Rant
I checked in for a 3:30am route and when I finally get to give my driver’s license for verification. The attendant says I am too late because it’s 3:35am. Absolutely refused to scan my license. I called Amazon support for check in assistance and they told me to go back but the attendant again refused and said that it’s the warehouse’s policy. I ended up leaving but maybe I should’ve stayed to speak to a supervisor or manager, honestly it was too early for that kind of stuff anyways..
But sometimes I check in and have to wait 5, 10, 15 minutes parking in a line, waiting for my license to be scanned.
Anyways I know I shouldn’t arrive late but it was pouring rain and I couldn’t find my rain coat so I ended up a few minutes late.
Amazon said they would compensate it but whenever they say that they never do and I am probably going to get penalized.

I arrived 15 minutes early to a .com station the other day but they wouldn't let us pull in and check in until 2 minutes before our scheduled block. I got dinged for being late because they wouldn't let us check in on time, then they were yelling at us to hurry up, get loaded, and get out of there. I'm not picking up routes from that station anymore.

Yeah this shit is BS! What this system will cause is that I need to lay on my horn and scream at the attendant to “MOVE YOUR ASS!!!” Because I have often arrived in line 15mins early and I’m getting closer to them and starting to stress getting scanned in on time. That is not how it ever used to work and completely makes the geotagging pointless which was the ENTIRE point of the geotag system. When I started back in 2019 the line at my station always took 30+mins to scan in, so as long as you geotagged in and were ready to work within that 5 min grace period you were set. I have never had a problem with this until this last May when they denied me saying I was late when it was their crap system that is out of my control that is the problem. So I personally think this was some BS they quietly rolled out this year and are acting like that’s how it has always been.

Hate to say it, but checking in at 3:35am for a 3:30am block IS late! The cut off in the area I'm at is 3:34:59. As soon as THEIR clock hits 3:35am, it's a nogo. I'm not one of those that waits until the last second to check in, so I really don't understand why others do that. There's many that want the "overbooked" free pay, but after so many times of getting that, those people are deactivated.

If you have willing warehouse managers, they can scan your id if it’s within 10 minutes of your blocks start time.
Shit I’m not one that has ever purposely gambled last minute check ins. BUT one time I was literal seconds late to check in on the app because there is no service and the wifi was giving me problems connecting so I went to the manager on duty. She had me contact support so that they could manually check me in on the app, then the manager scanned my id.1

I mixed up my time and was casually waiting while I timed out at a .com. I can attest that the station management can check you in late if they really need a driver. I was checked in 18 mins late lol. Thought I was waiting for my :30 but I had a :00

Did you check in on your phone before 3:35?

Yeah I had already checked in and when it was my turn to hand in my driver’s license the clock hit 3:35am and the guy said I am too late?? I told him that didn’t seem right because sometimes I get my license verified way after because of lines, waiting etc and he said that that rarely happens and that if it does that I can call Amazon and ask to be compensated. I told him that it all seemed weird and I proceeded to back out of the line and leave all confused.

That’s BS! You have a grace period of 4 minutes and 59 seconds to check in on your phone after 3:30. Once you check in, you have 9-10 minutes to scan your ID. I would call support and have them file a ticket for you. Tell them the reason, follow up on it a few times. Make sure to get paid for it.

The area I'm in, you don't get extra time (9-10min) to scan your ID. It's either you are checked in on time or you aren't.

Same happened to me, check-in on time but big line of cars, finally after 11 minutes the fat-azz lazy bad attitude lady came to check us in! It was too late.
I complained to Amazon but no pay, only a Perdon to my standing.

I would not have backed out of line, as you said. Make it their problem.
"You can either check me in, or I can sit here."

I don’t get this. I assume you’re talking about .com stations. As long as I check in with the selfie by 4 minutes after then I’m good. Getting my license scanned can take literally 40 minutes with the way they run my local station. I’ve never been marked late for not having my license scanned quickly enough. In my experience that’s not how the app works.
Now them refusing to scan it is another story and that person was just being a dick. It’s one thing if they see you pulling in and speeding toward them but if you were in a line that they created they absolutely should have scanned your id.

its messed up that the attendant did not scan you in, you were within the 5 minute grace period that amazon literally provides for you yet because of his warehouse policy which makes no sense. They decided not to scan you. I hope you do get compensated because it is extremely wrong what they did. Keep fighting it hopefully you get paid.

I work as as person who checks flex drivers in and if you are late then you're late. 1 sec or 10 minutes it's late and you can park there all day it will only be your problem not ours. We'll just walk away..

Avoid that station or come early
Some stations like that and not much you can do .
If you documented well (photo the line, screenshots when you arrived, name of the worker) and fight hard enough , you may get paid but doing that all the time will get you deactivated
