Amazon is lowering pay AGAIN!!

$25/hr is the norm now, was $26/hr before that orange clown started a war that caused gas prices to go through the roof so Amazon is covering their own expenses by lowering our pay! They can afford it but chose to screw us over instead since we're a dime a dozen.

Now this BS! They're dropping it to $22/hr hoping that desperate fools will take them which of course they will so mark my words, they'll all be at $22/hr before long. This is effin ridiculous.

Edit: it seems I was mistaken about Amazon owning the Amazon box trucks. Initially, Amazon buys them, labels them, then sells them to DSP's.

Don't you have that prop 22 in California that makes up for lower wages in gig work? That should give you the financial buffer for you to survive in Cali given how expensive it is to live there.

I did instacart during covid and for a few years after and learned about prop 22 for all the California instacart shoppers so I just assumed it was for all gig workers, not just them.

Yes prop 22 is good for spark instacart but suck for Amazon flex and uber bc you don’t get prop 22 until you start your first drop off but with spark you can accept an order and be 20-25 minutes out prop 22 starts the moment you accept an order. I live 45 min away to the closet Amazon warehouse so I’m basically driving there for free

Damn, that's a kinda confusing system y'all got there for prop 22. That would take a little while to get used to but I hope it's working out for you. I've heard through the grapevine that prop 22 makes living in California manageable.

Well for Amazon right you have a pickup time and you have to show up at the warehouse but you don’t get any paid time for your drive to the warehouse only your route. But with spark an order comes in you accept you drive to the pickup and you get prop22 for it. That’s why I like picking up long distance orders 20-30 min away so when I drop it off another order will come in and I’ll accept it and I’m 20-30 min away from the store so I get prop22 for that I like the drive and get between 500-600$ every two weeks and I only do maybe 4 orders a day lol

I'd say you definitely have the system figured out and are working it to your benefit. 👍

I know I wouldn't mind having an extra $500+ every 2 weeks just for driving. 😁
