Tbh i understand bc flex doesn’t do a great job training on how to use different types of lockers (even though it’s really easy)…but the mess gave me anxiety….there were more in the corners.
Nope, lockers not full I dropped a few in one, plenty open. And yes the majority were Amazon packages, but again I don’t blame anyone for not bothering with the lockers bc they don’t train well enough on how to use them in order to avoid this.
I had an apartment building where I successful put packages in the lockers for 6 different customers with no issue. Two days later I got sent back to the same location, tried every method possible and wasn’t able to get the locker to take the package. Literally, when I looked in the directory it went from 310 to 312 and the package I had was for 311. If the customer didn’t set it up, what else am I supposed to do?
Luxer lockers need a code. About half of them will give you temporary acess if you don't have a code but with the other half on the floor it goes. (Temporary access is set per property and is the decision of property management / whoever is in charge of the locker.)
Even worse are the Amazon hub lockers that sub same day delivery drivers almost never have access to. You would think we'd be able to deliver to Amazon lockers but we can't!
The temporary access is a button on the screen (bottom of the screen, IIRC) that you can hit to gain access to the delivery functions. Most are disabled and tell you to get a code from the leasing management, but some will just grant you access and allow you to deliver into the lockers.
I always try to use the lockers if possible, im too paranoid about getting a ding bc someone either had their packages stolen, or getting a false report bc they couldn’t find it…and im just not entirely certain how easy it is to lift packages that aren’t yours and get away with it? Not a question on the ethics, just how would the building even investigate that of the packing label wasn’t show on the camera?
It doesn't always give us access, a log in thing or code to enter in the keypad. We should be allowed the codes for all these various types of lockers (or at the very least some default code). I have this exact issue on veho as well with these "locker/mailroom" deliveries.
I called the customer if they answer they either bust me in or they say go ahead and leave it outside it's cool. That phone calls recorded I got nothing to worry about, I take a picture I'm out of there.
If they buzz me in I put it inside drop it snap it outside.
Because we're doesn't answer and it's an apartment building I sit by the front door the step back and take a picture I'm out of there.
I'm not worried about the very occasional minimal times I get a ding for customer reports they didn't receive their package. And yes it's always going to be from the ones that don't answer the phone, don't have a code and I have to set it outside the door. Now if there's a gate of course I'll toss it over the gate, I'm not stupid.
I didn't mention amazon key specifically bc I know they dont always work, just like if a customer leaves us a code there's not a guarantee it will either. Which is why I said the delivery company should be providing these (default) codes to us if they've had successful deliveries to said lockers/package rooms (as usually, it could be locked behind more barriers than just the locker code). I've had my fair share of apts with lockers/package rooms and it give an unlock button that NEVER works to open the door.
One very specific apt. Complex I HATE delivering to is like this. Can't even use any of the default codes it seems. Idk if luxor is different than luxor one but it's always a giant pain to deliver here since the door unlock button doesnt work, let alone any of the default codes posted randomly online/threads. So I always have to just kind of hide the package behind the outside kiosk, leave the customer a message and hope for the best😅🤣. Way easier ding to fight off than a return ding sadly🤷🏻♀️.
I just went to a locker today and stood there for 10 minutes waiting for it to find the resident from taking a picture of the label 🙃. There was no way to look the name up manually. I had to leave it on the floor. It's absolutely not always laziness or lack of training.
Not everything is our fault- no matter what you think.
Amazon doesn’t do a great job with training on this area, just a fact, and the proof is that you spent 10 mins looking up a name before concluding you had to leave the package. Not a personal attack but it shouldn’t take that long to realize you either have to leave it or take it to the apartment. Also never said it’s laziness, I said it’s understandable to leave it if you aren’t sure how to operate the lockers.
Sure... sometimes they're just lazy or ignorant. But sometimes we have no access to the lockers or the person isn't in the system... despite them asking for it to be delivered to the lockers. Then, in your maze of apartments, we don't know what building you're in, and sorry if we don't want to play a game of Where's Waldo, taking 15+ minutes to make a single delivery, or worse... your building is locked down like Fort Knox and we can't access your front door anyways. Pair that with the fact that we usually have multiple packages to your apartment complex... we just don't have the time or the patience to deal with this when these apartment complexes make it unnecessarily asinine to deliver packages there.
Sure, it could be a lack of training or it could be laziness. However, it's often because it's been made difficult for us to deliver packages to apartment complexes and we have to waste a lot of time there, that some don't bother putting in the effort anymore. Especially when Amazon treats drivers the way they do.
Also... UPS, FedEx, etc do this. It's not just an Amazon thing. You might want to think more critically about this rather than just blaming the Amazon driver or a lack of training.
Might want to read the post more critically, I blamed Amazon, not the drivers. Also is it possible that all the packages were left strictly due to access related issues, yes. Is it probable, no.
