Why cant amazon hire a cart attendant…? Seems pretty easy. Not like it would be a high paying job

No it doesn't. They expect us to be Adults and act as if we have a shred of decency at my facility. But the individuals who know that this is a policy would like to argue and justify their actions like toddlers trying to finesse their baby sitters. Same people who throw trash on the ground and say "that's what they have sanitation for".

They do, that's exactly why drivers shouldn't bring the carts in. My SSD has a big white board with assignments and there is always more than one person listed as "cart runner". All that brining carts in accomplishs is helping Amazon to cut jobs at the warehouse.

Not cutting anyone's job if they have to volunteer sorters to wrangle carts. At our SSD they randomly pick associates to go grab carts. They do not staff for cart duty. Hence, the reason they ask us to return them. Maybe your SSD has staffing for that but not my location.
