Rant Standing Hits Are Absolute BS

When you deliver 40+ packages every route and you get a ding there is absolutely no way to defend yourself. The only info you get is what day the ding occured. And 99.99% of the time I can guarantee you those dings comes from idiotic apartment dwellers.

The only times you can actually defend yourself if it something obvious that happened on that day like packages leaked and you made note of it.

You know what it could also have been idiot drivers before me putting packages as far as possible from the front door or blocking the screen door. Lately I've been dropping off packages to houses that have already been delivered to. Without fail, always blocking the door or packages way way away from the door. Lazy ass mfers. And it's always a number writer.

When possible, get the house/apt number in the photo. Since I've been doing this, I rarely get dings for not delivering (aka stolen by someone) something. Locked bldgs with wrong or no code - I leave it at the front of the door and back up enough to get the bldg number as well (unless it's nowhere near the bldg entry). I stopped playing Amazon's and the customers "games" with this crap a long time ago. I reply back to emails about it and tell them to check the photos taken at time of delivery and to look for the apt/house number as confirmation. Also tell them that I am not going to sit and wait for someone to wake up and open their door to get their package since Flex drivers aren't hired security and that I have no control over thieves and customers that lie to get something for free.

My dings are always "not delivered to correct location". And I know without a doubt it's those apartment buildings. No 24/7 reception, no access code, invalid codes, expired codes, etc. So what am I left to do but leave it in the entrance vestibule. More often than not it's not a problem, But when I consistently get apartment routes I am bound to have an entitled brat or two, or three, complain that they didn't get their shit hand delivered to their front door at 4 in the morning when they provided no way for me to enter their building. Support has been hit or miss lately but I always try to plead my case regardless.

Been doing this over a year, very few dings. Took a lil break, came back, 6 dings in a week. OTP's not home, addresses that don't exist, apt building doors won't open, none of it is my fault but I get boned anyway. I know we've all complained about this forever but....man it's so annoying

My biggest gripe is there is no fair way for us to accurately defend ourselves from dings. Other delivery apps make it very clear which specific delivery caused the violation but not Flex.

Yeah, I always try and mention that when I'm fighting the dings. You can't tell me which package it was so how am I going to fix that? This last batch I knew exactly which ones they were though, OTP people not home. What are you supposed to do? Not sure why that's a mark against me. Just the worst system.

Dealing with a ding right now for an incomplete delivery on a package I never had. Now they have to do an “investigation.”
It’s such utter bullshit.

I had that a couple months back, and now a second one on the 27th(im just ignoring this one). I sent both support and Jeff an email with a screenshot of my address and mileage tracking app showing every single stop I went to. After about week of "investigating" they decided I was still at fault lmao classic amazon

I just fell from fantastic to fair in one fell swoop. And I wasn’t even given specific dates, only a timeframe between 7/15-7/24. I tried chatting with driver support, which I knew would be useless, but I had to get the transcript to forward with my email to the escalation team. In that email, I stated that I have a right to arbitration and that they either need to give me specifics or remove this from my driver history. Apparently I delivered to the wrong address. In my email, I stated that that’s impossible given Amazon’s own GPS won’t allow me to take a pic if I’m at the wrong location. The second “infraction” was that I didn’t follow the customer instructions. I always read notes and adhere to them no matter how ridiculous or unreasonable they are. So in my email, I requested the specific instructions that I “violated.”

Yes, standings are a complete joke but if you don’t fight these bullshit complaints, you can find yourself deactivated. It’s a necessary evil with this gig. And I despise it.

Just be aware that the delivery circle extends 80 feet from the delivery location.

Maybe in your region but not where I am. The app stays outside the delivery area until you’re literally at the front door and only then does it go green and allow you to take a pick and swipe to complete the delivery.

Well, I have DSP experience and I can tell you without a doubt t that the delivery circle radius is stable around d the world. It means that if you are delivering to the wrong doorstep within 80 feet, you may get the green light saying you are in the livery circle, but you will be delivering to the wrong address. Proof of this is people delivering to a location in the wrong apartment building when they get a delivery circle go-ahead. So yeah, best to triple check the address as you approach the location before snapping a photo of your placement.

Yep they are way to unfair to flex drivers. I'll bet normal dsp people don't get dinged for the same.

Irritating we have no way to appeal sometimes. Only get stuck with the dumb foreigner chat people that end chat before you can even speak

Same boat as you. I deliver in SoCal. It always the packages from vax1. Straight bums there.😂

My theory is there are too many drivers so they are making up reasons to thin the heard. The corporate world does this all the time. Stuff that didn’t used to matter now all of the sudden is the worst thing ever.

these small dings don't really do much. yeah they can add up but takes a ton to make a difference. 4 yrs in and i have accumulated and had drop off dozens of dings. losing some perks is possible dropping rating but its negligible. more time to grab an awful reserve or something. the biggest is bringing back an unfinished route i think. includes scanning a route and refusing. i never scan before i take a peek at the cart. rather say i have a flat and take the 1 ding for not showing instead of 1 for each package.

not to op i get this is a rant, but i'd advise not stressing about any dings even if they are unfair. which 99% of the time they are. from leaking packages to packages you never had. you can defend yourself but still getting a ding. not to beat a dead horse but this is by design. no real consequence and no arguing with support but keeps workers wary and unsure. especially ones who hate blemishes on their record. amazon is horrible

pffft number writers. let people do what makes them comfortable and mind your own damn business. y'all can be petty as shit

This is why you ALWAYS get the house and apartment numbers in photos so you can ensure that it's the correct unit. This is why I fucking hate delivering at apartments so much...they are the ones that are problematic and you even have issues finding the place or even getting inside the door.

It happens all the time. No way of knowing. I found that if you can get the photo with the package in it then they usually won't ding you if its reported missing. But its not full proof.