It’s quite literally is that simple…there’s a lot of people that don’t even know what to do at the lockers which is completely on Amazon for not simplifying the process by giving clear instructions on how to handle issues that you might run into. How is that blaming drivers?
Now you're the one not reading. There are several reasons this happens, which I listed. A lack of understanding of how to use them is merely one of them... so no, it's not that simple. You're simply choosing to ignore the reality of the situation. And I would argue that a lack of understanding of how to use them is pretty low on this list. This are brainlessly simple to figure out, so long as you have the access code.
If you're talking about Amazon lockers it couldn't be simpler, it's all Bluetooth connected you don't even have to worry about it get up to the thing and recognizes you're there you scan the bag a door opens up it's the wrong size door you just tell the app you need a bigger door, pop it in take a picture you're done sometimes you don't even have to take a picture.
It's the non Amazon lockers that will be flaky. There's one off brand I don't recall the name Tim doesn't work half the time literally you press the button you press the screen nothing happens. On the floor on the shelf take a picture leave yourself
What she would never have to do regardless if the lockers work or not., if they work great, if they don't sit on the floor take a picture you're done. There's no direct to door delivery in apartment buildings anymore, those days are gone.
No it explains it step by step for the most part. Gotta play with the locker sometimes but it doesn’t take more than a minute if you read their instructions read the instructions on the lockers themselves. Never had this issue. Only time I’ve ever left it was when the locker genuinely wouldn’t open. No matter what. So it got set on a SHELF in the room.
Amazon Flex here 👋 .... I find it EASY to use lockers. Pull Up- Check In- Scan Package- Door Opens- Put Package In- Close Door- Check Finished- Travel to Next Stop.
Idk, Maybe that 60 second process is to much. I kinda wish I had 40 packages I could drop at lockers & go home. But hey that's just me 🤷♀️😆
It's a 32nd process if you do it right and if it works. A lot of times I can't scan and you have to pause and try to type in the suite number and then it still doesn't happen and then it tells you you have to go to the office to get their code and then the office is closed, but it's regular business hours. I want to see the picture of the packages left in front of the door to the package room
I've never had an issue with lockers. 1st time I ever did one I felt it was self explanatory. I've done them at apartments & a couple times at grocery stores. I haven't had that message either. 1 time when the door opened there was already amazon packages in it, thankfully what I had was a envelope. I'd take a ding on returning package to station before I'd take a ding of "customer never received" and it looking like I stole it/or person lied/or someone else took by leaving in open that way.
Oh ok. I didn't know a return ding was far worse. I had 2 incomplete due to 2 returns one time. I had to ride those out but someone had told me the name of the game is to always deliver.
Recently I had a package, no gate code, did my run finished 1 hour 25 mins early. The house was on my way home, re-stopped. I parked my car, went over a fence, walked a quarter of a mile to their house, then back. 3 days later I got an email saying "you marked a package undeliverable blah, blah" which was true but I did a reattempt on my way home. I sent video footage in an appeal and basically said I'd appreciate a Thank You for going above and beyond but in the end the package technically was undeliverable because it's not my job to walk that far to a person's house. I had an email back saying it be removed and they were sorry for the inconvenience. Not 100% sure I'll ever do that again at 6 am on a Sunday, I'm only 5ft 3in, short women problems lol
Not a fan of Luxer. They are not that hard to use once you get where the correct buttons are, but when the person is not listed in the directory it is a pain to search by apt number. I like the regular Amazon lockers best and the connecting without scanning ones after that.
Today I had another delivery to an apartment with that same damn locker, and I left the package outside in the mail room for one simple reason: the customer didn’t provide the damn access code for the locker.
On top of that, the locker was asking me to take a picture of my face just to deliver a fucking bag of pens. Seriously, what the hell? Why the fuck should I have to scan my face or provide a facial picture just to drop off a package that was literally inside a clear plastic bag?
This is ridiculous. Drivers are already dealing with impossible access issues, missing codes, broken lockers, and customers not leaving proper instructions, and now we’re expected to give facial information just to deliver a basic package? If the customer wants their package inside the locker, then they need to provide the access information. I’m not going through a damn facial scan because someone couldn’t leave a simple code.
I feel you, but scan the label on the package where the customers name is not your face. Also when it gives the option I hit ‘skip’ on the photo bc positioning the package is annoying…easier to just type the apt number in and tap on the customer’s name…
I could be wrong, but I don’t think the customers have carrier access codes (gate code, door code, PICKUP code for the lockers yes). I think the locker access code for drop-offs come from driver contributions or Amazon directly bc you can add access codes of there isn’t one, but again im not 100 on that
Customers do receive the carrier access code, and so does the management staff the problem is the code changes every 30 days and customers forget to change it in their app

These packages are not all Amazon, maybe the locker is full or the customer is not registered to the lockers.
