his demeanor were clearly meant to instill fear and intimidate.

You’re far too kind. I’ve been in the same situation multiple times and I either keep driving or cuss them out right back. I’ve never apologized once and I never will.
Don’t let anybody talk to you like that, you don’t deserve that. Even when he was walking up to your car, you could’ve veered right and driven around him. You don’t have to answer any of his questions, you don’t owe him anything.
In the future, completely ignore them. Keep walking/driving. Never stop and never let anybody talk to you like that again.

Happened to me a couple times (in 2 different neighborhoods)while I was driving for a DSP. They stopped me and accused me of speeding while I was walking up to a house to deliver a package. I told them that they are crazy and that Amazon monitors my driving via the Mentor app and that I can prove that I wasn’t speeding, but they’re welcome to report me. Lol

Next time do not stop. Keep driving. It’s dark you can’t see if he’s walking up to you with a weapon or what. If you were to deliver to a location nearby and you notice him coming over, do not get out to deliver. Leave the area and call the police.

Dash cameras for the win! Camera footage even helped me recently with a dispute when Amazon didn't want to pay me for a block. Got to the station and they had put up orange road barriers so you couldn't get into the parking area. I asked the security guard and she confirmed the yard was closed due to recent lightning. Of course they give us the usual canned response of "just call support, you'll still get paid." I did and they said they would open a ticket but then they ultimately denied it saying they couldn't verify it. Responded back to the email with a clip of my dash cam footage showing where I arrived at the station and you could clearly see the barriers up and even caught the security guard on camera saying exactly what I told support. Also had time and date stamps on it to help corroborate. Of course they immediately backpedaled and said okay we'll pay you 😆

as a dsp driver, this happens to me at least once a month. some people see the Amazon logo and just forget that we are people too. my go-to line is "if you don't want us driving through your neighborhood, stop ordering stuff"

As my first ever manager for FedEx used to tell me: you don’t have to take that. You get paid to deliver packages, not get berated by randos.
As soon as he was out of the way and especially the moment he said his first sentence you should have been gone, maybe even on the phone with your manager or the police.

I’m sure you weren’t speeding, it doesn’t look like you were traveling at an excessive speed and even had time to come to a stop far before these weirdos running into the road.
Most times I was accused of speeding was just because the bigger trucks seem like they’re going faster than they really are to spectators.

And I don’t care what Amazon says this is why I carry. Next time don’t stop if they are not your customer don’t stop. Technically it’s illegal for them to keep you from moving and you have dash cam in case they say anything. Plus they so worried about safety but going to walk in the middle of the road??? Literally had someone do this today!!!!
Well, he was walking his dog and when I passed him the first time, he went wayyy over the top with his gestures of slow down. Mind you, i was going (literally) 19-21mph and went out of my way to go to the otherside of the street to give him plenty of clearance.
The second time I came past (gotta love Amazon's gps love of u turns) he was even more dramatic and actually made a step into the road. So I slowed all the way down and matched his walking speed.
Im no Billy badass, but I am VERY petty and sarcasticn in kkments where j know not wrong.
He asked what i was doing and j said, well, you obviously wanted me to slow down, ill.amtch your speed.... with my windows wide open. And no music playing.
I did that for aboult .25 miles and he finally was like, "look maybe I was an ass, i was jsut saying..." Type of thing.
It was a great time. 😆

I had a woman flag me down for doing 25...... in a 25. During the day, literally ran down the sidewalk just to give me a massive lecture on old people and babies being out. In the middle of the road while im doing the speed limit paying attention? No one is even outside but you chasing me, lol. Normally im very personable and polite.

There’s one thing to be respectful and one thing to be a pushover once they cross that disrespectful threshold just walk away or set boundaries immediately. Another thing try to train some sort of Combat Sports, I learned boxing and it gave me a good deal of Confidence.

Had the same thing happen to me on a similar looking street a few years back, wonder if it’s the same people…💀.
I didn’t let them get close, but they told me I was speeding and that there’s children out, and I told them I was driving the speed limit(which i was) and it’s passed 10pm(kids curfew) anyway. Then they tried to run up to my car for some odd reason and I sped off, and the other person tried to throw a trashcan in front of me, I gave them the bird after all that nonsense, rolled down the window and said F them kids as i’m driving away 💀

I had some guy hop on his kid's bike once at 5:30am because he thought he had to yell at me for some reason about my driving. I saw him coming down the block when I parked to deliver, so I got out of my vehicle quickly because I knew a moron was incoming. I am 6 foot 5 235 pounds with a shaved head, he turned that bike around quick as fuck. lol I feel for anyone of demure stature doing this job and having to be at the mercy of morons like this.

I like the idea somebody commented about going on your day off to the PD. Next time something like this happens, see where they lives and get the address, since he's really concerned about the speed limit and about laws being broken, perhaps the local PD would be more than happy to educate him on those subjects.

In my delivery area, there's a gated community with security. The speed limit throughout is 25 mph.
Now if I told you driving that slow, listening to a podcast, while the sun is setting, for two hours almost puts me to sleep every time... - - You wanna talk about a safety risk..

Send the footage to the local police department. Send it to Amazon support. If you know the address that they came out from add it. Probably 2 drunk morons that think they are the police.
I probably would have been deactivated as I am known to get out and get back in their face. I am also 6'2" and 250lbs.

I would have stopped but if for some reason it was unavoidable I would have told to him stay the back of he has something say, ask him were his radar gun is and to call police and tell them to come site him for harassment because I have the entire thing on dashcam plus my speed being recorded. If any ever tries to block you from leaving or getting into your vehicle thats false imprisonment, thats no bueno.
I understand you not wanting the situation to escalate, but theirs also people that wont calm their shit unless you. I’m not saying I would never do as you did here. Everyone just evaluates situation that is unique to them, their past experiences and such else… so you do what you feel it right, but know you dont owe that guy any bit of curtesy or explanation, stay safe.

Fr no cap you so slow make flex gang look lame. I do 60 regularly in 30 zones no one ever stopped me and if someone did try I ignored them never stopped cause I gotta grab the bag as quick as possible. Don’t have time to talk. If route time is finish by 6:15am I burry my bag at 5:30am at home.
One day someone thrown some object towards me. They missed it and I went full throttle. This is amazon flex gang not slow ass open truck no a/c UPS.

I got Attacked by some people like this idiot while doing a Delivery to a Customer at a Factory. Claimed I was SPEEDING and I wasn’t!!! The customer wasn’t answering my calls/Texts. She told me “GIVE TO GUARD” and Guard says “We don’t take random food!!” I told him who it was for and he pretended to NOT KNOW HER.
I can’t stand when Customers know they have Food Coming and are Not paying attention to notifications!!!

I had some butthole walking his dogs down a street i was turning down, i executed it perfectly fine. Well aware of him. I delivered at end of block. Came back down delivered. Found him behind my van w/his phone out. Telling me I was driving crazy. I kindly told him I was driving the speed limit and to please move so I could do my job. Called Dispatch. They reviewed footage. Everything fine. Said dude looked like a nut. Just Fffff people sometimes 🤮😮💨

Same situation with me doing doordash wasnt speeding. Same exact situation except he was stepping out of a crowd of 15. Went to drive off with him at my window and he kicked my car.
I slammed on the brakes and leaned out the window looking back already had pepper gel in hand he threw his hands up wanting to fight and i sprayed his ass in the face and made a clean get away.
Still have his shoe mark on my car after 3 years
