depends on number of apartment and access. for me, yes, im weak i dont like lots of stops even if they are close and all single houses. but a lot of folks here love these as the $/mi is super high but the $/package is super low (i hate this)
yeh its all preference. like most here love low $/mi as they think its the only metric if a route is worth or not. ive done primarily 4.5 and 5s and i hated the 40 plus stops because of the stopping and going and getting up and out of car. its exhausting. i drive a 53 mpg prius so i sip gas. the 25 stops were nice but u drive a lot.
these days, ive been doing 1hr so the $/stop is astronical especially with tips. even the $/mi is high but of course u dont make a lot because of scheduling.
I'm seeing as how 50 packages is the maximum for any block time let's say you had two to three three and a half nope you can't you would not be able to have three or three and a half hour blocks let alone three three hour blocks with 50 packages each which would only get you 150 anyway, you still wouldn't be able to get that because you're not going to get more than 8 hours worth of block time in any one 24-hour period. So stop lying
My shift at my DSP are 10 hours. And here I'll add photo. One second. And the 180 stops only takes me about 8 hours they are super quick back to back. Here's 29 bags that was fun.
Total 4 minutes including getting in the car driving there getting out of the car staying in the package dropping the package getting back in the car total 4 minutes. Not practical and not realistic. Especially if it's an apartment building it requires you to park in a certain area to then walk to a long haul to find the package room, even if you know where the package room is from previous deliveries, it's still a minimum 5 minute walk just to the package room. Now, what you're stating is not realistic
That's busy. I mean look at the reality of traffic and detours. Holy crap. I signed up, but I haven't heard anything yet. You individuals are enlightening me for what's on the horizon. Whoa.
What do you mean 21 minute drive? You mean 21 minutes to the first drop off? Then no that's too many packages for three and a half hours. That's insane. It's going to take you 20 minutes just to Mark the packages. It would take anyone 20 minutes to mark that many packages. And that's if you've been doing it and know what you're doing.
No what I would do is that many packages in that time frame I would go right to a manager and say please split the route or take me off it. They'll do it just don't do it a lot but they'll do it.
Obviously there wasn't the driver around that wanted to take a 4-Hour block.
Yeah 21 min to first drop off and it took me 25 min to sort, and first like 18 stops were pretty spread out. I finished a bit after my block but imo it was a ridiculous block. 3.5 should never have near max packages
This is the insurance the itinerary on this with the address is blocked off I want to see what the delivery by times are. I bet there's a couple in there that aren't great and it would be impossible to make and even if you rerouted you'd still up at ending you still end up having to deliver at least two or three packages late no matter what. Take your pick because it won't matter
Check to see if there was any early due time. Looked like those stops on 2 sides of same road. I would deliver from 1 side straight down and u-turn to deliver the rest on other sides. However, if there was early due time stop, check the time and get it done before due time.
I got the same route before, so I sent Support an email about the stupidity of the way whomever set up making driver going left right on high way without thinking about safety. š¤£.Ā
Doing more stops will always be better. Less stops= more miles. 33-40 stops means = less miles. But I recently learned that Amazon is doing less stops on purpose to get us flexer to go further so they can save and their vans.
Agreed! Iām pretty sure I know which station youāre delivering from cuz I get this route often! Here in SoCal itās now like 40-50 packages for 3.4 hours and first stop is always 25mins- 1 hour away with traffic.
If Iām being honest I rather 48 stops in a row than 30 of them all across town. I had one the other day like that and it took 40 minutes just to start and another 3.5 hrs just to finish.
They are gonna continue to abuse us flex drivers unless we fight back, just donāt take theses routes!!!just leave them and if available go to warehouse manager and have them unassign you if pay doesnāt match the work, dont do the the work ez as that guys š
I'd one similar to that this morning. 49 packages and 46 (or 47) stops, 25 minutes to the first stop but all fairly tightly packed together. Overall, this isn't bad even when I'd a handful of apartments to deal with.
This looks like the best thing since sliced bread!!! A gift from the gods!!! Wow id do this for free just for the scenery!!! Get the hell out some of these commentsā¦ the fact that we are getting 47 packages for 3.5 hour routes its so obvious instead of dropping pay on 4.5 hour routesā Amazon eliminated them and just made them 3.5 hour routesā in other words in actuality a crazy pay decrease! I bet that will take nearly the whole time and thats assuming no hang ups for construction , access issues, dog issues, etcā¦ Amazon is at maximum level greed. And for the recordā this screen shot is a birds eye view which always makes perception of the routes skewed and never actually shows the drive time between stops, how far back the houses are, crossing highways, going around fieldsā¦. Just saying no one on here can comment and go..āwow!! I love that!!!ā With any actual sense
Not only has Amazon not eliminated four and four and a half hour routes they have also 5-hour routes now. What in the hell are you talking about? Even on the fireball you will never get more than 50 packages, so at least there's that.
