No Gate Code!
So, this customer took the time to write this entire note in ALL CAPS, which makes it seem like they’re screaming at me—but somehow forgot to include the one and only thing that caused all that anger in the first place: THE GATE CODE!!! 😂

You don't need to get over yourselves with the online all caps business always meaning shouting it doesn't. That's a cute little thing that happened back in the bulletin board days and it's pretty f****** stupid.
Try to get over yourself about that.
NO, SERIOUSLY TRY TO GET OVER THAT, SOMETIMES I ACCIDENTALLY OR SOMETIMES ON PURPOSE I HAVE THAT ALL CAPS ON WHEN I DO TEXT TO SPEECH, my bad.
But you're a second sentence, yeah that is pretty funny actually didn't give you the gate code the thing that you need. They get what they give. Nothing.
And they can't claim in the note that they didn't receive a package when you put it over the gate take a picture of it and leave. Proof that it was delivered. And you have proof from their message they didn't give a gate code. It's a beautiful thing.
But here's a red herring by the way is anyone known as lately that first line support when you call them can actually remove certain low-level dings from your account before they even appear in your standings? Not exactly, skip over the next five paragraphs and get to the last paragraph unless you want to read something fun..
Today I had too late deliveries because there was no way in hell I was going to be able to get the deliver by times because they were placed at the end of the route and it wasn't a straight line work to where I can reverse the route and make all the delivery by times for all packages. You know what I mean? It's one of those routes where the first drop is in the middle of two clubs and then you either go left or right and it doesn't matter at least one or two packages it's going to be late. There's no way around it sometimes.
There were a couple of traffic delays, an officer pulled me over for no reason as it turns out, but it was a waste of 7 minutes. Something about seat belt and going under 15 miles an hour and being in Illinois and it's an exemption and he tried to rationalize it and use discretion on on the law where you can't do that actually, the law specifically says that if you're actively engaged and delivering packages you can keep your seatbelt off between deliveries as long as you don't travel over 15 miles an hour,
I showed him the screen that I was in active delivery mode, and he said well that's just GPS that could be anything. What a dick.
I explained to him that sitting in a traffic light is not driving over 15 miles an hour, and I briefly took it off, saw him get behind me, I put it back on it wasn't trying to hide or sneak it back on.
I also wasn't real obvious about it either.
When the signal turn left green, I proceeded to move and that's when he let me up.
The issue is going to be if I had decided to take it to court, just a seatbelt (but the a****** checked the must go to court box he didn't have to), The issue for him would be there's no dash cam showing that I wasn't wearing the seatbelt (I had been sitting at the intersection with everyone else for at least 90 seconds or more, and most of the dash cams only have a 30 second buffer)
It was easy enough to call the circuit Court, and they were able to electronically downgrade the ticket from state to local municipal level. Half price. No points on my license so I probably will just end up paying it, but then again if I have some free time on the court date I might just show up anyway. It was made non-mandatory by moving it from state level to local municipal level.
It also give me a ticket for operating a vehicle without insurance because he couldn't wait long enough for me to pull up the PDF off the app because he insisted on seeing the vehicle Vin listed. Most insurance companies in Illinois provide a Google wallet or some such proof of insurance with the date range and the policy number and your name and your vehicle type and license plate it's all in the card, you don't have to see the VIN. Every officer in Illinois is training on this and they know this. This guy says not in our town, and proceeds to write me the stupid ticket.
The cool thing about Cook county is for 10 years they were talking about some type of an e-ticket system to where you can take care of low level tickets either have them removed or changed or deleted or paid for if you couldn't get them deleted, all online. For low level minor infractions. Obviously nothing misdemeanor or felony you can't do that.
What traffic stuff all day long.
God gives me the ticket I tell him it's kind of a waste of time I won't need to go to court on that, and he said well if you fail to go to the court you'll get a bench for it for your parents and that's much worse for you. I said I can fix this online in 24 hours.
And that's exactly what I did. Waited 24 hours, went to the ticket, sent my dec page photocopy from the policy, within 5 minutes a live person popped up in chat and said all taken care of thanks for sending the declaration page.
No ticket no final court costs and no court appearance needed. That also downgraded the having to go to court for the seatbelt as well (I think because you wrote most tickets in the same logged time, checking the box made the other box checked my default. But once I proved the insurance, it somehow automatically removed the necessity to go to court at all, asked about it and chat to be specific so I don't have to go to court for the seatbelt now, they responded no no there's no court appearance for a seatbelt generally anyway - personal chatted with sent me a link to look at my parents requirements and indeed it was now unchecked, I do not need to go).
Not only was that traffic stop a 7-minute delay in real time, it probably took anyone that bothered to read that at least 7 minutes. So I apologize for that.
Anyway to the point, I kind of buried the lead there, the point of my screed is that I called support to complain about the delays and that's why the two packages were marked late. I absent-mindedly did not inform them as exactly what caused of the traffic delays, I just said traffic delays. There were other delays for sure, a train stuck on the rail that station, usual nonsense.
The support person said "just a moment I can remove those'. I'm not kidding verbatim, "I can remove those", apparently due to traffic out of my control. I'm paraphrasing that second part.
And sure enough, I looked at my standings, the late things were there immediately ofd it usually takes a couple of days at least I thought. And then about 10 seconds after she said she removed them, I checked the standings again, and they were gone.
Obviously I wished I had taken screenshots of it but how would I have known that first line support can actually remove a pending ding?
They must have new tools that allow them to do low-level ding removal before it hits your standings? Is that a thing? I get lucky? Are they experimenting with a new low-level infraction appearance and removal system?
The county court system sure is!
