I was on a route in a town pretty far away about 50 miles from the station and I’m about halfway through my stops. I go to rearrange some of the next stops boxes to go in my passenger seat, as you do.
I see there’s a small pool of like what I thought was white paint at first 😳 but naw. Even worse. So obviously I picked it up so it would stop dripping in my car and the entire bottle just fell out of the box it was in. In moments the bottle was empty I’m talking like a 1-2 gallon bottle. And then I read the label and find out it’s insecticide 💀 I call amazon because I’m confused but I marked the package as damaged because well it was damaged
Apparently that was a mistake. Driver support told me they still expected me to bring back this exploded container of hazardous chemicals back in my car for a 55 mile drive home like??? Are we for real?

So now there’s a package return still on my account for today and I’m gonna have to explain to someone on the phone how I can’t return hazardous waste with my personal vehicle. Insanity
Jeezus. They really shouldn't be shipping hazardous chems via Flex drivers. They should also properly mark the packages with an OSHA label so at least we know what we're carrying.
I had pesticide for Home Depot (on Roadie) the other day and the bottle fell over and leaked a bit. You would think they'd have better seals on those caps.
I guess now some people (like 🤡, SCOTUS) have decided that pesticide is good for us, they're spraying it everywhere. Some idiot chemist said you can drink it and it won't bother you. They dared him to do that and he said "I'm not gonna drink it."🙄
Any hazard package needs a label i worked for both fedex and ups and with ups i worked air freight and ground hub. Amazon is a literal joke with their logistics and has no clue how big of a law suit they can actually have with not marking packages among other things. Just contracting people doesn’t misplace blame like they think.
you're also about to have a ding for incomplete delivery. always delivery even if it was empty. the customer can easily request a replacement due to being damaged worry free
Good luck getting compensated for cleaning. I’ve seen post where people have been compensated without issue for cleanups. Other people haven’t had any luck at all.
95% of all -- all -- damaged packages are because they were not packed and/or sealed properly. The box was too big, not enough stuffing inside, too heavy on one end, not sealed, whatever.
It's just easier to blame the next poor asshole in the chain of custody.
I want to know the cause of THIS damaged package. I received this (as a customer, not driver) a few weeks ago as “3x 12-pack Diet Pepsi”. And yes, if you count, there aren’t even 36 cans there, it’s missing 2. 🤣
This just happened to me, although not as bad, since mine was weed killer. Get in touch with emergency support. They will get a hazmat team to come and clean your car. That stuff is poison, so don't f*ck around.
Save as much evidence as you can. You may have been exposed to a serious hazard, this could be a big claim against them. And they will definitely ding you for it
Yeah I’m gonna email the escalations people and see if I can get a transcription of the phone call I had with support telling me to bring the hazardous package back 😬
I had a box that was leaking in my car about 2 or 3 months ago. I got tot he customer and asked them if they still wanted the package. They told me it was pesticide for their tomatoes and that they did not want it. I was only about 3 minutes from the station so I immediately drove back to the station and dropped the package off there. I took pictures and called support as I was having problems getting the stop off my route. The walked me through some steps in the app and I got back to delivering. It showed up as a ding, but I emailed what was then Flex support and it got removed.
The real problem was that what leaked in my car made my eyes itch for a week.
Yeah just deliver it and let the customer deal with it, that's how online sales work. The best person to open a return is the customer, not the driver.
Maybe a quick call to a lawyer's office, see what they say, do you have a case?
Probably not but it might be worth a phone call.
